His soul-Chapter 65: New Friend
Gina took a sip of the mineral water she had just bought beside the old bicycle that Marco, Gina’s new friend at his family’s house, had repaired. After Marco managed to repair her old bicycle, Gina offered to make friends with the gardener, although Marco was reluctant at first but because Gina kept pushing, Marco finally accepted the friendship that Gina offered him. Gina then pedaled her bicycle to a park which was quite crowded with local residents, because she was tired, Gina sat down on the sidewalk which was quite quiet with her bicycle which she had been leaning on neatly.
While she was relaxing, suddenly the cellphone that was stored in her chest bag vibrated, Gina lazily grabbed her cellphone from her bag. Gina’s smile finally widened when she saw who had called her.
"Hi boss-"
"You disobedient employee, how dare you take too long a day off. Your vacation time ended yesterday, Gina. Why didn’t you come in today?" Francia immediately spoke in her soprano tone as soon as Gina received the video call.
Gina smiled at the boss’s face, which was now covered in sweat. "Sorry, I’m adding to my vacation, boss. You’re not going to cut my salary this month, are you?"
"Damn, you’re really annoying, Gina. Everywhere the truant employee is worried about getting fired, you’re actually worried about getting a pay cut."
Gina immediately stuck her tongue out at Francia who was still nagging.
"Oh yeah, how was your day at your big family’s house? You weren’t bullied, were you?"
"What do you think?" Gina asked with a smile.
"Please, don’t make my emotions go up, Gina."
Gina laughed out loud when she managed to make Francia even more angry, even tears were falling from laughing. After she managed to calm herself down, Gina finally started to tell Francia everything, including the attitude of her two stepsisters who had just bullied her. Francia’s face immediately changed when Gina spoke, she was really angry when she heard Selena grab Gina’s hair.
"Get out Gina, get out of that house. Fix, they’re really unhealthy. I’m afraid you’ll become Cinderella if you continue to be in that house. That’s just the cruel treatment of your two stepsisters, I can’t imagine what your stepmother will do later, Gina," said Francia worriedly.
"My stepmother is nice, Francia. I told you before, she really treats me like-"
"Bullshit, no stepmother is good to her stepdaughter, Gina. What your stepmother showed is Fake, I’m absolutely sure. Believe it. me." Cut Francia on fire. "Moreover, your stepmother has two daughters who are not far from you, I’m sure behind her kindness she already has a bad plan to ensnare you, Gina."
Gina smiled. "No, that kind of thing wouldn’t be possible. Even if he has evil plans for me then I assure you it won’t work, you can take it easy."
"Jesus, you are too naive, Gina. That woman is the wife your grandfather chose to replace your mother, I’m sure she must hate you very much. There is no woman in this world who would accept and take care of a child from her husband’s first wife, even if there was one. must be just a fictional story that can’t happen in the real world. So before something bad happens to you, you better get out of that house, your father is healthy again, Gina."
"I have God, Francia. I believe God will take care of me," said Gina quietly trying to calm the boss who looked very angry at this time.
Francia immediately patted her forehead hard. "Gosh Gina, you are arrrgghhh I’m so excited for you. Come on, think rationally, Gina. God doesn’t just take care of you, there are many less fortunate children out there who need more attention from Him."
"Then what should I do? I can’t lick my own spit, Francia."
Francia was silent, talking on the phone like this really made her impatient. "Yeah, we’ll talk about it later, tomorrow when you leave for work we can talk in more detail. I can’t talk on the phone like this."
Gina’s lips curved. "Okay, then see you tomorrow. You should also go home soon, you must be very tired working alone for days without your beautiful employee."
"Beautiful and stupid to be more precise, yes I’ve closed. Bye." Francia immediately turned off her video call as soon as she waved at Gina.
Gina didn’t immediately put her cellphone back into her bag, she was still thinking about what Francia said. Actually Gina also has the same thoughts as Francia, Gina is not a stupid girl who can’t think. She could also feel that Vanessa’s attitude towards her was too much, but because she couldn’t do anything about it, Gina could only sit back and wait, let alone what Vanessa would do next to her.
When Gina was looking down while playing on her cellphone, suddenly another bicycle stopped right in front of Gina who was sitting.
"What are you-"
"Hi."
Gina’s words stopped when she saw the person who stopped her bicycle right in front of her.
"Marco." Unconsciously mention the name of the gardener who is currently standing in front of him.
Marco smiled. "Yes Miss, it’s me. You don’t mind if I join you?"
