HER ALPHA'S CARNAL SINS-Chapter 46: Her Fox

"Where’s my mum?" Barton asked as they dragged him through the kitchen tiles, his feet scraping against it.

"She’s at the venue with the others. W...What happened to him?" 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"I’ll explain later. Let’s carry him off to his room."

After some excruciatingly long time carrying him up the stairs, making sure no one on the guest floor noticed them, they finally took him inside Naomi’s room and dropped him on the bed.

Naomi turned to lock the door and on returning to her bed, she almost fell back.

Barton had lifted Daniel’s shirt up and pulled it off his head.

There on his stomach was a large sizzling flesh turning black. She could see his veins and arteries slowly exposing themselves as his flesh sizzled from whatever had hit him.

She subconsciously held her stomach and staggered back.

"Did you...feel it too?" He asked, bewildered.

Slowly, Naomi sat on the bed just next to Daniel.

"A while ago...it...felt like my stomach was hit by somethung HoT and the next moment it was like," She looked down at her fingers as she confessed "Everything in the whole building scented of wine and lemon and I followed the scent and ...."

"That’s...the mate bond Naomi. But I don’t understand...I thought he rejected you...but it only seemed to make the bond more stronger. How?"

"That’s because she’s a Kitsune. The more he avoids you, the stronger the mate bond gets." Someone or something suddenly said inside Naomi’s head.

Reflexively, she jumped up and snapped her head left and right while Barton just stared at her apprehensively. Apparently,, he hadn’t heard the voice inside her head speak.

"Did yout hear that?" Naomi turned to Barton who just raised a brow in confusion.

"How could he? I’m inside your head!" The feminine voice spoke again causing Naomi to fall back against the bed, holding her head.

"Naomi!" Barton was at her side the next moment, holding her shoulders when suddenly she slowly dropped her arms and the honey eyed boy gulped when they locked eyes.

Her eyes weren’t blue anymore but glowing like the sun.

Daniel slowly blinked, his bright metallic blue eyes fluttering open to see unfamiliar surroundings.

With a complicated look, he swiftly sat up, groaning slightly at the burn on his stomach and the memories came flooding in like a trailer of a horror movie.

Naomi.

That was the only thing that crossed his mind. The way his stomach had hurt was not as severe as before. Throwing down his legs to the ground, he was prepared to find her but froze on seeing Barton bent over someone, shaking the person very vigorously.

"Bart.?"

When his cousin turned, he wasn’t sure what left him stunned and speechless at first. The way his eyes brimmed and gleamed with unshed tears or how Naomi was postrated on the ground like a corpse. Except, she wasn’t a corpse. It would be hard to believe that since her eyss was wide open and was gleaming with a bright light...it was a bit dim but no eyes had ever shone that way before.

Barton ran towards his advancing figure and hugged him without letting him speak. He groaned when he crushed his wound against his stomach and he stepped back.

"It felt like I had lost you. Naomi’s not waking up. The last thing she did was utter your name after curling her hands around yours and that was it ...I’ve tried everything but she isn’t waking up."

"No!!!" He couldn’t stop himself from shouting, running towards the body. "This can’t be...Naomi!!! Naomi!!!" He shook her, more vigorously than Barton had done.

Barton walked to his side and dropped to the floor. Looking straight ahead, he said.

"It’s almost 6."

"I’m not leaving her like this."

"You’re not even going to leave in this condition. You can barely stand on your own."

"I’ll manage" He grumpily said. "Let’s just... focus on what’s more important right now..."

Suddenly Naomi took a deep breath and let it all out like she had been submerged in the ocean and let out after some time. It was so startling that the boys pulled back.

She sat up, her eyes slowly growing dimmer and dimmer till it returned back to her normal color. Absentmindedly fixing her mask over her face, she suddenly realized that it could all be a dream...

Right?

But on turning to her side, she almost fell back on seeing two pair of eyes looking at her in shock and awe.

"She met her fox, Louis...she can feel the mate bond now, I swear it!!! I’ve got so much to tell you about her but I think she’s got it covered." Kelvin suddenly said as Daniel stood up and watched his cousin help her to her feet while she shot him nervous glances.

"You met your fox. Louis?" Daniel inquired In shock. He was surprised that she could suddenly feel the mate bond but now she had a fox who she could actually talk to face to face?

Naomi’s eyes widened as she looked at him. Their gazes locked and it was like they were the were the only ones in the room at that moment. Even Barton who stood, gaping at Naomi like she was a ghost brought back to life went unnoticed by the two.

"H..how did you know?"

"Kelvin. Told me." He then added on seeing the confused look on her face. "My wolf."

Her eyes widened again and her lips fell apart. She looked genuinely interested.

"You can talk to your wolf too?"

"Yes but I’ve not seen him like you’ve seen your... fox." He quickly adds.

"I..." Naomi glanced at Barton whose jaw was still laying on the ground the entire time.

"Dude you can talk to yor wolf?" He probed Daniel further who didn’t look in the least interested to answer him right now.

Naomi’s gaze moved to Daniel’s staomch. Trying hard to concentrate on just the wound on his stomach, she said,

"You don’t have much time left to go to the ceremony. I’ll get a first aid box and help you out. The hydrogen peroxide will help you heal faster". With that, she left, relieved to be alone as she walked down the empty halls, climbing downstairs to the kitchen.

The former loud girls’ chatter wasn’t heard anymore which meant that they had gone to the ceremony. The thought of everyone present at the ceremony and the Alpha missing caused something to shiver down her spine. This would cause a bad impression for Daniel especially since it was going to be his first time out in the public after a very long time.

Barton left the room to go hit the showers and change into something more admireable for the ceremony.

Daniel sat on the bed reminiscing over what Kelvin just told him.

"So you’re saying she’s the one who’s got to reject me? Are you sure you know what you’re talking about?"

Kelvin impatiently sighed.

"Would I even lie to you? You’re bonded to your mate so that makes me bonded to her fox. I know what she’s saying right now and she knows my thoughts as well."

"But why are the others after her. Does she know something about that."

"She doesn’t and even if she does, she might not tell me... and whatever they do, you mustn’t let them take her away. I have a bad feeling about her disappearance. You can’t let her out of your sight even for a..."

"Oh shit!! She’s alone downstairs!"
