His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 46: Only I Can Bite
Ethan Sinclair didn’t wear a tie today, and Kiana Sutton couldn’t judge whether he was in a good or bad mood at the moment.
In the car, Ethan Sinclair didn’t speak. Kiana Sutton wanted to say something, but Ethan Sinclair didn’t look at her, so she couldn’t express herself.
Once home, Ethan Sinclair carried Kiana Sutton to her room.
His movements were gentle, making Kiana Sutton feel like she was a fragile object, being handled carefully.
But his expression was too gloomy and cold, keeping Kiana Sutton’s heart in her throat, fearing Ethan Sinclair might explode at any moment.
Seeing Ethan Sinclair about to leave, Kiana Sutton urgently grabbed him.
Ethan Sinclair’s cold gaze swept over.
Kiana Sutton got startled and quickly released Ethan Sinclair, but thinking about Joshua Sutton, she pushed through, gesturing, "I’m really sorry about my brother... Please forgive him just this once and show mercy."
Ethan Sinclair let out a light snort, "You’re probably afraid that I won’t let your good brother take his college entrance exam, aren’t you?"
Kiana Sutton pressed her lips tightly, looking quite troubled.
Ethan Sinclair said nothing, leaving the room directly.
Without Ethan Sinclair’s response, Kiana Sutton felt extremely anxious inside.
Not long after, Ethan Sinclair returned. He was holding a bowl with two freshly cooked eggs.
Kiana Sutton looked at Ethan Sinclair, puzzled.
Ethan Sinclair pointed coldly at his face, still bruised, "The bruise on my face was caused by your brother. If by tomorrow morning it completely disappears, I’ll let your brother off the hook. If by tomorrow morning, I can still see the bruise, then your brother..."
Ethan Sinclair didn’t finish his sentence, but Kiana Sutton understood.
She dared not delay, quickly taking the eggs from the bowl to peel them. Fearing Ethan Sinclair might leave impatiently, she pulled Ethan Sinclair to sit by the bed.
Kiana Sutton had little thought while treating her brother’s face.
But treating Ethan Sinclair’s face was different.
The two were very close, and the fresh and alluring scent from Ethan Sinclair wafted to her, quickening her heartbeat.
Yet, his deep gaze remained fixed on her, making her inexplicably nervous.
Once nervous, Kiana Sutton’s hand began to tremble, her teeth unconsciously biting her upper lip.
His deep eyes darkened instantly, Ethan Sinclair’s thumb pressed against Kiana Sutton’s lips, his voice low and hoarse, "Release!"
Hmm?
Kiana Sutton looked into Ethan Sinclair’s eyes with confusion.
The warm thumb rubbed her lip, "This place, only I can bite!"
Boom...
Kiana Sutton’s cheeks flushed instantly.
The atmosphere suddenly turned somewhat ambiguous, causing Kiana Sutton to uncomfortably lean back, yet Ethan Sinclair pulled her by the neck towards him.
Their noses touched instantly, breaths intertwining.
In Ethan Sinclair’s eyes, Kiana Sutton saw unmasked desire, her heart tightened, remembering her waist wasn’t healed, she quickly pushed Ethan Sinclair away.
Worried about displeasing Ethan Sinclair, she frantically explained, "The doctor said I can’t do any intense activities for a month. Can I once I’m healed?"
Ethan Sinclair’s handsome face turned black instantly. He indeed had that idea, but seeing Kiana Sutton’s expression of considering him a beast, he was quite displeased.
So he curled his lip in a cold laugh, "Kiana Sutton, do you think too highly of yourself? You think you’re some hot commodity? Just because a few people compliment you, you really think you’re an angel or a fairy?"
Kiana Sutton shook her head, and continued rolling the egg on Ethan Sinclair’s face.
Out of nowhere, an anger surged within Ethan Sinclair.
When she treated her brother’s face, she was so gentle. Yet with him, she wore this pitiful expression!
"Enough!"
He waved Kiana Sutton’s hand away, the egg fell to the ground, split in half, the yolk spilled out.
The atmosphere, barely tender for two minutes, turned cold again.
Kiana Sutton didn’t know how she’d offended Ethan Sinclair. As she intended to gesture, Ethan Sinclair was already striding out of the room.
Kiana Sutton wanted to chase after him, but her waist hurt too much.
When she finally went out, she learned from Chelsea Chapman that Ethan Sinclair had already left the villa.
All afternoon, Kiana Sutton was on edge, most worried about his facial injury.
If the bruise didn’t disappear by tomorrow morning, what would he do about Joshua?
By evening, Ethan Sinclair still hadn’t returned, leaving Kiana Sutton increasingly anxious. Lying in bed, she thought of what she’d do if Ethan Sinclair prevented Joshua from taking the exam.
But thinking it over, apart from sending Joshua abroad to study, she had no other solution.
However, studying abroad required lots and lots of money, which she didn’t have.
Most importantly, Joshua would probably rather work and earn money than go abroad.
Kiana Sutton sighed heavily, feeling forlorn.
Her phone buzzed, it was a WeChat message from Joshua Sutton.
"Sis, did Ethan Sinclair bully you?"
Below the text was a super vicious emoji, as if ready to fight Ethan Sinclair if Kiana Sutton admitted to being bullied.
Having her dear brother at odds with her beloved man was truly troublesome.
"No, don’t worry, just focus on your studies."
Quinn Sinclair also sent a WeChat message, "Sister-in-law, I heard my brother brought you home. Are you okay? If he bullies you again, you must tell me, I’ll get grandma to deal with him!"
Seeing Quinn Sinclair unconditionally standing by her side, Kiana Sutton felt quite touched. After replying to Quinn Sinclair’s message, she opened her contacts, her finger lingered over Ethan Sinclair’s number.
Should she send Ethan Sinclair a message?
It was past eleven, and Kiana Sutton still couldn’t fall asleep. The door was suddenly pushed open forcefully. Just as she extended her hand to turn on the light, she was drawn into an embrace.
A strong scent of alcohol mixed with familiar perfume invaded Kiana Sutton’s nose, making her realize instantly it was Ethan Sinclair.
Instinctively, Kiana Sutton tried to rise, but Ethan Sinclair’s cold, threatening voice sounded by her ear, "If you’d rather your waist not heal, feel free to move again."
Upon hearing this, Kiana Sutton was too scared to move.
She thought she wouldn’t escape unscathed tonight, but Ethan Sinclair only bit once on her nape, doing nothing else, then fell asleep holding her.
Being held like a pillow by him, Kiana Sutton could not fall asleep at all.
Even if she did sleep, she’d wake up soon frightfully.
Kiana Sutton kept thinking about Ethan Sinclair’s bruise, and at the crack of dawn the next day, she opened her eyes to look at Ethan Sinclair’s face.
Oh no!
Though the bruise had slightly faded, it hadn’t completely disappeared. At least, it was visible to the naked eye.
No way, she couldn’t let Ethan Sinclair see this bruise.
Her eyes lit up with an idea, carefully removing Ethan Sinclair’s hand, she cautiously got out of bed...