Gina gasped. "C-of course you can, this is a public place. Come and sit down."
As soon as he got permission from Gina, Marco quickly got his bike back and sat right next to Gina who was still staring at him without blinking.
"Bike?"
"Yes, it’s mine, Miss."
"No, don’t call me Miss. I’m nobody’s Miss, just call me by my name," said Gina quickly rejecting Marco’s nickname.
Marco shook his head. "But I am a worker in your grandfather’s house, Miss."
"I don’t want to talk to you if you keep using that name to call me," Gina grumbled disapprovingly.
Marco was silent for a moment, he looked confused at the moment. "But it feels weird if you don’t call yourself by..."
"Out like this you can call me casually calling my name, Marco."
Marco quickly looked up at Gina who was smiling at him. "So if I’m outside I can call you by name and at home using Miss?"
"Yes."
Marco’s smile broke wide hearing Gina’s words, he looked very happy to hear Gina’s words. Seeing Marco smile, Gina couldn’t help but smile, after all, smiling is an easy thing that everyone can do for free.
For the first two minutes there was no conversation between Gina and Marco, both lost in their own thoughts until Marco finally handed Gina some chewing gum.
"I don’t like sweets," Gina said quietly, refusing Marco’s gift.
"But this gum isn’t too sweet, Gina."
Gina smiled. "Is it true?"
Marco nodded his head quickly like a child, because she couldn’t bear to see Marco’s disappointed expression, Gina finally accepted the mint-flavored gum that Marco had previously offered her. Without speaking, Gina opened the wrapper of the gum and chewed the gum as soon as it entered her mouth.
"Not too sweet is it?"
"Yeah, it looks like this chewing gum will be on my favorite candy list from now on," Gina replied with a smile.
Suddenly Marco grabbed Gina’s hand and immediately put three packs of chewing gum that were still intact into Gina’s hand. "To all of you then."
"No, Marco. I-I didn’t mean to-"
"I have a lot, take a look." Marco immediately opened his bag and showed it to Gina proudly, his wide smile showing how sincere this young man was.
Gina giggled. "But you don’t have to give me this much either, Marco."
"Shouldn’t fellow friends share with each other?"
Gina was silent, she couldn’t answer Marco’s words. Because she didn’t want to prolong their argument, Gina finally put the chewing gum Marco gave her into her chest bag which she used crosswise.
"I’ve heard what happened to you today, Gina."
"Eh?"
Marco smiled. "All the maids are talking about what Miss Selena did to you today?"
Gina, who still didn’t understand where Marco was talking, was still silent, her eyes looking at Marco with a gaze that Marco couldn’t read.
’Didn’t Miss Selena pull your hair in the room earlier?’
"H-how did you know?" Gina asked subconsciously.
"A house that big has many walls that can convey information quickly, Gina."
Gina was silent, she tried to remember what happened after her two step-sisters ransacked her room and caused trouble for her. Her manik perfectly rounded Gina green when successfully remembering everything.
"Painters earlier than .."
"Yeah, last time you came back when carrying your bike’s why we talked about you." Marco interrupted Gina quickly.
"It turns out that men like gossiping too, apparently."
Marco smirked. "That’s about it."
Marco’s answer made Gina laugh and finally broke, the two of them got into a long conversation that ended with Gina’s endless laughter. Marco turned out to be very good at joking, their conversation that afternoon must end immediately because the sky is getting darker. Gina, who is still getting close supervision from everyone at home, doesn’t want to create an opening for other people to drop her, right? Because the house is not too far away, Gina and Marco don’t ride their bikes. They walked hand in hand on a bicycle path.
When Gina and Marco walked from a distance a black car that had stopped in front of the Sanders family’s house seemed to raise all the windows, but at a glance it was clear that someone sitting in the backseat pulled his camera into the car.
"If you want I can take your bike at once, Miss."
"Marco!"
"We’ve arrived home, Miss. Remember what you said earlier, don’t you?"
Gina took a deep breath, frustrated and annoyed. "Whatever."
Marco chuckled amusedly behind Gina who was now riding his bicycle when he entered the Sanders mansion, several other servants looked surprised to see Gina riding a bicycle. The reason is that so far only luxury cars have passed by in the Sanders residence yard.
Meanwhile, in the car that previously took Gina’s photo, there seemed to be a conversation between the passenger and the driver, before long the expensive car actually went from where it stopped for almost 45 minutes. The same time that Gina left the Sanders house on her old bicycle.
