Chapter 103- Travel Excursion

Logan's POV

"No, Sir Logan, I do not want you to punish me," Naomi said quickly, bowing her head multiple times like a malfunctioning robot.

I smirked. At least she knows what's good for her.

"Good," I said, leaning back slightly. "Now, we're done for today."

I glanced at her, my expression bored. "If you don't mind, you can get out of my sight."

Without hesitation, she spun around and scurried off like the squirrel that she was.

I watched her go, shaking my head. Pathetic.

With that settled, I grabbed my bag and my book, ready to finally leave. The classroom was empty, and the day was officially over.

Time to go home.

But just as I opened the door, I came to an abrupt stop.

A wall of students stood in the hallway, blocking the exit. Almost all of my classmates were there, packed together like canned sardines, their faces twisted in annoyance.

I frowned. What the hell is this?

Then I saw him.

Mr. Luis.

And, of course, standing right beside him like his loyal sidekick was the principal.

My irritation skyrocketed.

What the fuck is happening again?

I scanned the faces in the crowd. Some were furious, others just looked tired, and a few were outright cursing under their breath.

Great.

"Please don't tell me we have another class," I muttered under my breath, my jaw clenching.

We were supposed to be done for the day. What was the meaning of this?

Can't these people just let us go?

Since the beginning of this semester, we hadn't had a single moment of peace. Not from the teachers. Not from the lecturers. Not even from the damn bloggers who kept spreading nonsense online.

Every single one of them was pushing us to the edge, and I was pissed.

The time I was supposed to be spending walking to my car, driving home, and getting as far away from this place as possible was now wasted. Instead, I stood here, glaring at a bunch of idiots, trying to figure out what fresh hell was about to be dumped on us.

The students started filing into the classroom, murmuring under their breath.

"I was literally at the school gate when they called me back. I swear to God, I'm dropping out."

"Another lecture? Bro, I haven't even eaten all day. Do they want me to die?"

"I had one foot inside my taxi. ONE FOOT! Why am I back here?!"

"At this point, I think they're testing us. They're trying to see how long it'll take before we all snap."

I exhaled sharply.

Some of them had already left the school premises, about to board their transportation home, only to be dragged back here.

That had to be hell.

And who else would be involved in something this stupid if not Mr. Luis?

I glanced at the man in question, suppressing an eye roll.

The guy had the worst fashion sense I had ever seen in my life.

Honestly, I sometimes wondered why he and the principal weren't married.

Both of them had been left by their spouses, and honestly, they deserved each other.

Same energy.

Same whack fashion sense.

They would be the perfect tragic love story.

Students were still walking in, their faces dark with frustration, and that was when I saw them.

Naomi.

And Tyler.

Walking in together.

Naomi was holding Tyler's hand.

I clenched my jaw, my fingers twitching with the urge to break something.

But then, I remembered what Naomi had told me earlier—about how there was nothing between them.

I forced myself to relax.

I hope so.

I really do.

Because if I found out that she had lied to me...

If I realized that I was being played...

I wouldn't even need to say what I'd do to them.

I'd just wait for the right moment.

And then, they would feel it.

I inhaled deeply, forcing myself to stay calm as I walked to my seat. Clearly, we weren't going home anytime soon.

Looked like that back-to-back lecture they warned us about earlier was finally about to start.

The principal stepped forward, clearing her throat.

"Hello, students," she greeted.

Silence.

Dead silence.

Not a single soul responded.

I smirked.

Perfect.

That should be enough to show her that nobody wanted to be here right now.

They should keep their damn extra lecture to themselves.

The principal sighed, shifting uncomfortably. "I apologize for disturbing you all on your way home, but I needed to pass out this information as soon as possible. So please, bear with me."

"Principal Agnes, you do not have to apologize to them," Mr. Luis said, flashing one of his infuriating smiles. "They should know this is for their own good, so they need to be grateful and satisfied with it."

I clenched my jaw, my fingers digging into my arms as I crossed them over my chest.

This bastard.

First of all, if he wanted to flirt with the principal, he should do that when they were alone.

Not in front of everyone.

Second of all, the students—including him—had every right to an apology.

No one expected this. No one asked for this.

So they should let that sink into their heads.

I exhaled sharply before speaking.

"Actually, Mr. Luis, we all deserve an apology," I said, my voice sharp and unwavering.

Silence.

All eyes turned to me.

I didn't care. If no one else was going to say it, I would.

Again and again. A million times, if needed.

"None of us were informed that we'd be having an extra class or whatever this is. We deserve to be apologized to because this is completely unexpected." I leveled my gaze at him. "You can't treat us like slaves just because we're students or whatever you think we are."

I let my words settle before continuing.

"We pay for our school fees. This isn't some scholarship program where we owe the school our loyalty or obedience. We deserve respect and acknowledgment, just like you do."

The room went dead silent.

Mr. Luis looked at me like he couldn't believe his eyes—or his massive ears.

The principal, on the other hand, nodded quickly.

"You're absolutely right, Logan," she said, sighing. "That's why I did apologize in the first place. I know this took your time, and I genuinely regret the inconvenience."

I didn't bother replying.

I just crossed my arms and leaned back in my chair.

Whatever this was, they needed to get it over with fast.

Principal Agnes cleared her throat. "Ahem."

Then she continued.

"The reason for this meeting is to let you all know that plans have changed."

My brows furrowed.

What the hell does she mean by that?

Did we even have a plan in the first place?

I glanced around, wondering if anyone else was as confused as I was.

Was there some grand plan that no one had bothered to inform us about?

She must have noticed the confusion on our faces because she quickly spoke again.

"I know you all must be wondering what I mean," she said, shifting her weight slightly. "So I'll explain."

We waited.

She took a deep breath.

"What I mean by plans have changed is that the back-to-back classes the professors informed you about earlier... have been canceled."

Murmurs erupted in the room.

Some people looked relieved. Others looked suspicious.

And me?

I was annoyed.

These people couldn't stick to a single decision if their lives depended on it.

In the last two hours alone, they had changed the plan three times.

First, they announced that our midterm break would be used for physics partner work.

Then, they canceled midterm break entirely, replacing it with back-to-back lectures.

And now?

Now, the back-to-back lectures were also canceled.

I rubbed my temples, exhausted before this conversation had even finished.

What next? Would they tell us we had to start farming for the school?

They needed to get their shit together before dragging us into their never-ending mess.

"Apologies, students," the principal said. "We should have finalized these decisions before informing you all. That was a mistake on our part."

Yeah, no kidding.

Not that anyone was mad about this particular change.

Because who would be upset about not having back-to-back lectures?

The tension in the room had shifted slightly.

People weren't as angry anymore.

But then, she hit us with the next bombshell.

"So, after careful consideration, we've come to a final decision," she said. "Instead of midterm break or back-to-back lectures—"

I leaned forward.

"We will be replacing them with a two-week travel excursion instead."
