His Witch Queen-Chapter 119: Captured
"This...this... is a false accusation!" Queen Elizabeth’s teeth gritted against each other when she can’t help but yell at the top of her lungs.
At this point, her burning gaze was more fierce than any volcano. If someone’s gazes and the daggers could kill someone, the two young maids would have been already presumed dead by now.
However, since she doesn’t hold the power, the danger is already in her head.
The horrific expressions, deep breathing, and the sweat on the entire face were the evidence that nothing could be hidden.
She was exposed, and so were her actions. How?! Why?! And that too so easily?
It struck her and immediately, Queen had her eyes to look at Cyrus, "You..you planted this against me! You wanted to prove me wrong!"
"They are your maids. You swore that their loyalties lie with you. How can I temper them?" Cyrus replied back with a strong blow to Queen’s face.
His every word was a slap on her face, which shattered her holes, dignity in front of the entire courtroom.
Not only was there the tarnishing of the name but also of the title that she held for so long. She’s the Queen of the Gazelle Kingdom.
How can a task like this be carried out to steep so low and harm lady Aura?
"P-Please! W-we haven’t done anything...we are innocent!" The two young maids were crying when they knelt down on the ground and folded their hands into one.
Begging Cyrus to leave them unharmed since they were all innocent. However, everyone present there was already aware of the fact that they were far from being innocent.
Moreover, now the spotlight didn’t remain on one of the maids but shifted its focus on the Queen as well. She had clutched her hand into one, with her hand ready to kill these two maids if possible.
And probably, her heart took over her mind before she stepped ahead to walk into the maid’s direction which was in the possession of the soldiers.
Walking straight away, she had planted two slaps across their cheeks, which were so hard that their sound echoed in the entire courtroom.
"Queen..."
"This is what you get for defaming me along with you." Was the sharp reply she said, but the young maids were too fear-driven to even rebel against this.
The maids had even stopped to proceed that this was done by them but the words given by the queen. How were they supposed to say this loud? Won’t the Queen kill them herself?
Lowering their heads, they both knew that they had been made scapegoats for the Queen and now, their hands were being tied too.
However, all of them had forgotten that Cyrus will leave no stone unturned to hold the real culprit behind her actions. "Queen Elizabeth, your two maids are found guilty. There is no tempering with proofs."
"Everything has happened, if not the entire courtroom. Does anyone else have an objective? Please say so, for us to entertain the necessary objections and clear the doubts." Cyrus had announced it in front of everyone, and the Queen turned around to have a look at all of them who were in the palace.
Her eyes caught sight of the ministers, advisers, and everyone. But not actually open their mouths to come in her support and stand by her.
This was already disheartening for her since she knew too well that her son isn’t even here...
’Where the hell is Alex?’ her eyes searched for his presence. Unfortunately, she found herself all alone.
Not even Lady Sharon took the support of her future mother-in-law, as she had hidden a shelf behind Lady Sierra, who had provided her with the appropriate shelter too.
Lady Tia had taken the opportunity to look at LADY Sharon and then at Lady Sierra, "Why are you guarding her? She is the daughter-in-law of Queen Elizabeth."
"Because she was innocent in this. Why shall I push her into the deep sea of the sharks?" Sierra’s heart still held the soft corner for Lady Sharon and keeping the same in her mind, she had taken the actions.
"But....this might go again. Prince Alex might blame her for not supporting his mother." Lady Tia was worried for the lady Sharon too, but Sierra simply ignored the signs
"He can yell only if his mother is actually innocent. She isn’t and I dare Prince Alex to yell at lady Sharon.."
Lady Tia didn’t persist with his topic anymore either. On the other hand, Lady Ashley’s blood was burning in the pit of fire.
As she glanced at the Queen, her eyes narrowed with a murderous grin stepping on it, "I can never expect this out from you, Queen. You have everything."
"Has lady Aura ever disrespected you? No. Has she gone against you? NO! Then why did you even try to kill her!" Lady Ashley had yelled at the pitch of her lungs, gaining Queen’s attention too.
"I haven’t done anything! Stop putting it on me!"
"You are still in for it? When your maids are caught redhanded?! I can’t believe you at all on this." Lady Ashley’s fury was enough for Alice to step ahead and keep her hand on the lady’s shoulders.
She wasn’t interested in letting Lady Ashley bury her mind on this topic.
However, then she met the Queen’s eyes, but there was no conversation between them. They both had kept quiet as if the thought was much deeper to come across.
A mocking smile had plastered and a fake laugh at the lady of her actions and that too, so vibrating which had put her in this condition.
But to avoid all this commotion, it was Cyrus who had interfered again, "But to get some clarity, I will give the maid the opportunity to speak for herself."
"Soldiers.." he ordered the soldiers to bring the two young ladies to the center of the courtroom.
They were dragged by their arms to the center where they both fell to the ground while the cries were already common sense.
Both of their faces were red with the busting fear and the trembling body.
"Speak for yourself. And trust me, if you try to save someone right now, then your death is quite sure." Cyrus gave the last warning to them from a certain distance.
Even the rest of the members’ eyes were intact at the maids, in the hope it would get some juicy gossip enough to circle too.
Initially, the maids only pleaded with her hands crossed, "Prince..We haven’t done anything...it..isn’t our doing.."
"Please spare us from this.." The maid’s sobs were the common sight to come access but Cyrus’s heart was still on the cold surface, "Your expansion."
The maids regained their consciousness, as the silence fell by. Lifting their heads, subconsciously, they both stared into each other’s eyes and then shifted their focus to look at the Cyrus.
But then, they both lowered their eyes to say this out loud, "W-we...did...this..but it wasn’t our wish. It was on someone else’s orders. "
"Who was the one who gave you orders to poison Lady Aura? And why her?"
"I-it was Queen Elizabeth who ordered us..to give add poison on the Lady Aura’s jewelry wish she had gifted her free time ago.’’ The second maid only said the truth, gaining the chaos and the mumbles of the rest of the members.
Whereas, Queen Elizabeth’s face was turning paler with each time. Her hands went cold, on hearing her name from the maid’s mouth.
As if the bomb had been dropped on her head like any other job, she had tried her best to act normal but it was of no use either.
Meanwhile, Cyrus’s brows lifted again but this time to ask, "Continue."
"We-we added the poison in the lady’s jewelry and then..it must have added to her hand. Thereafter, the food she consumed..the poison traveled into her vampire body. " the first maid told in detail while keeping her head low.
Whereas, the second maid only added the comment, "We both had no idea which poison was the Queen asking us to give. All we did was add poison. And...maybe poison is still in the Queen’s chamber right now."
Hearing this from their mouth raced everyone’s heartbeat. They had tried their best to not react but it was harder to not even say a single word.
Subconsciously, Cyrus had motioned one of the soldiers to go and check the queen’s chamber, which he had no strength even to rebel.
All she did was stand there any other ghost who had been haunted.
And... after a few minutes of silence, the soldier had returned back with a bottle in his hand, "Prince, this maid is telling the truth. The poison was there, in the Queen’s chamber itself."
