Chapter 607: Spirit Stone Hunt (1)
Allen told Abigayle and Somei that he wanted 100000000 Spirit Stones.
"That is such a big number…"
Abigayle said that, knowing he had only gathered 120000 Spirit Stones yesterday.
"Yes, but I need all of them to overcome a God's Trial. I realize it's a lot to ask for that, but I hope you can help."
Saying that, Allen bowed to Somei and Abigayle.
"Oh, please don't bow to us, Allen. We're the ones who should be thanking you, and I hope we can give you what you want. Is it possible though, Abigayle?"
"It'll be quite difficult. There aren't enough ghosts in the divine realm for that. If you could wait a few decades it'll be doable, but you need them sooner, right?"
(I don't want to wait decades, or even years. I want them within a month.)
Ghosts would give between 1 and 5 Spirit Stones, but it was hard to say whether all the ghosts in the swarms of Shandar would be enough to produce all the Spirit Stones Allen wanted.
"Allen, are you thinking of…"
Cecile had figured out what Allen's goal was.
Not too long ago they had been in a vast land overflowing with ghosts, but there was no dedicated clan to hunt them, causing the swarms to keep growing unrestrained.
"Yes. This isn't the best place to hunt after all. The Paradise of Primordial Beasts is better."
Allen had obtained Spirit Stones from Abigayle many times already. The last time he got 120000 Spirit Stones, which was no small sum, but it was also nearly the limit of what could be obtained from Shandar.
"Ohh! That's such a good idea!! The beastmen also said they were troubled by the ghosts, so I'm sure they'll also appreciate it!!"
Sophie clasped her hands together and admired Allen's decision.
"The Paradise of Primordial Beasts…"
"Yes, I'd say even half of the wardens here would be enough. How many wardens have you gathered from the 7 clans now?"
"There's around a total of 400000 across all clans. I guess mobilizing half of them would be fine."
Allen asked for the number of wardens available.
(Apparently there's around 9 million dragonkin in the divine realm, but there's only 400000 wardens, and it would only reach around 500000 with the remaining 2 clans.)
Only around 10% of the dragonkin had Talents, and half of that were combat Talents.
The rest were cooks, doctors, or builders. The wardens were those with combat Talents.
The wardens would build forts near ghost swarms and fight them.
Allen's Army was also helping with letting the dragonkin undergo Talent Changes.
Abigayle was the first to undergo Talent Changes, but around 30% of the other dragonkin wardens had also completed that, and more would follow soon.
"Anyway, I'd appreciate it if you could send 200000 wardens to the Paradise of Primordial Beasts. I realize your duty is to hunt ghosts, so you won't be going against that…"
With the necessary equipment and Talent Changes, half the wardens would easily be able to hold back the ghosts of Shandar, while the other half went to gather Spirit Stones for Allen.
"You need those 100000000 no matter what?"
"No matter what. And I have no one else to ask for help other than you."
(To be honest I actually need more. Once I max it out I'll probably find Generation 2 after all.)
This was the first round of Generation, and once it was over, a second one would likely start.
Gathering Spirit Stones required a lot of people hunting ghosts, but Allen's Army could not enter the divine realm. Most of Allen's summons were with Merle in the Earth Labyrinth too.
Only Abigayle and his wardens were left, so Allen asked him.
Abigayle still seemed unsure, since his duty was in Shandar, but then Somei spoke.
"Allen has already done a lot for us, we can't deny that. Can you help him, Abigayle?"
It was Allen who let them undergo Talent Changes and brought the stone.
Now he had let them vilify him slightly just so the dragonkin could unite, so it was fair to do something in return.
"Yes, Lord Somei. You're right."
Abigayle decided to go along with Somei's decision.
"Don't forget that they're all important dragonkin though. Bring them back without a single one missing."
"I'll make their safety a priority. So can I count with their help in my plans then?"
"Yes."
Now that Tokugara had left the room, Allen detailed his plan to hunt ghosts.
It was a really simple plan, so it took less than an hour to explain.
Even in his past life he believed it was better to have simple plans, as confusion could lead to casualties.
***
Later that day, Allen headed to Albahar Village.
Abigayle was accompanying him, while Somei stayed behind in Boaso to complete the deal with Tokugara.
'Hmm, I see.'
Albahar was sitting in front of them, looking at Allen.
Not much time had passed since Allen left with Shea, so they were quickly granted an audience with Albahar.
Allen had just told Albahar to take in the dragonkin to hunt ghosts.
"I seem to remember you also sent Shea to kill monsters for nearby villages…"
Allen said that with a joking voice too.
