Chapter 775: You are sick!

Charlotte was lost in thought, and when she heard Robert ask her a question, she didn’t think much of it and casually replied, "He’s actually pretty good."

Even though Robert ran into trouble later, Ryan didn’t help her, but Charlotte never held any grudges against him.

It was Robert who made too many mistakes later on, lost people’s trust, and ended up like that.

The man heard this, and a slight glint flashed in his lazy eyes. He chuckled softly, his tone a bit nuanced.

Charlotte then caught a hint of jealousy and looked up at him.

She asked Robert, "What are you thinking about?"

Robert: "Nothing much."

"Ryan is my younger brother, born from my dad’s affair, but my dad never raised him. It’s quite pitiful."

Robert’s gaze fell on her bright, clear eyes, and he spoke slowly, "Do you know that by bringing him back, he’ll eventually compete with you for the inheritance?"

Charlotte’s eyes curved, and she smiled, "I don’t care much about those things."

The man lifted his slender hand and gently poked her forehead, "No ambition."

Although he seemed to be scolding her with his words, his tone was normal, lacking the earlier sarcasm.

Charlotte thought that Robert at this age was much cuter than the emotionless appearance he would have later.

She laughed and grabbed Robert’s hand, "I’m tired, let’s go home."

The man watched the smile on her face, said nothing more, his gaze softened a bit, and he slowly responded, "Okay."

The next day.

Charlotte had breakfast early and went to see Ryan.

Ryan was having breakfast in the dining room, and when he saw her and Robert coming, he immediately stood up.

He looked at them nervously, and Robert glanced at his overgrown bangs, instructing the maid beside him, "Take him for a haircut later."

Ryan immediately said, "I don’t want to!"

Robert shot him a sidelong glance, and Ryan shrank back, softly mumbling, "I-I want to see my mom."

"Still not weaned?" Robert said unkindly.

Ryan clenched his hands, looking at him with a bit of anger.

Charlotte was at her wit’s end.

It’s strange; these two clearly have no real grudges now, right? Why do they always start arguing in no time? Especially Robert, why is he always picking on a thirteen-year-old kid?

He’s eight years older.

She stepped in to mediate.

"Ryan, your hair is too long. After breakfast, go get a trim, and then we’ll go see your mom, okay?"

Perhaps because she looked gentle and kind, the somewhat rebellious Ryan glanced at her, slowly lowered his gaze, and murmured, "Okay."

Having pacified the younger one, Charlotte tugged at the older one and pulled him out of the dining room.

She said, "Why do you always bully him? He’s still a kid. Don’t always be so fierce."

Robert was a bit annoyed.

"I bully him?" he sneered, "What makes him worthy of me bullying him?"

"Then you go to work at the company. Ryan and I will go to the hospital."

Robert: "Dream on."

"..."

"Do you think I’ll let you be alone with another man?"

"... Charlotte, "You’re sick."

And really sick!

She was so angry she kicked him, not wanting to deal with this man who even got jealous of her own brother, and turned to go back to see Ryan.

Robert’s face suddenly darkened, and he said in a cold tone, "Come back."
