Hogwarts: Bloodline Legend-Chapter 586 - 167: Return to Diagon Alley!
Just as there is no free breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the world, there has never been goodwill without reason, especially among those wealthy families that have existed for countless years.
Ian knew that Theodore Greengrass and his wife might have some demands of him; however, he never expected that this couple would actually be plotting something like "dragon benefits"!
Faced with Theodore Greengrass’s somewhat fervent gaze, the little wizard felt the need to defend his character, otherwise who knows what rumors would arise outside after he left tonight.
"Sir, Madam, I think you might have misunderstood something. I have no intentions of reshaping the order of the wizarding society. That kind of enterprise is better left to the ambitious ones to plot."
"For me, studying well and then doing something I like after graduation is my pursuit." Ian’s tone was full of heartfelt sincerity.
It was indeed the truth.
His most ambitious plan was just to run a coin minting machine and secretly forge existing currency contentedly, rather than issue currency himself, letting others enjoy the pleasure of counterfeiting money.
Just after the little wizard voiced his thoughts, even before the Theodore Greengrass couple spoke, Lupin was already the first to lower his head, thoughtfully stroking his philtrum.
He believed he knew more information than the pure-blood families, and recalling what he had seen of the little wizard’s research, he felt that what the little wizard was saying now was not quite a lie.
"He indeed does not wish to overthrow the wizarding world; what he likely wants is to overthrow the Muggle world along with it..." It’s no wonder such stormy thoughts rose in Lupin’s mind now.
After all.
Last night, at Ian’s birthday, the "drink" this little wizard gave to those orphans, the more Lupin thought about it, the more he felt uneasy, feeling deep in his heart that it must be some kind of magic potion.
Similar to the magic potion given to the little girl Catherine but obviously more sensationally shocking magic potion; otherwise, the little wizard would not have chosen to evade his question last night.
With such a formidable item as the [Squib Reviving Potion] not being concealed, what exactly was the thing he wanted to hide? Just thinking about it was enough to make Lupin feel an eerie terror.
"Don’t keep your head down there and remain silent! Speak up! You are the one who first ran to provoke that pack of werewolves. You know the reason for my subsequent contact with them." Ian nudged Lupin with his elbow at this point.
The down-and-out werewolf immediately regained his senses, first giving the little wizard a rather complex look, before turning to gaze at Theodore Greengrass, his former classmate.
"Yes, I was the one who went looking for werewolves, and the reason Ian frequently interacts with them is only to study the Wolf Poison Potion. I presume your intelligence can’t possibly not know this." After slightly regaining his senses, Lupin chose to stand on the little wizard’s side, seeing as he would only communicate things with Albus Dumbledore.
Regardless of whether the little wizard had ambition or intentions, the involvement of these Slytherin College guys should definitely be avoided, otherwise, it certainly would not be good for most people—Lupin had deep-set prejudices against Theodore Greengrass, perhaps rooted in the conflicts from his youth.
And Theodore Greengrass evidently also held an unfavorable view of Lupin.
"Some matters are beyond the understanding of you and your few pig-headed friends, Lupin. After so many years, you’re still that self-assured obnoxious figure."
This was definitely the longest sentence Theodore Greengrass had spoken to Lupin tonight. In fact, were it not for Ian’s presence, he might have cursed Lupin directly in the face with an evil charm as soon as he approached his home. You could say that similar resentment would still linger in the hearts of those Slytherin students from back then.
After all.
Students from Slytherin College might genuinely disdain and look down on people from other colleges, yet James Potter’s group definitely constituted a real campus bullying clique. Things like pulling down pants, snapping heads, Levicorpus... The people who fell victim back then surely included more than just Severus Snape.
"Of course, my comments here do not include you, Mr. Prince." After speaking to Lupin, Theodore Greengrass turned solemnly to look at Ian.
"You are too young, so you might not yet realize that many people always harbor expectations and hope for someone as outstanding and brilliant as you."
"For a very long time, there hasn’t been any reform in the wizarding world, and perhaps you sensed this when you stepped into the wizarding world; too many places seem never to have progressed over countless years... While they may appear traditional, such conservatism is not really the result of deliberate action by wizards."
Theodore Greengrass’s words were steady and powerful, carrying the unique voice of a mature man as he stated opinions completely contrary to the mainstream beliefs of many little wizards today.
"If you delve deeply into history, you’ll find that those who drive history forward, whether Muggle or us, are always the most dazzling and radiant new stars."
