His soul-Chapter 361: Still the same person
Barcelona International Airport. 5.00 PM
Diego’s arrival was greeted by Charlie who was asked by Julian to pick up Diego.
"Has there been any news about Gina?"
"Not yet, young master."
Diego growled. "Fucking Massimo, where did he hide Gina?"
"Right now everyone is still trying to find out where Massimo del Cano is, young master," Charlie said again trying to calm Diego who was sitting in the backseat.
Diego did not respond to Charlie’s words, his focus was still on his cellphone screen which was displaying several messages sent by his subordinates. Unbeknownst to his father and Charlie, Diego has moved on his own by hiring several private investigators to find where Massimo lives. Diego was absolutely sure that Massimo had not hidden Gina in Barcelona.
Diego just looked up when the car driven by his father’s private driver stopped right in front of the wide open entrance of the Sanders house. Diego immediately got out of the car without the important files in the suitcase, Diego’s mind was no longer focused on his work.
"Son .."
Diego smiled seeing his father who was welcoming him at the door, without hesitation Diego immediately hugged his stepfather tightly.
"I’m sorry, Daddy. I couldn’t bring Gina home," Diego said hoarsely with regret.
Julian smiled, his big hands gently patting Diego’s back. "It’s not your fault, Son. You don’t have to feel guilty."
"Of course it’s my fault, Daddy. I should have stopped that bastard from taking Gina away, now we’ve really lost track of Gina, Dad."
The smile on Julian’s face grew wider when he heard the words of his proud son, Julian slowly released his arms from Diego’s body. "Daddy knows you did your best to save Gina this morning, so don’t blame yourself anymore. Massimo is still too strong for us to fight, Son. He’s not a match for you."
"Daddy doubts my abilities?"
Julian shook his head. "No, Daddy never doubted your abilities. Daddy just doesn’t want you to get hurt, Gina is still in Massimo’s hands right now. Daddy doesn’t want Daddy’s other kids getting hurt because of Massimo."
Diego clenched his jaw. "If I hadn’t been in a business meeting with Mr Xavier, I might have beaten that rotten mobster this morning."
"Don’t talk nonsense, come on, come on in. You must be very tired today," said Julian, slowly changing the subject.
"My strength is still full, Dad."
Julian chuckled. "Yes yes yes ... Daddy believes, but you still have to go into the house because Daddy wants to ask about your meeting with Mr. Xavier this morning."
Having no other choice, Diego finally obeyed his father’s orders to enter the house, as soon as Julian and Diego entered from behind Charlie followed with Diego’s suitcase containing important files from his meeting with Mr. Xavier, the hotel and resort businessman whose name was big in Paris.
When Diego and Julian were talking at the dinner table suddenly from the front door appeared Rosa who was running around still wearing her proud white uniform.
"Diego!!" Rosa’s loud voice could be heard clearly in Diego’s ears, which he had hugged tightly.
Julian, who felt sorry for Diego then patted his youngest daughter’s buttocks in annoyance. "Poor Diego. His eardrums could be damaged if you keep screaming like that."
Rosa pursed her lips. "Don’t overdo it, Daddy. My voice isn’t loud enough to damage Diego’s eardrums."
"Right now maybe not, but if you keep screaming like that in his ear bad things could happen, honey."
Diego smiled at his father’s words. "It’s ok, Dad. My ears are used to hearing this kid’s fake voice, so it feels like something bad like that would never happen." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"Ouchh..."
"Feel it!"
Diego grimaced in pain when Rosa landed a small pinch on his arm, although it didn’t hurt too much but the heat from the pinch was quite annoying.
"Rosa," said Julian warningly.
Rosa who was already angry did not respond to her father’s words, she just sat quietly while enjoying the grapes as if nothing had happened.
Seeing the behavior of his youngest brother, Diego just shook his head, with annoyance Diego ruffled Rosa’s brunette hair that fell like a lion’s hair.
"Diego!!"
"You’ve become a doctor, Rosa. Why are you still childish like this, hm?" said Julian slowly.
"Young doctor, Dad."
"Isn’t the young doctor a doctor too, huh?"
"Indeed, the only difference is that we young doctors still complete a field work program for two years before we actually become doctors," answered Rosa quietly, explaining a little about her profession to her brother.
Diego nodded slowly. "So the point is that the young doctor hasn’t been allowed to perform surgery?"
"Accompanying may, if the main doctor allows it."
"Oh I see, ok I understand now," Diego said slowly nodding his head. "But Rosa, you didn’t graduate from last year, did you? How much longer are you going to be in a field work program like this?"
"About one more year, a field work program like this will be carried out for two years."
"Ishh it’s a hassle, it turns out to be a long process to become a doctor," Diego muttered quietly with a mouth full of salad.
Rose smiled. "Of course it’s a long process, our work is directly related to human life, Diego."
"And that’s why Daddy’s so proud of you, honey," said Julian suddenly joining in.
Rosa immediately turned to her father who was sitting next to Diego.
