Holy Necromancer: Rebirth of the Strongest Mage-Chapter 1107: They are one
The greatest calamity the universe had ever suffered was one that left it in shambles. It was a catastrophe so devastating that it required all the ancient lords to unite against it, and even then, most of them died in the process.
Known as the greatest catastrophe of any era, the appearance of the Abyss ruined most of the known universe. Despite its impact, no one knew the origins of the Abyss, which had simply appeared one day, like a wild beast intent on devouring everything.
The scenes the Time Lord saw in the memories finally gave him the answer he had long sought. The Abyss, which he had sealed with the help of other Ancient Lords, was none other than the Aether, having somehow gained sentience.
The Aether had always been within their reach, yet they had searched for it everywhere. Moreover the calamity that they suffered through, was one of their own making.
The realization left the Time Lord feeling very conflicted. The Abyss wasn't very intelligent. It didn't seem like it wanted to take revenge for the death of its old friend, who had kept it company all this time.
Instead, it was more like a child that was going on a wild rampage after losing its toy. There was no intelligence behind it, but simply instincts and some semblance of fragmented emotions.
It was the first step that the abyss had taken, towards the process of entering the path of the living, from a lifeless object.
"So that was the link that was missing." The Time Lord rubbed his forehead, as he thought about the problems that could have been solved if they had known about this before.
The Abyss was the Aether, and the Aether was the abyss. And both these things had an enmity with them. He changed the flow of time in the memories, ignoring the unnecessary things.
Within seconds, thousands of years worth of memories had passed, where he saw the civilization in the land of Aether flourish and more Aetherians appear. It was something that he already knew about, so there was nothing significant in it.
The only thing that made him stop these memories was when he saw a person appear before the corpse of the Angel with the leader of Aetherians.
"Wait, what is he doing there?" The Time Lord suddenly exclaimed, watching Karyk enter the corpse.
"You know him, father? He is a really strange person. It was because of him, that I had to live the same day again and again. It took a lot of time before I was able to get past him," the young time lord said.

He only knew Karyk as the person that had killed him multiple times, but even he didn't know that Karyk was the core of the abyss that had taken a human form.
"Is he still in that world?!" The Time Lord grabbed his son's shoulders in disbelief. He failed to control his strength, which almost crushed his son's shoulders.
"H-he was there when I left. He was working with the Aetherians. Why do you look so worried? What is his identity?" The young boy clenched his fist, resisting the urge to groan in pain.
The Time Lord didn't know how to react. Should he be happy that he found the whereabouts of Aether, and the person that he had been looking for? Or should he be upset that the person was hiding in the land of Aether, the place that was hardest for them to breach.
"You truly did well! You have performed better than I expected! You not only found the origins of Aether, but also found its whereabouts!" The Time Lord released his son's shoulders, repeating the same thing again and again.
He was really glad that his son had returned safely with this information. If he came across Aether, then it was already extremely dangerous for him. If he had failed, then this information could never have reached him.
"I need to meet up with the others. You stay here. I should be back in a few days!" The Time Lord looked panicked, a sight that his son had never seen before.
"Father! Who is that boy?" the young lord asked his father, who was quickly rushing away.
The Time Lord stopped. He didn't even turn around, as he answered, "He is the Aether. It seems that even he doesn't remember its past entirely, or the things that it could do. It is a good thing. Because if Aether knew, you never could've survived."
The Time Lord tore the void open, and quickly left the place. He went to meet the other Ancient Lords, as this revelation was more important than anything. He couldn't do this with just the ancient lords alone. He also had to get the Emperor involved.
The young boy was left behind in silence, looking at the semi transparent screen that showed Karyk next to a man's corpse inside the Angel. He watched tears appear in Karyk's eyes.
He couldn't believe it. If these words hadn't come from his father, he would've outright rejected it. The boy that he thought was dangerous, was the nightmarish existence that had led to the greatest calamity of this universe?
Moreover, that was something which happened when that thing didn't even have any intelligence. It was pure instincts, when it was just born. If it could do that when it was just born, then what could it do with intelligence after growing up?
Is that why his father said that he was fortunate that the Abyss didn't remember anything from the era of calamity? Just the thoughts sent a chill down his spine.
He felt so relieved that he had managed to survive. Moreover, now that the elders were going to get involved, it was only a matter of time before everything was going to be over.
He sighed in relief, as he closed the memories.
"It seems I'm not the only lucky person. The other brats that escaped with me, are also very lucky. Now that I think about it, isn't one of them here?" He thought, remembering the message that he had received before.
