Help! Five Beast Alphas Want To Breed Me!!(BL)-Chapter 158: Prayers
King Wilhelm;
Liandria’s body lay cold in my arms, and fear and anger collide ruthlessly inside me.
I stare at her still face and I feel my heart crack at the frightful thought of losing her.
"Your Majesty, we swear her food was checked. The food tasters are all well. Her food and water... Nothing was added to it." One of the guards says outside the cell, and I grit my teeth.
"Who was her last guest?" I demand, and he falls silent.
I look up at him and find him fidgeting.
"Who was her last guest!?" I rage, and he jerks.
"She asked to see Bram, Your Majesty. However, she was still awake when I came to check on her after he left. She was sitting in silence, staring at the wall." He replies, and I stare back at Liandria.
"Leave us," I order, and the men bow before quickly scurrying away.
I gently stroke her hair, and my heart pounds in fear.
Bram.
What has that thorn done now??
I want Rhydian to handle this himself, but is it time for me to step in?
I know in my bones that he did something to Liandria... but what?
I can’t lose Liandria. Yes, she may have made dozens of mistakes. She may have embraced cruelty and wickedness... but it has never erased the love I have for her.
She can be stubborn and cruel, but she’s my wife. The mother of my child. She is important to me in more ways than I have ever expressed.
I shut my eyes, and the desperate prayer slips past my lips.
"Dear Goddess, please... show what is wrong. I can’t lose another spouse..." I whisper desperately.
"Please..." I add, and goosebumps rise along my skin as I feel the atmosphere grow cold.
I slowly open my eyes, and there she is... the ghostly glowing figure of the goddess Thalyra.
"You take advantage of the fact that I always answer when you call." She says softly, and I stare into her bright, purple eyes as she kneels in front of me, on Liandria’s other side.
"Help me, please... She’s dying. I can feel it." I plead, and she looks down at Liandria.
"You’re right. Come nightfall, and she would be gone." She replies, and my heart stops.
"What!?" I respond in shock, and she shrugs.
"She’s been poisoned. And it’s not normal poison. It’s poison made of magic. Fast, and traceless." She replies, and my heart starts pounding.
"She can’t die!" I exclaim, and goddess Thalyra raises a brow at me.
"Says who? This is retribution for all her crimes. She tried to kill a Premodial." She replies, and I exhale in shock.
"But Elián wasn’t hurt." I retort, and she gives me a look.
"Because I stepped in to save him. It was your duty to look after him, yet you sent him to Liandria knowing the kind of woman she is. I know you think you’re wise beyond measure, but sometimes, you’re just reckless." She scolds, and I gulp.
"I know. I already apologised. Please... don’t let Liandria die. She didn’t know any better." I plead, and she looks back down at Liandria.
"She worships another goddess. Why not call on that goddess to save her?" She replies, and I stare at her in stunned silence.
I know she doesn’t meddle with events that concern people who worship other gods, but I didn’t expect her to bring it up now.
"I pray to you," I reply curtly, and she looks up at me.
"Don’t you think I have suffered losing my family enough times? Please... You say primordials are closer to your heart. Hear this Premodial’s plea. Save my wife. When I lost Silya, you said it was her destiny, and I couldn’t interfere. Surely, dying like this isn’t Liandria’s destiny. I can’t lose another..." I plead, and she sighs as she stares at me.
"I’m only doing this because you care for her. If she dares to hurt Elián again, I will take her myself." She warns, and I stare in silence.
"Hold your hand over her." She orders, and I obey.
The white patterns appear under my skin again, and suddenly, my vision shifts.
I see blue fluids flowing through Liandria’s veins, and I know that’s the poison.
"Now you see the poison. Channel it out." She orders, and I take a deep breath.
I shut my eyes to focus, and I sway my fingers over Liandria’s body.
I listen to the fluids inside her swish as I pull the poison through her.
She takes a long, shaky breath, and I know it’s working.
I open my eyes, and I see that the goddess has placed a finger against Liandria’s forehead.
Liandria lets out a gasp as a medium-sized ball of silver liquid floats out of her mouth.
The goddess looks up at me, and then at the liquid floating in the air.
"You’ve saved her. It better be worth it." She says, and I hold my breath.
"And listen... getting rid of Bram? That is not your path." She adds. Her words hang for a second, and then she vanishes like dust drifting away in the wind.
I stare at the poison still floating in the air, and her words replay in my mind.
"Getting rid of Bram is not your destiny."
Rhydian had better fulfil his destiny fast. Before the boy pulls another stunt.
********
Queen Cassia;
"Your Grace? What do we do??" Hilda questions as she paces, and I stop my pacing to stare at her.
"What do we do? There’s nothing we can do. He broke the chain I used to tie him down and climbed up the wall to meet Elián. There is no stopping them until the three days are up!" I snap, and Hilda freezes.
"I’m sorry." I apologise for snapping at her, and she slowly looks away.
I sigh as I walk over to the window and stare out of it.
"Your Grace, do you honestly believe that Alpha Koda will hurt Master Elián? I mean... he loves him very much. Will the intensity of his rut make him..." She questions softly, and I shut my eyes.
"I don’t know, Hilda. I honestly don’t know. And at this point... that is only my second worry." I reply, and Hilda falls silent.
I look up at the ceiling as the loud sound of both of them doing what I tried so hard to avoid rents the castle.
Elián doesn’t sound like he’s being hurt. I’m honestly still here, so at the first sign that he is being hurt, I will try to do something.
It’s not like I can do anything if he marks Koda. I just have to pray it doesn’t happen.
