Chapter 71- Unleashing the Monster
Tyler's POV
I ignored Logan's annoying whispers, pretending he didn't exist.
The bastard kept smirking, waiting for me to snap — but not today.
Not fucking today.
Thankfully, something finally caught his attention, and he left my side.
I exhaled deeply, feeling the invisible weight lift off my shoulders the moment he walked away.
Finally, the fucking parrot is out of my sight.
I grabbed my bag and made my way to the lockers, trying to clear my head.
Physics was next in ten minutes.
Great.
This is exactly what I get for choosing to be a science student.
I unlocked my locker, pulling out my physics notebook — only to flip through the pages and see... nothing.
Blank.
Completely fucking blank.
It was as empty as Logan's fucking head.
I snorted under my breath, smiling with mockery.
Maybe I should name this notebook after him — The Logan Edition.
I sighed, shoving the useless notebook into my bag.
There was no time to joke around.
Exam season was creeping around the corner.
Even if they hadn't posted the date yet — I knew it was coming.
And failing...
That would be the final nail in my already fucked-up coffin.
I swung my bag over my shoulder, ready to close my locker — when suddenly, something yanked the bag right off my back.
I stumbled forward, barely catching myself before I hit the floor.
What the fuck—
I spun around, my eyes burning with anger — only to see some random idiot smirking at me like he just won a fucking lottery.
"What's wrong with you?" I snapped, my voice laced with venom.
The guy didn't answer.
He just kept smirking — like he knew exactly what he was doing.
"You must be new here," he finally said, his voice full of mockery.
I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my palms.
"And who told you I'm new? Even if I am... is this how you treat new students?"
His smirk widened.
"Ohhh... You're not new?" He clicked his tongue.
"You're that jerk who cheated on Alexis, and somehow she got blamed."
A wave of heat crawled up my neck.
My heart started pounding in my chest.
I could feel the anger boiling beneath my skin — clawing its way out — but I swallowed it down.
Not here.
Not now.
"Wash your fucking mouth," I warned him through gritted teeth.
"Not everyone is in a good mood."
"Ooooh... or what?" he mocked, leaning closer.
"You gonna cry? Just like you cried when Alexis slapped the shit out of you in front of everyone?"
Laughter erupted from the small crowd gathering around us.
I squeezed my eyes shut, forcing myself to stay calm.
I could already feel that dangerous side of me stirring awake — the side I always tried to keep buried.
The Monster.
I wasn't the type to get angry easily...
But once I snapped...
I wouldn't stop until I saw blood.
"I don't want trouble," I muttered, trying to keep my voice steady.
"Just give me my bag, and I'll walk away."
His smirk widened, his eyes flashing with amusement.
"And if I don't?"
I clenched my jaw so hard I thought my teeth would crack.
These guys seriously didn't know who they were fucking with.
"Please... I don't want any trouble."
"Come get it then, Little Tyler."
He tossed the bag on the floor like a piece of trash — before kicking it across the hallway.
Gasps filled the air.
I could feel every pair of eyes on me.
Whispers.
Laughter.
They're testing you.
They want you to snap.
I exhaled deeply, forcing myself to stay calm.
I walked to where my bag was...
But before I could reach it, one of his minions ran ahead and kicked it even further — sending it sliding down the hall like garbage.
I froze.
My nails dug into my palms so hard that I was sure I'd drawn blood.
I slowly lifted my head, locking eyes with them — the rage bubbling inside me like molten lava.
"Please... don't push me."
The words came out calm... too calm.
But inside...
I was already seconds away from losing my shit.
"Or what?"
A fist suddenly came flying towards my face — but I caught it mid-air.
The hallway went completely silent.
I squeezed his wrist so hard that his smirk instantly vanished.
That's when I felt it.
The Monster... was out.
I shoved him backward, sending him stumbling into the lockers.
Gasps echoed around the hallway — but I didn't care.
He charged at me again — but this time...
I didn't hold back.
I punched him so hard his head snapped back, blood splattering against the lockers.
He staggered, but before he could recover — I grabbed him by the collar and slammed him against the cold metal doors.
Again.
And again.
And again.
The crowd was screaming now, phones out — recording every second of the show.
But I couldn't hear them.
All I could hear was the blood rushing in my ears.
All I could feel was the fire burning inside me — years of bottled-up rage finally exploding.
I punched him again — harder this time — until his face was barely recognizable.
His minions stood frozen, too scared to intervene.
"Tyler, stop! You're gonna kill him!"
I barely even registered the voices.
I couldn't stop.
Not yet.
Not until he begged.
Not until he felt the same fucking humiliation I'd been feeling for days.
His blood was on my knuckles...
But I wanted more.
I wanted to fucking end him.
I pulled my fist back, ready to deliver the final blow—
"TYLER, STOP!"
The voice sliced through the chaos like a knife.
My whole body locked up.
I knew that voice.
I would recognize it anywhere.
I turned my head slowly — my chest heaving.
Mom...
She stood at the edge of the crowd, her face pale — tears pooling in her eyes.
"Please, baby... let him go."
My heart dropped into my stomach.
The fire inside me slowly began to flicker out.
I glanced down...
And for the first time — I really saw him.
His face was swollen.
Bloody.
Barely breathing.
Fuck...
What the hell did I just do?
I stumbled back, my bloodied fists shaking.
The hallway was dead silent now — except for the sound of him groaning in pain.
"You... you... you, you, and you..."
A cold, authoritative voice echoed through the hall.
I looked up to see Principal Agnes standing at the end of the hallway — her arms crossed, her face like stone.
"My office... NOW."
Fuck.
