Revelof, draped in a black robe, left the temple and set off toward his destination. The residents of the Holden estate, who had gathered in Rovel, watched him walk with conflicted emotions.

"Church Leader, and Lord Kyros---please save us."

The followers of Kyros Church prayed to the Church Leader Leviathan and to Kyros.

"Please, give us hope."

And even those estate residents who were not followers of Kyros Church regarded Leviathan as their last hope.

Until recently, they had scarcely believed the stories they heard from Lord Leira Holden.

But regardless of their disbelief, time passed, and finally the day of the Demon God's attack arrived.

In the end, even the residents who had been detached from reality had to accept it.

Just then, Revelof reached the vicinity of the clock tower. The eyes of those nearby were drawn to the appearance of the Kyros Church's Church Leader.

The knights of the Holden family, including the medical personnel waiting nearby, all looked at him.

Revelof, draped in his black robe, wore glasses as usual, and his golden hair fluttered in the wind.

His excessively beautiful appearance, contrasting with the overcast sky, was almost unreal.

Fanatic, upon seeing him, recalled the orders in his head.

'Fanatic, your unit is to guard around the clock tower. Even if he is the Church Leader of Kyros Church he is, unforeseen circumstances might occur.'

To carry out the orders received from his lord, Lord Leira Holden, Fanatic and his unit waited near the clock tower.

'Of course, the Church Leader is undoubtedly a strong person under any circumstances.'

How this situation would unfold was unpredictable for anyone. Moreover, no one had expected a massive rift incident to occur throughout the entire estate.

'According to the words of the Church Leader and our Lord... High-ranking monsters, known as the Children of the Demon God, will appear.'

Fanatic felt his heart tremble, and tried hard not to show it.

Fear and tension are what make us human, but he doesn't need those when he's leading a unit.

Fanatic was well aware of the power of Leviathan, the Kyros Church Church Leader. He, too, had once received help from Leviathan. Therefore, though he felt some nervousness, he did not betray his trust in Leviathan.

"Is it really safe to entrust everything to that person?"

It was while Fanatic was staring blankly up at the clock tower that the voice of Sein, the leader of Eagle Unit Fanatic was leading, was heard.

Fanatic turned his gaze toward Sein. A man with a sturdy, bear-like appearance came into view. Sein, who, contrary to his appearance, had a hobby of flower-arranging. Fanatic looked at him for a moment before turning his gaze back to the clock tower.

"I doubt that Kyros Church Leader...will be able to handle this matter properly."

Hearing Sein's voice filled with doubt, Fanatic tightly shut his eyes and then opened them. Staring at Leviathan, he said:

"Sein, are you looking down on me right now? No---rather, it even sounds like you are looking down our Lord, Count Holden."

"I---I did not mean it that way...!"

At Fanatic's cold words, Sein became flustered and embarrassed. Then Fanatic's lips curved into a slight smile, as if he were joking.

"Yes. I know what you meant. But remember that, as the unit leader, if you---of all people---say such things, it can clearly be regarded as a violation of orders and considered punishable."

"I'm sorry."

"All these matters have been decided by our Lord, and we simply have to follow her orders."

"Yes. I'll keep that in mind."

Fanatic slowly nodded as he listened to Sein's answer. Then he smiled playfully.

"Well, I get why you're worried. You probably have never actually witnessed what that person has done firsthand."

During the previous battle, when Fanatic had received help from Leviathan, Sein had been unable to participate due to his injury. No matter how many stories one hears about Leviathan's achievements, seeing it with one's own eyes is an entirely different matter.

Fanatic himself, had he been in a situation similar to Sein's, might not have been able to believe in the sudden appearance of Leviathan.

"But...you can trust him. I'm not saying this simply because I am a follower of the Kyros Church."

A soft smile curved Fanatic's lips. As a member of "WLL(We Love Leviathan) Club", he had often heard everything about what the Church Leader Leviathan had done at the meetings he attended.

He was the savior of this era who had rescued countless people, vanquished the Children of the Demon God, and saved several kingdoms.

And then there was the great and merciful God Kyros who had sent such a Leviathan into this world.

Fanatic stared at the Church Leader standing atop the clock tower, then closed his eyes.

'O Merciful God of Beauty, Kyros, please grant hope to this land. This little lamb dares to ask.'

It was a prayer to dispel the last remnants of anxiety before the full-scale battle began.

Even as Fanatic offered his prayer, time passed by.

[Sub-Quest: Large-Scale Rift Incident (3) --- <Holden Estate Defense Battle> will begin soon.]

[Time Remaining: 30 minutes]

I looked at the system window that appeared before my eyes and then look up at the sky.

'It sure looks gloomy.'

The sky was pitch-black, as if rain might fall at any moment. Perhaps the heavens were aware of the battle that was to come today.

'There's still a little time left, but...'

I glanced around, clenching and then unclenching my fist. Now that I was on top of the clock tower, both Elwin and Rovel came into view at a glance.

I had to protect all the countless estate people down there. That was the mission entrusted to me.

'Losing a few...is not an option.'

Although the quest stated that 80% people had to make it out alive, I was determined to save everyone.

While I was thinking that and surveying my surroundings, I saw Fanatic and his unit nearby.

'Now that I think about it, Mother posted them around me.'

In truth, I didn't really need them. In the imminent battle, if I were to become incapacitated, it would virtually mean our annihilation.

'Well, that could be why they're trying to protect me...'

Once the battle started, I wouldn't need any protection. I was about to receive a special buff from the Administrator, and even Kyros squeezed out the last bit of power he didn't have and passed it on to me.

--Child, are you feeling nervous?

Kyros asked me in a feeble voice. I looked around at the stillness of my surroundings and replied to his words in my mind.

'I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous.'

--Yes. Of course you can't help but be nervous. Right now, not only the lives of our family, countless believers, and the estate residents, but even the lives of your own family members are at stake after all.

'...Yes.'

At Kyros's soft, continuing words, I inadvertently swallowed my saliva. Although I had been trying to remain calm, the anxiety that came to mind at his words made my throat burn. No matter how strong the people around me were, I couldn't help but worry.

And it wasn't only about the senior members. It was the same with Mother and Sevenus.

'I know both of them are highly capable.'

But... No matter how extraordinary a human being might be, fighting against the Children of the Demon God is a daunting challenge.

At the very least, my Grandmother became a follower of Kyros Church and, as the captain of the knight order, she received a tremendous amount of holy power from Kyros.

But, that wasn't the case for Mother and Sevenus.

Mother was said to have skills nearly at the level of a Sword Master, but without holy power she was no match for the Children of the Demon God. The same goes for Sevenus, whose abilities fell a little short to my own.

It was I who saved Sevenus's life in the battle just a short while ago.

In other words, to avoid the future I had seen from coming true, I had to head as quickly as possible to any place where a Child of the Demon God appeared.

Right now, only my Grandmother and I are capable of fighting a Child of the Demon God.

'No, Chester and Troy might be able to handle it to some extent as well.'

Both of them had received special training from Grandmother and were granted a bit more holy power from Kyros.

So even if as many as four Children of the Demon God were to appear at the same time, it should be fine.

'The only problem is their rank.'

The fact that the enraged Demon God might send out high-ranking Children without warning was making me tense.

'Please... Let it be those of a lower rank.'

As I worried, time passed quickly. In the quiet, almost desolate estate territory, you could hardly hear the sound of people's breathing.

With less than a minute remaining, I used the communication channel to reach out to the senior members waiting in each area.

"Everyone, please keep in mind what I told you."

Just 10 more to go!
