Chapter 115- The Nightmare Called Naomi

Tyler's POV

I didn't answer Naomi.

She could shout all she wanted. Bang on my door all she wanted.

I wasn't coming out.

But Naomi wasn't the type to give up.

The banging on my door grew louder, shaking the entire damn house. What the hell is she made of?

That was when I heard my mom's voice.

"Naomi, why are you trying to break my son's door down?" she asked, sounding way too amused.

Finally, someone to get this menace off my back.

But then Naomi, the master manipulator, spoke.

"Tyler promised to give me an extra class, but now he's hiding in there and refusing to come out. And he knows he owes me for hurting my feelings."

I rolled my eyes so hard I almost saw my brain.

I did not promise her extra class.

She was the one who suggested it, and I had just grunted in response. How did that turn into a promise?

I wanted to open the door, argue with her, tell her she was lying through her teeth.

But that would cost me my sleep.

And I wasn't ready for that sacrifice.

Because knowing Naomi, if I so much as made a sound, she wouldn't leave until I came out—so the smartest thing to do was to stay silent and let her say whatever the hell she wanted.

But of course, she didn't stop there.

"You know Tyler owes me, ma'am," she continued dramatically. "So he needs to come out and do the needful. Or else, I'm breaking down this door! And I know you'd support me, because let's be honest, Tyler is a jerk."

I heard my mom chuckle.

And that was when I knew—I was doomed.

Oh, so she was enjoying this?

Great.

Just great.

The fact remained—I wasn't coming out of this room until I finished my damn sleep.

Naomi could knock until the end of the world for all I cared.

I. Didn't. Give. A. Fuck.

"Tyler, you can hear her," my mom called out, still laughing. "Bring your stubborn ass downstairs and teach her what she needs to know."

So now I'm the stubborn one?

The one who was banging on my door like a psycho wasn't stubborn?

But me, the innocent one just trying to get some rest, was the problem?

Oh wow.

I shook my head.

Naomi was still knocking like she was possessed.

Shouldn't my mom be telling her to go to the living room and wait for me?

But no.

It was like she was enjoying every bit of this.

So annoying.

They are all fucking annoying.

I groaned, shoving my blanket off me and putting on something casual.

There was no point in trying to sleep anymore.

Naomi had ruined it.

Dragging myself up, I stomped to the door and yanked it open.

And of course—of course—the first thing I saw was Naomi's smug face.

Before I could even open my mouth, she slammed a heavy textbook into my hands.

"Be fast, lazy man," she said with a smirk. "We have a lot of topics to cover today."

Then, just like that, she turned and walked away, like she hadn't just assaulted me with a damn encyclopedia.

I blinked at the book in my hands.

What. The. Fuck.

"What the fuck is wrong with you, Naomi?!" I snapped.

"Remember, Tyler—no bad words," she called back sweetly, not even bothering to look at me as she descended the stairs.

I clenched my jaw.

The audacity.

I slammed my door shut and followed her.

"Since when did you become my mom, dearest beloved Naomi?" I muttered under my breath.

And why the hell did she have to dump the heavy book in my hands?

She could've just dropped it on the dining table like a normal human being.

But no.

She wanted me to suffer.

Because she was evil.

I rolled my eyes, dragging my feet downstairs.

When I got to the dining room, I dumped the textbooks onto the table and turned to my mom.

"From now on, never—never—make friends with the neighbors."

She raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"

"This is what happens when you do," I grumbled, motioning at Naomi. "I'm suffering because I know her."

That was my only crime.

My mom burst into laughter.

A mocking laughter.

I turned around and glanced toward the living room.

The man was gone.

Maybe he had already left.

I sighed, shaking my head as I plopped down onto the dining chair.

Naomi sat down across from me, looking way too satisfied with herself.

A Lesson, A Request, and an Unforgettable Discovery

The moment I started teaching Naomi,

We got so caught up in it.

It was like we hadn't just been fighting like cats and rats an hour ago.

The session was going smoothly—almost too smoothly.

Questions. Answers. Solutions.

Everything was just flowing.

For the first time in forever, I actually enjoyed teaching.

It wasn't just about helping Naomi—this was refreshing my own memory too.

And damn, I had to admit—Naomi wasn't just stubborn and loud; she was brilliant.

Annoying as hell, but brilliant.

We kept going until her phone rang, snapping us out of our focus.

She groaned and glanced at the screen.

"My mom," she muttered.

I nodded, giving her the go-ahead to take the call.

She thanked me—like she hadn't been terrorizing me all morning—and left the dining room.

The moment she was gone, I turned to my mom.

"So... what happened? Did he leave?" I asked, referring to the man.

She sighed. "Yeah, he's gone. Now, are you ready to discipline me?"

I burst into laughter.

"You do realize that's going to take a lot of energy, right? We should probably save the 'discipline talk,' the 'running away talk,' and the 'what the hell were you doing in my school' talk for tonight."

She chuckled and nodded. "Fair enough. But I am looking forward to my discipline session."

I squinted at her.

"Why are you acting like a guilty kid begging to be punished?"

She opened her mouth to answer—

And then the door swung open.

Naomi was back.

My mom and I immediately shut up.

I turned back to the books like nothing had happened.

We continued the lesson, and after what felt like a whole year, we finally finished.

Naomi let out a dramatic sigh of relief.

"Thank you, Professor Tyler, for taking time out of your precious schedule to teach a dull student like me," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

I rolled my eyes.

She was lying through her teeth.

Naomi wasn't dull—not even close.

I didn't bother arguing.

I just stood up, finally ready to return to my room and get some actual sleep.

But before I could take a step, Naomi's voice stopped me.

"Wait. One more thing before I finally forgive you."

I turned around slowly, staring at her.

I didn't want her forgiveness.

But knowing Naomi, she was going to force me to ask for it anyway.

So I sighed. "What now?"

She crossed her arms. "You need to take me to Logan's place."

I blinked.

"Excuse me?"

"There's something I need to ask Logan. And it has to be in person."

I frowned. "Why can't you just call him?"

"It's not a phone issue," she insisted. "I need to see him."

I let out a long sigh.

"You claim to know everything about everyone, but you don't even know where Logan lives?" I mocked.

She rolled her eyes. "Tyler, just drive."

I shook my head, grabbed my car keys from the center table, and walked toward the door.

Naomi smirked, victorious.

I hated that.

But I still followed her out.

We got into the car and drove toward Logan's place.

The whole time, my mind was racing.

Something about this felt wrong.

I had this gut feeling—like I shouldn't be going there.

But before I could even process it, we arrived.

We parked, stepped out of the car, and walked toward the house.

And that was when we heard it.

A faint noise.

We knocked.

No answer.

I immediately turned to leave.

Because hell no.

But Naomi?

Naomi was a gossip freak.

And she wasn't leaving without knowing what was happening inside.

"Come on," she whispered, already pushing the door open.

To my absolute horror, it wasn't locked.

The door creaked open, revealing the dimly lit interior.

And then—

We heard it.

A voice.

A sentence that froze me in place.

"How do you think your father is going to feel if he finds out you love men?"
