Help! the four Alpha's are obsessed with me.-Chapter 181 Chaos night II
Angelo’s car slowly came to a stop in the parking lot of his family residence. He glided the window down and looked to the right, where light illuminated the huge mansion.
The event was finally set, and he sensed he was in big trouble for leaving. Not only did his instincts tell him, but his phone had received countless calls, specifically from his father.
"That guy, jeez. I shouldn’t have done that," Angelo face-palmed, breathing slowly. He got out of the car, closing the door sharply, and walked to the main door.
Outside, he saw new faces—guests, obviously—and among them, familiar ones he recognized as his father’s political friends. Their smiles were all fake, and they all directed their gaze at him, staring at this mysterious man. He was sure he hadn’t spoken to any of them; they were probably trying to gauge his character, which failed terribly.
Ignoring the creepy eyes, he sighed and went to the elevator, taking it to the family’s main block. He stopped at the sound of furious arguments.
Alessandro was raging, asking about him, obviously, but something else seemed to be happening. Angelo could tell it was related to Daniel. He considered sneaking in through another door, although it was a stupid plan that would probably fail, and he wasn’t ready for that.
"Young man, where are you coming from? Do you think you can waltz in here as you wish? What did I say about being needed here, Angelo?" His father’s voice was louder than ever, and it didn’t help that he stood so close.
Angelo’s breath hitched, not knowing where to start. He looked at Dorothy, his grandmother, expecting her to report what he told her, but she kept quiet, looking like a conniving whore.
That was how Angelo thought of her because her appearance irritated him wholly. She wore a wine-colored gown with a big slit at her lap, showing skin, her face immersed in heavy makeup. Her lips had a bold color that made her look like a drag queen. Angelo’s irritation flared before he met eyes with his mother, who was dressed in the same color—seemingly the family’s official dress code. She looked more like a slave, someone pushed around for a purpose and then discarded. He shook his head, not in pity but at her pathetic sight. As ridiculous as it was, she wasn’t even talking. They were all looking at Alessandro like dumb, empty mannequins.
"I asked you a question! Do you think I have all day to waste with you when my fellow dignitaries are outside? Talk to me!" he barked.
Angelo still didn’t answer. He pushed him aside and walked away without looking back.
Alessandro stiffened. The push was violent, almost rebellious and thoughtless. For someone who was always obedient—unlike Daniel, his worst nightmare—it was a profound shock.
"Angelo, we are having an event here! Where are you going?" he questioned, blinking to confirm this was really happening.
Celestine stood there, gawking at both father and son. Her daughter, Lily, kept her face out of the matter while clutching her red dress.
She hated family events because she was always forced to act like they were one perfect family when they were anything but. With her grandma, who had become a nightmare, watching her like a guardian from another universe, she grew more uncomfortable. Why was her brother acting out all of a sudden? And now that Daniel’s death was gaining attention, the Lancaster family was getting more involved, especially Alessandro. His claim about Daniel being a fake son had sparked a secret investigation, freaking the man out so much it made Lily question if he was hiding more skeletons in his closet.
"You see, Celeste, this is why you’re useless! If only you had trained your children well, this wouldn’t have happened! You are useless, so useless!" He angrily took a vase and hurled it at the TV hanging to the right of the sitting room, shattering it on impact.
Grandma Dorothy grimaced, shaking her head in distaste. She was getting pissed by how petty the issue was becoming.
"Alessandro, just go and welcome your guests. You’re wasting unnecessary time here. We can settle this after the long night," she tried to sway his anxiety, even if just a little.
Celeste got up and tried massaging him, only to get kicked so badly she almost collapsed.
She fell down, eyes bulging wide.
"Dirty slut!" he screamed, visibly irritated. He finally walked out, sweeping the issue under the rug. Adjusting his red suit, he stepped out in style as if nothing had happened.
Celeste was shaken to her bone by the shaming words. She could feel tears about to drop, but no one cared for them anyway as they all walked out without another glance.
Once again, she was totally ignored, as if she weren’t part of the family.
"This is my fault! How I wish I had never allowed this to happen to them all. If only I could go back in time and protect all of my kids. If only I could change Daniel’s fate," she mourned.
"I’m so sorry. Please don’t be dead. I love you. A mother loves you. It’s just..." She fell down, crying harder. Being a woman in this family hadn’t been easy. Trying to protect Daniel had made her do so many unspeakable things; now he was confirmed dead. She couldn’t control herself and couldn’t trust that she wouldn’t start crying at the party.
"I’m the worst mom in the whole world. I am just terrible," she sniffled.
A roar thundered from the doorstep.
"Carry your corpse-like body here! My friends are asking for you. Don’t enrage me, woman. Come and entertain them all."
Celeste turned horror-stricken as she decoded the implications of his words.
