Hello, Ex! I Finally Found My Worth!-Chapter 160: Cover Up Plan
Chapter 160 - Cover Up Plan
Chloe finally dropped the act. Her lips curled into a smirk, her voice turning cold. "I've worked against you and Hunter all this time, creating a rift between you. I didn't want my efforts to go to waste." She took a step closer, her voice dripping with confidence. "I want to be the owner of not just Stone's Food but everything you own."
A heavy silence fell between them after she said that, different thoughts swirling in Mr. Stone's mind.
Although he had reserved two properties for her which he had built in her name despite not wanting to because of how her mother had duped him into having her, he wished now that he hadn't.
From her words, it was obvious she was as cunning as her mother. Thinking about it now, everything had gone downhill five years ago after she returned into the country with Hunter.

He had thought Hunter was being rebellious because of Chloe's mother had caused Hunter's mother's death but thinking about it now, it just made sense.
Having thought it through, Mr. Stone laughed, his laughter humorless and bitter.
"Over my dead body," he spat, his voice thick with disgust. His eyes bore into hers, filled with something she had never seen before—pure hatred. "Over my dead body would you have everything I own. You're just like your mother. A cunning bitch."
Chloe's expression faltered for a moment. But she quickly recovered, rolling her eyes. "Call me whatever you want, but I will be the one to take everything you own."
Mr. Stone scoffed. "We'll see about that." He reached for his phone. "I'm calling Hunter. He needs to hear this."
Chloe's eyes widened. No. That can't happen.
She lunged for the phone, grabbing at it desperately. Mr. Stone pulled back, but in the struggle trying to keep his phone away from her.
In her bid to snatch the phone, she accidentally shoved him.
Everything happened in an instant and before she knew it, Mr. Stone staggered backward, he lost his balance and fell.
As he fell, his head slammed against the sharp edge of the table before he rolled off to the ground.
Chloe smiled, glad that she had taken his phone and without thinking, dialed the lawyer's line.
She turned to look at her father so she could threaten him into doing what she wanted but immediately she saw him lying still on the floor, she stood frozen, and her breath lodged in her throat.
Her father lay on the ground, his body eerily still. Blood pooled beneath his head, staining the pristine white marble floor.
For the first time, panic clawed at her chest.
"What did I do?" She whispered.
Because she was gripped in panic, she failed to realize that the lawyer had taken the call.
Her heartbeat pounded in her ears as she slowly stepped closer. "Dad...?"
A tremor ran through her hands as she crouched down, pressing her fingers against his neck and her heart skipped another beat when she realized there was no pulse.
Chloe pulled her hand back, staring at the blood on her fingers. Her breathing became ragged. Think, Chloe, think!
She gasped when she realized the call had connected for over fourty minutes and without saying anything, she hanged up immediately.
She needed to do something really fast. She mused, pacing back and forth. She glanced at the door, glad she had asked the house help to leave them.
Now, all she had to do was make them meet someone at the house and not her.
Her eyes darted to his phone, which she was still holding. I need to cover this up.
Who could she frame? She thought, her heart pounding hard against her ribcage.
Just then, a name came to mind and she smiled. Without thinking much, she opened his messages. Her fingers flew across the screen as she typed a text to Hunter, posing as their father.
[Hunter, I need to see you immediately. It's urgent. Come to the house. I can help you get Ivy back if you want to fix things with her.]
She hesitated for a second before hitting send.
Though she wasn't sure but she hoped this could do what she wanted.
Kill two birds with one stone. She was going to frame Hunter for their father's death, that way, he'd be out of the way, leaving her to take everything. She thought with a smile.
Once she was done sending the text, she placed the phone beside her father's lifeless body, wiped her fingerprints off where she could, and took a deep breath.
Without looking back, she walked out of the house.
As she shut the door behind her, she whispered under her breath, "Sorry, Dad... but this was always meant to be mine."
As she got into her car and had driven off out of the mansion, a thought crossed her mind and she stopped the car.
She took out her phone and then dialed a number.
"I need you to do me a favor," she said to the person at the other end of the phone.
"What do you need me to do babe?" The guy asked abd she sighed.
"Something happened and there's someone I need you to take care of," she said abd went ahead to tell her boyfriend all that had happened, telling him who she needed him to take care of.
After the call, she sighed. Though she wouldn't have wanted to get this much people involved but then her father had pushed her.
If only he had done what she had asked him then all of this wouldn't have happened and she wouldn't have been thinking of getting rid of someone as innocent as the lawyer.
He didn't do anything wrong and even though she knew she'd be doing his family wrong by taking their father away, she couldn't help it.
It was either that or risk being caught and being sent to jail. She couldn't afford that. Not when everything was finally falling in place for her.
Her father was dead and Hunter was going to take the fall. Finally, she got to take her revenge.
"Mom, all those that wronged you are about to receive their retribution," she said to herself.
Though her father's death had been a mistake, it was one she didn't regret instead, was happy it happened.
All that was left was for the events after this to go just according to her plan. She thought with a sigh before driving off.
She'd give herself forty minutes before calling the police to her father's house where they'd most likely caught Hunter in the act of killing his father.
What a well thought out cover up plan.
