Help! Five Beast Alphas Want To Breed Me!!(BL)-Chapter 163: How And Why?
Lioran;
The scary thing about love... is what it becomes once it’s twisted.
Once it’s changed.
People say love never changes. That it never dies. I believe the people who say this are people who were never cursed with the opportunity to prove themselves wrong.
I slice through the air again with my katana as my mind rushes back to him.
For days. Weeks... months I have tried to forget him.
It killed me to do, but I knew if I didn’t let the injury heal, it would fester. And just when I had started to heal. Just when I thought I could finally breathe again... he appeared and ripped apart all I struggled to hold together.
Now I’m bleeding and the blood keeps getting in my way.
"It’s a blessing that I finally have someone I can be myself with." I remember myself telling him, and I stop as that chronic was of regret hits me again.
Elien.
Sometimes I wish I had never met him. So many times I have wished I had killed him on the night I first met him.
And ten again, there’s this infuriating hope... that there’s some explanation to what he did.
That there’s a reason he just... vanished from nu life. Leaving me with the remains of my heart to mourn his departure.
Hoping there’s a valid explanation as to why after all this time, he finally showed up. However, he didn’t come back for me. Hes come back as an omega who belongs to not just me, but all my brothers.
And then he acts like he can not remember me.
He even changed his name.
Why!?
Why had he decided to ruin me so!?
Was a curse crafted for the sole purpose of plunging my life into darkness??
"Conversations in your head!" A voice breaks into my thoughts, and when I whip around, I find Zethar sitting on a rock in a meditation position.
"It’s the first sign of madness. Trust me. I would know." He adds as he tosses a nut into the air and catches it with his mouth.
"Brother." I greet him with a bow, and he scoffs before moving.
With one swift manoeuvre, he jumps off the rock and lands in front of me.
"You’re wallowing in thoughts, and I’m bored. Let’s spar." He says, and I smile as I stare at him.
"You seem to have a knack for eating dust." I ready as I toss him my katana and he scoffs.
"I’m a snake after all. My nose is always in the ground." He replies but that seemingly humble reply is nothing but a ruse.
Zethar is the most mentally unstable person I know.
His temper, his view on life, his thoughts, his... being. Everything about him is a puzzle.
The most intricate puzzle I’ve ever seen.
You never know what goes on in that head of his and he is highly unpredictable.
Many say the absence of maternal affection made him the way he is... but Zephan is much... different from him despite confronting the same fate.
I walk over to grab my katana and when I turn around, I find Zethar bent backwards with his face to the sky and his arm extended on both sides.
He rolls his shoulder and moves his feet forward one after the other like he’s performing some strange ritual dance.
He hums happily as he moves forward, backwards, and all around like that, and I just watch him.
He reminds me a lot of Father. Perhaps they don’t get along much because they are too alike.
He suddenly stands straight and yells into the silence of the afternoon, and I raise a brow at him. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
His dual colored eyes land on me and he grins at me.
"Those eyes of yours can already predict my next move, cant they?" He questions as he points the katana and me, and I grin back as I take position.
"No one can predict you, brother," I reply, and he chuckles.
"Right. I forgot that bit." He laughs before taking his stance, and I watch his black scales crawl up the side of his neck and begin to cover half of his face before a voice breaks our concentration.
"Break it up, boys! We’ve got a letter from Father!" Zephan’s voice comes, and we both turn to him.
Zephan looks at Zethar and raises a brow.
"You were going to spar with him!? I don’t know why Father left me in charge of you both. You’re going to kill yourselves with this constant rubbish." He says in annoyance, and Zethar smirks as he stands straight.
"Yeah? Maybe you should join us sometime!" He jokes, and Zephan rolls his eyes as he opens the envelope in his hand and takes out a letter, however Zethar snatches it from him, and takes a few steps forward before unfolding the paper.
"Ah. Father’s majestic handwriting!" He jokes, and I sigh as I sheath my Katana.
"Zephan!" Zethar starts reading but stops and raises a brow.
"Well, that’s a rather fist up the arse way to start a letter..." He comments, and I smile.
"Just read the letter, Zethar," Zephan says in exasperation and Zethar sighs.
"Alright. Zephan. How are you, and how are your brothers? This is not a letter to check how the kingdom is doing, because I know it is flourishing despite my absence and you and your brother’s excellence in kingdom management classes is paying off." Zethar reads and stops to look up at Zephan.
"That’s the old bag’s way of saying he’s proud of us, if you’re wondering." He says as he winks at Zephan and me, and my smile grows.
He looks back at the piece of paper in his hand and continues.
"Your brother, Koda, intends to marry your omega at the upcoming festival of the Goddess Thalyra, on the next full moon..." He continues, and my heart plops out of my chest.
My smile fades, and my hands grow cold as I process the words.
Elien... is marrying Koda!??
"Oh. Our brother is getting tied down!! I think I underestimated that little chum." Zethar jokes, but this time, I can not bring myself to smile, or find his comment funny.
"You and your brothers have been invited to the wedding, but you have to pick one of you to stay back to hold the fort. We all can not be absent from home. See you soon." Zethar finishes the letter and I stand frozen as he stares at Zephan and me.
"Welp. Have fun. I’ve been wanting to give this kingship thing a try." He says as he smacks the letter back in Zephan’s hand, and Zephan raises a brow.
"You don’t want to go?" He questions, and Zethar shrugs.
"To be king for a few days, or to be a wedding guest? Which do you think is more appraling?" He replies and Zephan turns to me.
"Lioran, are you...?" He begins, but I cut him off.
"I’m not going. Someone needs to stay back to ensure Zethar doesn’t sell the kingdom or push us to war before everyone returns." I reply and Zethar starts laughing.
I turn around on my heels and March off as my heart hammers in my chest.
Elien is getting married to my brother!?
How could you do this to me, Elien!? How... and why!?
