His Beloved Treasure-Chapter 1797 - 506: Guaranteed to Work? (2)
Mu Yichen went to Lin City with Qiao Yi in the afternoon, while Xi Meng returned to work and saw Zhang Hongyun already hard at work, inadvertently letting out a small laugh.
Xi Meng thought, surely the drama this morning gave Zhang Hongyun a sense of crisis. Zhang Hongyun is a clever girl, so she knows she must first hold onto her current position, even if it’s just a small secretary assistant role.
"Zhang Hongyun!"
After Xi Meng sat down, she turned sideways and called over to Zhang Hongyun.
Zhang Hongyun lifted her eyes to look at her, "Hmm?"
Still immersed in her work, she hadn’t entirely pulled herself out of it.
"Do you have to work so hard? Don’t you feel tired?"
Xi Meng asked her.
"Work doesn’t come easily, no matter how tired I am, I must work hard!"
Zhang Hongyun explained to Xi Meng in a good-hearted manner.
After hearing this, Xi Meng nodded and kindly asked her again, "I’ve heard you come from a good family background. Working so hard here, don’t you feel aggrieved?"
"Sister Xi Meng, honestly, of course, I feel aggrieved. Yesterday, my phone really malfunctioned, but since Mr. Mu said what he did, I have to work even harder, not letting him find any faults with me. That way, I won’t betray being one of his people."
Zhang Hongyun softly explained to Xi Meng, full of sincerity.
Just that last part about being one of his people made Xi Meng find it a bit funny, although she smiled quite kindly.
"Alright! Then continue working!"
Xi Meng nodded without asking further.
However, Zhang Hongyun twisted her body, not in a rush to work, but suddenly got an idea, happily looking at Xi Meng, "Sister Xi Meng, how about I treat you to dinner tonight?"
"Dinner? You probably don’t know that unless it’s for work, my evening time belongs entirely to my family!"
Xi Meng smiled, thinking to herself how long it had been since she had any nightlife. Her child and family meant everything to her, not to mention she had no interest in dining with Zhang Hongyun.
"That’s right! I almost forgot Sister Xi Meng has a lovely little princess, hahaha!"
Zhang Hongyun continued to smile innocently, then turned back to the documents on her desk but thought to herself, she needed to bribe Xi Meng somehow. But what should she send?
Upon observation, although Xi Meng is just a secretary, everything she wears and uses seems quite high-end, apparently not lacking money. If the gift is too cheap, it won’t be pleasing, but to send something expensive...
Zhang Hongyun thought: Looks like this time I’ll have to bleed!
But, bleeding it is for the sake of the big picture.
Zhang Hongyun thought about it and sent Tan Yiwen a WeChat message, "Want to go shopping tonight?"
Tan Yiwen was actually quite surprised that Zhang Hongyun would actively invite him to go shopping, recalling her drunken words last night... 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Nonetheless, he ultimately replied, "Sure!"
He always felt he was quite outstanding, perhaps not a successful person yet but certainly a young and talented guy.
But what does he mean to Zhang Hongyun?
In the afternoon, sitting in the fashion store observing people coming and going, around five o’clock she saw a girl alone pushing open the door, looking at the store with an unintentional glance towards the resting area, surprised when she saw Qin Mu.
Qin Mu smiled slightly, then stood up, "Welcome!"
The girl instinctively gave a sheepish smile, "Thank you!"
Qin Mu just smiled, then calmly looked inside; the staff seemed quite busy.
"Miss, what type of fashion are you looking to buy? I can assist you?"
"Of course, I’d appreciate it. I’m looking to buy a thin summer coat, but if there’s something else suitable, I’ll certainly buy it!"
Qin Mu came out from the sofa and led her inside.
Fan Qing thought Qin Mu might have recognized her, yet they hadn’t met before. Fan Qing felt a bit nervous, always feeling Qin Mu could see through her.
"Welcome, is there anything this guest needs? Shall I take care of it?"
Wang Li happened to be standing inside, seeing Qin Mu walk in with the girl, immediately wanting to handle things.
"No worries! I’ll take care of it!"
Qin Mu gave Wang Li a confirming look, then led the girl inside, where the walls were decorated with various exquisite coats.
"It’s just the beginning of summer, so there’s no need for anything too thin. This light yellow suits you well."
Qin Mu glanced at Fan Qing, then at the opposite side where a key lime yellow coat on the mannequin was prominent, just long enough to cover the hips.
Fan Qing looked at it and asked, "Can I try it on?"
"Of course!"
Qin Mu agreed, then turned to find Wang Li, because she didn’t know where the store kept the clothes. Wang Li already sensed she might be needed, promptly found the size, and handed it to Fan Qing.
After Fan Qing went to the fitting room, Wang Li stood beside Qin Mu, "Someone you know?"
"Not really!"
Qin Mu thought about it; they shouldn’t be considered acquaintances.
Wang Li nodded slowly, but she felt they didn’t seem unfamiliar. From their eyes to gestures, although the girl appeared a bit restrained, Qin Mu’s composed and effortless demeanor made Wang Li feel they must be acquainted.
Inside, Fan Qing was wearing a white camisole; she donned the coat without looking bad. But as she looked at herself in the mirror, she instinctively took a deep breath.
She had come here hoping to encounter Qin Mu, and now that it had happened, she was intensely nervous.
As she pushed the door open and came out, Qin Mu was already flipping through their fashion magazine on the sofa beside, glancing up at Fan Qing with a smile.
"It’s just changing a coat; I don’t know why I ended up in the fitting room!"
Fan Qing awkwardly laughed and said.
Qin Mu still maintained that composed and steady smile, merely telling her, "The camisole inside doesn’t quite match; if you don’t mind, you can pick a slip dress with nice draping instead."
To sell products so subtly is truly difficult.
"Sure! Coincidentally, I wanted to buy a slip dress a few days ago!"
Fan Qing replied immediately, consistently smiling.
Qin Mu didn’t follow, but Wang Li assisted her in choosing a dark cyan slip dress. Fan Qing’s hips were a bit wide, but wearing it did highlight her figure perfectly, especially as her waistline and belly showed no excess fat, perfect as if an eighteen or nineteen-year-old girl.
"How about now?"
Qin Mu remained seated as Fan Qing, having changed, returned to find her with Wang Li standing beside.
"Perfect!"
Qin Mu raised her brows slightly, offering a fair evaluation.
Fan Qing lowered her head, not expecting she’d feel so good wearing it, as if summer had truly arrived. She was accustomed to wearing stiff, high-quality skirts, unfamiliar with comfy fabrics, yet now, she suddenly fell in love with this feeling.
"Thank you!"
Fan Qing earnestly said to Qin Mu with a smile.
Qin Mu stood up from the sofa, "I’m just promoting my products; if you like them, feel free to visit often."
"Alright!"
Fan Qing nodded in agreement.
"Hello! Qin Mu!"
Qin Mu reached out, actively introducing herself.
Fan Qing stared at Qin Mu’s extended hand, her heart suddenly racing.
Qin Mu’s eyes moved slightly, using her gaze to ask Fan Qing’s opinion.
"Oh! Fan Qing!"
Fan Qing extended her hand, although nervous, she still smiled.
Holding the bag, Fan Qing walked out of the store but remained standing there, not moving ahead. She suddenly felt a burst of impulse, wanting to tell Qin Mu the purpose Zhang Hongyun had for working at her husband’s place, also wanting to admit to Qin Mu about her past disruptions at JY Studio, which she now regretted.
——
"Fan Qing?"