'Yes, I guess that's true. But why are you making me this offer?'
"It's something I need to complete my own God's Trial. I can't thank the dragonkin enough for offering their help too."
'I see.'
"Though the dragonkin are also…"
'Hm?'
"Actually, I'm not sure if this is something I should talk about, Lord Albahar."
Hearing that, Abigayle turned to look at Allen, confused by that change of topics.
'It's fine, tell me. If it's something important I might have to inform Lord Giran as well.'
"Alright. I still feel like I'm in no position to be talking about the divine realm a lot, but I really feel like dragonkin are being treated too harshly. Even those I've been working with…"
Allen told Albahar everything that happened with Tokugara earlier that day.
Dragonkin were forced to follow the orders of divine people, and were tasked with the dangerous duty of hunting ghosts. They had really poor living conditions compared to divine people, and would seldom have the materials to build proper houses.
But thanks to Allen providing them with stone, Somei was able to rise as Supreme Chief and unite most clans, which led to the meeting earlier that day.
The Heavenly King was trying to tear apart the dragonkin clans.
'Hmm, I see. But I have no intention of becoming the enemy of the Gods or divine people…'
"I understand that, and I have no intention of causing any trouble for you. But if you agree they'll get rid of many ghosts for you. I'm sure that'd be a blessing for the beastmen living here."
'And you're looking for some reward from this?'
"That's for you and the Beast King to decide. All I want is permission to set up multiple bases to have as many dragonkin stationed around here as possible. The more the better."
Albahar had given Shea a trial before, and as reward passed on some of his power so she could use the Skill [Full Beast Mode]. But Allen did not want that for the dragonkin.
All he wanted for them was permission to stay, and a place to live.
The dragonkin had been living in the divine realm for 10000 years already, which led to their current living conditions. Now Allen made sure to specify that all he wanted for them was a place to stay while they hunted ghosts.
If Albahar or the Beast God wanted to reward them with more, it was up to them.
Trying to convince Albahar, Allen bowed so low his forehead was touching the ground.
"I'm sorry…" fre ewebn ovel
Abigayle also did the same, but his eyes were filled with tears. That was all he could do, seeing just how hard Allen was working.
'I assume you'll be targeting areas near other villages as well?'
"Yes. We'd like to set up camp out in the wild to hunt ghosts more effectively."
Those dragonkin bases would become the beastmen's line of defense.
'I see. I'll send word to the other villages then.'
"Thank you very much. Could I ask something else?"
(Alright, let's check on that just in case.)
'Hm? Do you need something else?'
"During my travels I saw the arid land that once belonged to the Fish God. Does that mean there's no Fish God anymore?"
'...Well, there's no Mythical Fish or Sacred Fish. After the Fish God's passing long ago, that territory has been left unoccupied.'
"Thank you for telling me. I'll come to report back once we've started hunting ghosts."
'Please do so.'
Sophie and Cecile looked somewhat confused as to why Allen would ask that, so he decided he would tell them later.
Regardless, Allen had obtained Albahar's permission so they left Albahar Village and flew away, passing over a neighboring village as well.
The area within 100 kilometers from a beastman village was considered their territory.
Allen flew 100 kilometers away from the neighboring village as well.
"Alright, this place should be good enough."
Allen, Cecile, Sophie, and Abigayle landed there.
"Okay, I'll build a base then. Earth Spirit Pigmy, please build us a firm fortress."
Sophie had no pact with an Earth Great Spirit, so she manifested an Earth Spirit.
'Woohoo, got it!'
The spirit looked like a young boy wearing straw shoes and a straw coat, like a rowdy kid living in a remote snowy mountain.
Sophie imbued him with her 100000 Mana, giving him power.
Soon the ground began to shake and crumble, before a portion emerged and went up high into the air.
"Alright, me and Cecile will go around to clear the area of ghosts. Abigayle, you stay here with Sophie to supervise the fortress' construction."
"Okay, we're making it safe for the dragonkin to come here then, right?"
"Got it. I'll make sure the fortress is built correctly."
The group split up.
Allen and Cecile climbed on the Bird B summon, while Sophie continued building the fortress.
"Bee, lay eggs and create an army."
'*Chitter chatter!!*'
The Insect A summon looked like a giant bee, and while its face had no expression, it seemed to be happy to be of service.
The Insect A summon's Awakened Skill [Coronation] would let it create a second Bee, while [Spawn] created 100 Beelings.
Using them, Allen cleared the area around the spot where Sophie built the fortress.
And so they got everything ready for the dragonkin wardens to come.