"Don’t praise me, Daddy. Later I can fly to Titan, oh yeah where’s my gift, Diego?"
"Your gifts?" Diego asked, confused. "Didn’t you leave anything to me?"
"Ikhh... you’re new from Paris, the place where all branded goods are."
Understanding what Rosa meant, a smile grew on Diego’s face. "I’m sorry, Rosa. There’s so much going on in Paris that I forgot to buy you a bag."
"Tch classic excuse, just say you’re too lazy to go to my favorite bag shop. Don’t make excuses," said Rosa curtly.
"I met Gina in Paris."
"Gina, what does it have to do with Gina...." Rosa stopped her words. "Gina, Gina you mean our Gina? Georgina Sanders?"
Diego smiled. "Yes, Georgina Sanders. Our Gina."
Rosa’s eyes widened, her lips wide open. "Y-you’re not joking, are you? How did you meet her? Hasn’t Gina been in Japan all this time with Uncle Patrick’s family, huh?"
"New York, honey. Uncle Patrick lives in New York," said Julian, slowly correcting Rosa’s words.
"Oh not in Japan."
Julian smiled. "No, they used to go to Japan just for a vacation."
Rosa nodded her head slowly. "Ok, forget Japan. Quickly answer my question, Diego. Tell me how did you meet Gina, how did it start? Then why didn’t you take Gina home?" Rosa bombarded Diego with questions without a break, her overwhelming longing for Gina made Rosa very curious.
After wiping his lips with a handkerchief, Diego then told what happened this morning in Paris. Including his unexpected meeting with Gina and Massimo, after Diego put Massimo’s name into his conversation Rosa’s face changed drastically. Her fear of the handsome mafia made Rosa unconsciously grip Diego’s hand who was beside her.
"S-so now Gina is under Massimo’s control again, huh?" stammered Rosa.
"You can say that."
"Oh Jesus, how could that be? Why didn’t you do anything about it, Diego? We all know that’s not what that man did to her, Gina. What if something bad happened to Gina again, Diego?"
"It’s not your brother’s fault, Rosa. Diego was trying to protect Gina, only because Massimo’s people are so much bigger that your brother can’t do anything but let Massimo take Gina away." Julian answered Rosa’s question, replacing Diego.
"Yeah but Gina..."
"We’re still looking for her right now, Rosa. Don’t worry, Daddy’s men are already on the move to find Massimo del Cano’s hideout."
Rosa’s eyes filled with tears looking at her father, Rosa’s memory returned to the incident five years ago where Gina lay helplessly in a hospital bed with several bruises on her body. Remembering that again made Rosa’s tears finally fall profusely.
"What if that guy hurts Gina again, Dad? What if Gina does more than five years ago?" Rosa’s voice trembled slightly as she spoke.
"No," Diego answered quickly. "Massimo won’t be able to hurt Gina again like that again, we will soon find Massimo’s hiding place and bring Gina home."
Rosa nodded her head quickly. "Yes Diego, hurry up and move. Quickly save Gina, poor Gina. I can’t bear it if something terrible happens to her again, hikss...Gina is our sibling, Diego."
Diego warmly grabbed Rosa’s body and hugged her tightly. "Calm down, Rosa. I’ll definitely get Gina out of that jerk’s trap, you don’t have to worry."
Rosa tightened her arms on Diego and cried again in the bosom of her first brother, since seeing what happened to Gina five years ago Rosa became very close to Diego. Especially after her mother was officially divorced by her father, Diego was the second person Rosa shared her grievances with besides her father. Because for five years Selena was busy with her own world, the girl was allowed by her father to pursue his own goals.
That’s why now Selena has become one of Spain’s top models who are very reckoned with in the world of fashion shows, even the name Selena Sanders often appears in various well-known fashion magazines as the best fashion icon. Having a beautiful body, beautiful face and good communication skills managed to make Selena a supermodel. And because of her busy schedule, Selena rarely comes home and gathers with her family members.
"Bring Gina home, Diego. I miss her, there are many things I want to talk to her about," said Rosa softly, barely audible.
Diego nodded slowly. "Yeah, I’ll do my best to bring Gina home."
"Poor Gina. She sacrificed for all of us five years ago, now is the time for us to repay Gina’s kindness."
"Yes, Rosa. Be patient, Gina has to live with us because she is Sanders," Diego said again full of promise.
Rosa smiled, again she pressed her face against Diego’s chest which still smelled good even though she had been doing a lot of activities all day.
"Don’t worry, Rosa. I will definitely take Gina home, Gina is too good for Massimo. The person who deserves to be with Gina is me, I am the man who deserves to be Gina’s partner. The heir to the Sanders family fortune." Diego spoke to himself, his eyes gleaming with ambition.
After learning that almost all of Sanders’ wealth fell into Gina’s hands alone, Diego changed his plans. He intends to make Gina his, then with that automatically all the wealth of the Sanders family will be able to be owned. Therefore five years ago Diego supported his stepfather’s plan to divorce his mother.
