At Miguel Ivankov’s Villa...

"Dom, have you decided? Are you accepting my offer?" Miguel asked him.

The middle-aged man sat across from Dominique, holding his cup of coffee. He temporarily stayed at his foster father’s villa after the kidnapping incident.

Dominique looked at him reluctantly. He hadn’t thought about it yet. His mind was preoccupied with Athena lately.

’He wants me to take Aaron from her... but I can’t do that to her. She will hate me more...’ Dominique thought inwardly, considering the possible consequences of his actions.

"If this is about being your successor, I’m willing to accept it. But... I don’t want to involve my son in this. Please understand. I don’t want to separate him from his mother."

Miguel frowned upon hearing his response.

"Why? If you won’t take Aaron, do you think Athena will allow you to get near him? And don’t forget about Vladimir. Since he knew your past with that woman... he will make sure you won’t appear in front of the mother and son. He is very possessive."

Dominique fell silent for a moment. He had already expected Vladimir to react that way. If he were in his position, he would also feel the same.

" You are Aaron’s father. You have to tell him; otherwise, they will never reveal the truth to your son. Don’t you want to be with your son? You have to make a firm decision, Dom. Fight them... for your son, fight for custody."

Miguel urged him to make up his mind, encouraging him to take Aaron from Athena.

However, before Dominique could respond to him, Miguel’s assistant entered the living room, interrupting their conversation.

"Boss, young master Aaron is outside. He wants to see Mr. Smith."

Miguel and Dominique were both surprised.

"How did he know that you were here? Does he already know our relationship?" Miguel asked Dominique as they exchanged glances with one another.

Dominique shook his head. "I haven’t told him yet that I’m your adopted son. But I informed him that I was staying here in the meantime."

Miguel just nodded in understanding before signaling to his assistant. "Invite him in. I want to see my grandson."

His assistant left immediately to fetch Aaron. He was accompanied by Enzo.

When Aaron learned the truth about his father, he requested from Athena if he could see Dominique as soon as possible.

With his wish, Athena allowed Aaron to do so; however, she didn’t want to go with him to avoid seeing Dominique. Enzo volunteered to accompany his nephew.

It did not take long before the assistant escorted Aaron to the living room, leaving Enzo behind. Enzo was not permitted to enter the villa. Aaron was the only exception.

"Aaron," Miguel uttered his name, unable to control his longing for the young child. After all, he still wanted to treat him like his own grandson.

"Grandpa," Aaron greeted Miguel with a warm smile. But he quickly shifted his attention to Dominique.

Without further ado, Aaron ran in his direction. "Dad!!!" Aaron mumbled with eyes full of love.

Both Dominique and Miguel were stunned when they heard him... calling Dominique ’Dad’.

The two men exchanged puzzled looks at each other before focusing their gazes back at Aaron.

"W-what did you just call me?" Dominique asked him expectantly. He wanted Aaron to repeat his last word.

"Dad! You are my Dad! My biological father!" Aaron responded enthusiastically before pouncing on him. He hugged Dominique tightly.

"Mom told me everything," the young boy added.

Dominique and Miguel couldn’t believe this. They never expected Athena to tell Aaron the truth. But then again, he remembered his request from Athena when they were held captives.

’Does it mean... Athena complied with my request? She finally revealed my identity to Aaron...’ Dominique felt so grateful when he thought about this.

A small smile curled up on his lips as he remembered Athena.

On the other hand, Miguel was displeased by this sudden turn of events. Just a while ago, he was still trying to convince Dominique to take Aaron away from his mother. He believed that Athena would never reveal the truth to Aaron, so he used this as leverage to sway Dominique’s decision.

’Damn it! Now, Dominique will remain hesitant to cooperate with my plan of separating Aaron from that woman.’ Miguel thought to himself, clenching his fists. His face contorted as he watched the father and son hugging each other.

’This is not what I wanted to happen. Tsk. I want Dominique to hate that woman, leaving him no choice but to take action against her.’

Miguel was still lost in his own thoughts when Aaron spoke again.

"I didn’t expect that my father had been on my side all along. No wonder... I felt our connection the first time I saw you, Dad. I was drawn to you."

Aaron broke the hug and gazed up to see his father’s face.

Meanwhile, Dominique smiled and caressed his son’s cheeks. "I felt the same way, son..."

Aaron giggled and nodded before turning to Miguel. "Grandpa, can I talk to my father alone?" He politely requested him.

Didn’t have the heart to refuse the young boy’s request, the old man just nodded before leaving them.

"Who came with you? Where is your mother?" Dominique asked him, staring at the door. He was hoping to see Athena.

"Dad, I’m sorry to disappoint you, but my mom is not here. Uncle Enzo was the one who accompanied me. But the guards stopped him at the gate. He is waiting outside."

Dominique’s eyes turned dim when he heard that. He yearned to see Athena, but she didn’t come with Aaron.

"I understand... son." He said, forcing a smile.

"Is your mom alright? How is she?" He was still worried about her. He knew that Athena was affected emotionally because of the kidnapping incident. She was so frightened.

Aaron smiled, sensing the worried tone in his father’s voice. ’I can feel that my father still loves my mother.’

"Don’t worry, Dad. She feels better now," he reassured him.

Dominique put on another faint smile.

"Come here, son. What do you want to talk about? Why did you ask Don Miguel to leave us?" Dominique finally changed the topic.

"It’s about you and Mom..." he replied promptly.

Dominique was taken aback for a moment, not ready for this sudden confrontation.

"Dad... I can feel that you still love her... so I wonder why... the two of you broke up. Can you tell me the reason why? I wanna know more!" Aaron said, not wasting his time to uncover the story behind his parents’ separation.

Dominique was at a loss for words. He didn’t know where to start or what to say. For him, Aaron was still too young to understand the conflict between his family and Athena’s family.

"Son... It’s my fault. I was the one who pushed her away. I hurt your mother... broke her heart and her trust. I made a mistake in the past... I’ve taken her for granted," he said in his sincere voice.

Dominique paused for a moment. Then he looked straight into his son’s eyes.

"Aaron, will you blame me if I still want to be with her? Will you get mad at me if I try to steal her away from your Uncle Vladimir? Do you think I still have the right to love her..."

Aaron didn’t reply right away. He just stared at his father, observing him intently.

"Dad... the truth is... I am so happy to hear those words from you. At least, I know that my mom is still important to you. As much as I want you to be with her.... However, I can’t decide on her behalf. Only my mother can decide who she wants to be with. And I respect that. All I want is for her to be happy..." Aaron freely expressed his real thoughts about this matter.

He didn’t want to influence his mother to choose between Vladimir and Dominique. All he cared about was his mother’s happiness. If she could be genuinely happy with Vladimir, then he wouldn’t stop her from marrying him, even if he was sad and felt sorry for his father, Dominique.

"But Dad... if you want to try to reconcile with my Mom... then go for it. You have my support. If she still loves you, then... I hope she will choose you in the end. So don’t stop fighting for her. You still have time to pursue her. She isn’t married to Uncle Vladimir yet, so you still have a chance." Aaron didn’t hesitate to encourage his father.
