Hogwarts: Bloodline Legend-Chapter 569 - 164: The Mystery of Werewolves and Gryffindor (5)
Their eyes still held the frenzy and ferocity from the hunt, but at this moment, they could only helplessly look around.
"Where did they go?"
A werewolf asked rather bewilderedly.
"I don’t know! They disappeared in a flash!"
"Damn it! It’s Apparition! That damn traitor can Apparate!"
"They will definitely reveal our secret! We’re doomed now! We’ll be targeted! We’ll be captured for research! We’ll become the target the Pure-blood Wizards want to eliminate!"
The low and confused howls of the werewolves echoed in the ruins. They ran everywhere, trying to find Lupin in the chaos, but all efforts were in vain. Lupin had already used the mysterious ability of Phantom Shifting to transport himself to a safe place, far away from this group of werewolves driven by jealousy and hatred.
"We have to leave here! Go to Northern Europe! Go to the United States!" The werewolves finally stopped in their tracks, looking at each other with unwillingness and resignation in their eyes.
Just when this group of werewolves was extremely worried.
"Don’t rush!"
Old Werewolf Lucas stepped forward again, his expression somewhat grim and uncomfortable as he saw each of his companions begin to revert to human form.
"It’s all your fault! You pushed them too hard!" Old Werewolf Lucas’s tone was somewhat resentful, clearly knowing that Lupin mastered extremely profound skills to escape.
This was also why he had been attempting to communicate with Lupin, wanting to persuade him to cast the Obliviate spell on the Little Wizard. Yet, the thing he feared most had still happened.
"It’s all Laine’s fault! Laine started it first!"
"Wasn’t it him who fooled us first?"
"Can’t you control your temper? Jenny left you and got together with me not without reason!"
"Damn it! So it was you who took my girlfriend!"
...
A classic blame-shifting moment after failure. Sometimes, it’s these unpredictable reveals that expose well-hidden matters when people are at their wits’ end.
"Enough of this! Is now really the time to discuss such matters? Now is the time when the potential exposure of the Spirit Awakening Potion might bring us serious trouble!"
Old Werewolf Lucas’s roar finally suppressed the two who had started to brawl.
"I know their scent; we can track them..." One werewolf who remained in wolf form raised a strip of cloth in hand and suggested.
"If they head directly to Albus Dumbledore, do you want to challenge that undefeated mythical figure?" Old Werewolf Lucas gave a snort in response.
The werewolves fell silent once more.
They were formidable when gathered together.
But challenging an insurmountable mountain was something they were certainly unwilling to do. Striving for ideals was one thing, but sacrificing oneself for ideals was too foolish.
"Let me think... Let me think... How to salvage this." Old Werewolf Lucas clearly didn’t have a good plan either as he began to pace back and forth among the ruins.
The other werewolves, lacking strategy, could only watch expectantly at this "Alpha Wolf." They followed Old Werewolf Lucas not just because he was a powerful wizard.
But also because Old Werewolf Lucas had a very clever mind.
"I’m just worried that your recklessness might really incur Albus Dumbledore’s wrath... I wasn’t even fully sure of that child’s background information."
Old Werewolf Lucas might indeed be very smart, but he shared the common characteristics with others, so while thinking of countermeasures, he did not forget to complain about his companions’ impulsiveness.
"It’s all Laine’s fault!" 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
The werewolves collectively pointed at the one who initiated the attack first.
"Damn it! Will you ever stop?"
The temperamental werewolf erupted in anger.
And at that moment.
"I can also testify that it’s all Laine’s fault. Oh, is that the right name? It’s all Laine’s fault." A rather young yet determined voice came from not far away.
"Who!?"
The werewolves looked over warily.
There was no place for a child among their group.
"You actually came back!?"
Seeing the Little Wizard make his way through the collapsed street, with several large bags in hand, all the werewolves, including Old Werewolf Lucas, showed incredulous expressions.
What was this?
Lamb to the slaughter?
Couldn’t rest without seeking death?
"Where is your guardian?"
Old Werewolf was the first to snap back to reality, looking around but never spotting Lupin. The Little Wizard scaling over a collapsed wall was indeed alone.
"A damned guardian. I just took a trip to Diagon Alley, collected gifts from my tenants, and he embarked on a grand adventure with the tool at his side.
Ian set the bags down on the ground. After all, gifts aren’t effective for showing off good connections unless they’re in hand. His reason for temporarily putting them down was only to draw his Magic Wand.
"Of course, of course, I’m still aware of what happened earlier, seeing as that tool was under my control, which is why I feel rather stifled now."
"Let’s start over. I will surely give you... something different, something dignified." Ian raised the Elder Wand in his hand, casting his gaze over all the werewolves present.
