"Yeah, it should be around this time, confirm it before going back for summer break."

"That's great, anytime works for me. Just see how the in-laws want to arrange it."

Qin Miao nodded, but after thinking for a moment, he confided in his mom: "Mom, there's something I need to tell you in advance. According to our wishes, we just want to get the marriage certificate without having a wedding. We don't have the time, my work is busy as you know, and the time to rest and be with Qimeng is already limited. Plus, Qimeng has to manage my financial contracts and a studio on her end, she's quite busy too."

Even though Qin Miao's mom isn't a traditional person, she was a bit taken aback by Qin Miao and Qimeng's decision. After a moment, she still said: "Since it's you two getting married, whether to have a wedding is up to you as a couple. I won't say any more, but you need to consider Qimeng's parents' wishes too. We don't want them to feel their daughter is being mistreated by marrying into our family."

Pausing here, Qin Miao's mom seemed to realize that given her son's current status and fame, it seemed like anyone marrying into the family wouldn't feel mistreated...

However, Qin Miao didn't notice the subtle change in his mom's expression. He nodded and said, "I know."

After breakfast, Qin Miao chatted with his mom about the recent happenings in their hometown, sharing about his life abroad over the past few years, the people he met, and which racers on the circuit he had a good rapport with.

Qin Miao also learned from his mom that all the neighbors in the neighborhood were his racing fans, and during each race, they'd all gather on the community ground with chairs to watch his competitions.

Honestly, the fact that everyone he knows is a fan made Qin Miao feel a tiny bit awkward.

But Qin Miao quickly got over it. It was bound to happen one day. Besides, putting aside the years of friendship, everyone he knew was just like the spectators he encountered at the circuit.

The difference might just be that these people watched Qin Miao grow up.

During the time Qin Miao stayed at home, he didn't need to work, so he enjoyed a leisurely life where meals and chores were all taken care of.

Housework and lunch didn't need Qin Miao's attention.

And his mom, for the short period of time, was quite tolerant of her son, showing no displeasure, and would occasionally come to his room to ask if he wanted any fruit or snacks.

Although Qin Miao was indifferent about what he ate, he couldn't eat too much, as he didn't want to risk getting sick or having his body functions drop from eating something unclean.

But if he ate too much, he would still gain weight.

So unless there was something he really craved, Qin Miao mostly declined his mom's offers.

After lunch, Qin Miao planned to return to his room to play on his computer and check in with Qimeng about how her parents felt about them getting their marriage certificate.

But just as Qin Miao, wearing slippers, had sat down in the chair in his room and was considering whether he needed to buy a better computer setup and desk, the door to his house was knocked.

Qin Miao was surprised, thinking it might be Qimeng, and was a bit puzzled as he went to open the door.

Qin Miao could tell Qimeng missed home a lot, and unlike him, Qimeng wasn't all physically resilient. She'd need a day to rest after coming home.

As for his talk last night with his mom about Qimeng possibly coming today?

To be honest, Qin Miao didn't know for sure if Qimeng would come today, and he'd only said 'possibly' to his mom on purpose.

So it couldn't be counted as misleading his mom.

But when Qin Miao opened his door and saw who was standing outside, both he and the person were taken aback.

The person in front of Qin Miao was someone he knew very well — Fan Yue, who had been his deputy class president in high school, and also the 'white moonlight' he quietly liked for a while.

Despite having met many girls abroad who were more striking than Fan Yue, and even purer ones, some of whom were quite forward with him, Qin Miao thought maybe he'd still feel differently seeing Fan Yue again.

Unfortunately, really seeing her again left Qin Miao feeling only calm.

He even had a thought: Fan Yue has an elegant face, but how come her figure doesn't seem as good as Qimeng's?

This thought just passed through Qin Miao's mind before he smiled and called out, "Class President."

"Qin Miao! When did you get back?" Fan Yue's tone was full of surprise, even a bit of excitement.

"Isn't it the F1 summer break now? Plus I haven't been back for over a year, so I'm here to see my mom and stay for a few days. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

By the way, thanks for helping take care of my mom all this time."

Fan Yue waved it off with a smile, "We're neighbors, no need to be so polite, and we're classmates. It's normal to help an old classmate's mom while you're away, just a little thing, talking about it is unnecessary."

"Even so, it's still important to say thank you." Qin Miao said sincerely, but quickly added, "Come in and sit."
