His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 100: Ethan Sinclair Is Kiana Sutton’s Husband
Kiana Sutton never expected Ethan Sinclair to throw that question at her.
His dark, deep eyes fixed on her, carrying emotions she couldn’t decipher.
A wedding?
Back when she fell in love with Ethan Sinclair at first sight, she had definitely fantasized about their wedding.
Back then, she wore a pure, beautiful white wedding dress, holding onto her father’s arm, while across from her stood Ethan Sinclair in a perfectly tailored black suit, smiling broadly as he awaited her.
Her father placed her hand into Ethan Sinclair’s palm, asking him to take good care of her. Ethan nodded, took her hand, and walked her toward a flower-strewn altar.
They exchanged rings, embraced, kissed, and Ethan Sinclair whispered in her ear a promise to love her forever, and for the rest of his life.
But dreams are just dreams. She never had the courage to confess to Ethan Sinclair, so she could only bury that secret, bittersweet crush deep within her heart.
Later on, for various reasons, the two of them became husband and wife, but the wedding she longed for never happened.
If you asked Kiana Sutton if she wanted to make up for that missed wedding, of course she did; she dreamed of it every night.
No one wanted to tell the world that Ethan Sinclair was her husband more than she did.
But she didn’t dare say it, because she knew, Ethan Sinclair didn’t want to have a wedding with her.
The old lady was probably unhappy that Ethan Sinclair turned the questioning toward Kiana Sutton; her expression soured.
Seeing this, Kiana Sutton smiled and shook her head at the old lady, meaning that she and Ethan Sinclair had already been married three years, and there was no need to hold another wedding.
The old lady couldn’t fail to notice that Kiana Sutton was defending Ethan Sinclair. While her heart ached for Kiana, she shot Ethan Sinclair a fierce glare.
How could this foolish boy not see how wonderful Kiana is?
Ethan Sinclair couldn’t stand even a day at the Sinclair Family’s old house— the old lady gave him the cold shoulder, and the housekeepers fussed over Kiana in front of him, as if she were made of crystal and sugar they were afraid to break or melt.
As for him, the young master, they treated him like thin air.
And then there was Kiana Sutton. Usually, as long as he came home, her eyes would follow him everywhere, as if she was afraid he didn’t notice that she liked him.
Now she too was treating him like he didn’t exist, just like everyone else.
So, during the lunch break, Ethan Sinclair dragged Kiana up to the room, stared at her with a cold face, and snapped, "So you plan to live at the old house forever now?"
Kiana Sutton didn’t understand why Ethan Sinclair was suddenly angry.
Her staying at the old house didn’t bother him—so why was he mad?
"I’m heading back to The Montpellier Estates tonight, you’re coming with me!"
Kiana Sutton was stunned. By all logic, since he hated her, he wouldn’t want to see her—so why would he suddenly tell her to go back to The Montpellier Estates with him?
But one thing was clear: since she’d come to the old house, everyone’s routine and eating habits had adjusted for her sake. She felt bad about troubling everyone and didn’t want to impose anymore.
She just hadn’t thought of how to bring it up, when Ethan came looking for her.
Seeing Kiana hesitating, Ethan Sinclair said coldly, "Your brother flunked part of his exams. There’s no way he’s getting into a good university. But I do have a great idea."
Thinking of Joshua’s college entrance exams made Kiana feel quite upset.
But hearing Ethan say he had a great idea, her eyes shone, and she grabbed Ethan’s arm excitedly.
Hiss—
Her fingers brushed against a wound, making her frown in pain.
Seeing this, Ethan Sinclair was suddenly livid. "The moment your half-witted brother gets mentioned, you get this excited—you two really are attached at the hip."
Kiana didn’t pick up on the jealousy in Ethan’s tone. She anxiously asked, "What idea?"
Ethan Sinclair grew more irritable. He curled his lips in a cold sneer, "Come back to The Montpellier Estates with me and I’ll tell you."
Kiana: "..."
Half an hour later, Kiana and Ethan went downstairs together.
The old lady was sitting in the living room sipping tea and watching TV. When she saw the two come down, she ignored Ethan and smiled at Kiana, "Kiana, come try this fresh-picked Cloudveil Mountain Tea."
Seeing Kiana hesitate, Ethan said coolly to the old lady, "Grandma, it’s time for us to go."
The old lady shot Ethan Sinclair a frosty glare. "Go on, no one’s stopping you."
Ethan Sinclair: "..."
If he didn’t know for sure he was a Sinclair Family child, Ethan would have suspected he was adopted.
He shot Kiana a chilly look. Understanding Ethan’s cue, Kiana slowly signed to the old lady, "Grandma, my hand is almost healed. I should head home, too."
"Almost healed is still a long way from fully healed. You’re recovering so well here. Why rush to go back?"
Kiana wasn’t good at lying, especially to the old lady. She was so tense, she nearly curled her toes into the floor.
"I... I have something I need to take care of."
The old lady was no fool; there was no way she couldn’t see that Kiana was being coerced by Ethan.
Thinking it over, her always-cool grandson was suddenly using all his tricks on Kiana, which meant that his resentment toward her must be easing.
"Alright then, if you really must go, I won’t keep you. But you need to be careful with your hand. Don’t use it for now—if you need anything, just let Chelsea Chapman know."
Kiana nodded obediently.
The old lady patted Kiana’s head affectionately, not hiding her fondness at all. "Be good. If anyone bullies you after you go back, tell Grandma immediately. I’ll get revenge for you."
As she spoke, the old lady shot Ethan a death glare—there was no doubt that "anyone" meant him.
In the car, Ethan’s face was thunderous.
Kiana knew that if she were smart, she wouldn’t provoke Ethan at this moment.
But she was so worried about Joshua that she made a poor decision—she nudged Ethan gently with her elbow.
When Ethan’s cold gaze swept over, she shrank back in fear, but still forced herself to sign with difficulty, "You said you had a great idea about my brother’s schooling..."
Ethan Sinclair was seething. Couldn’t she see he was upset? Why wasn’t she trying to comfort him? All she ever cared about was that useless brother of hers!
Ethan sneered, "I lied. There is no idea."
Kiana looked at Ethan in complete disbelief, so angry her eyes reddened—how could he joke about something so important!
He gave her hope, just to crush her again!
Seeing her tears fall like broken pearls, one after another, a strange flicker crossed Ethan’s heart and he frowned, "Stop crying!"
Kiana shot him a fierce glare, then turned to stare out the window, refusing to look at him.
Ethan grew even more irritated, especially seeing her turned back. Suddenly, his head began to pound—damn it...
