HEIRESS REBORN: MARRYING HER EX-FIANCÉ-Chapter 72: The Dark Alley (2)
Tobias Mcclain.
He was literal definition of a stalker and pervert.
Indeed, a person with both tendency was certainly to be feared and handled wisely.
Back in her younger days at the Kingston corporation, Tobias had direct connection to the Kingston corporation as the son of a shareholder.
When Ayana was fifteen years old, Tobias had entered the corporation to work as an intern for a few months.
He had recently graduated from high school and perhaps Shareholder Mcclain had wanted him to experience working in a big corporation. Whatever it was, her life became very disturbed with that flirtatious pervert on her tail.
’’Are you the Young miss Kingston? I did hear rumors of you working in the Kingston corporation despite your young age. I am Tobias Mcclain. You must know my father as one of the shareholders.’’ He first introduced himself to her. Just like his father in her past life, she sensed those eyes of his sweeping over figure in lecherous manner.
Ayana had ignored the handshake in the air. She continued printing out some documents and stapling the papers together.
’’Haha...you’re not an easy one.’’ His smile did not falter as he withdrew his hand. ’’I did hear you’re not one to speak much. Anyway, I just wanted introduced myself as your new colleague starting from today. Our ages are not that far apart. Though I guess you can be called my senior, Ayana.’’ He had referred to her name as though they were friends not meeting for the time.
As if meeting him hadn’t been enough, she had to be working with him in the same department.
’’Hello, Ayana. Will you like to have lunch together?’’
’’Are you going already, Ayana? I can drive you home myself!’’
’’I noticed you don’t drink coffee. Why don’t you try this one? It’s one of my favorites, Ayana.’’
’’Have I mentioned that your beauty is one of a kind, Ayana?’’
In every step of her way in the Kingston corporation had been an unexpected flirtatious nuisance, Tobias Mcclain. When she’s arrives in the morning, when she’s going home, and even when she excused herself.
Ayana could never forget how the flirtatious pervert had cornered her on her way to the ladies. His lecherous gaze and lustful face was disgusting to the point that she almost vomited on the spot.
Fortunately for her, one of the bodyguards in the disguise as an employee reached them before anything could have happen. Even if, she wouldn’t have allowed anything to happen.
Since the Kingston corporation was not a safe place for her with her uncle’s eyes everwhere, Ayana had been learning self-defense under Sam. She couldn’t rely on Sam and the bodyguards all the time, especially when there might be a moment she could not reach them.
There were no cameras installed near the ladies. Who could have proven that she was the one responsible for Tobias if something happened to him? Perhaps the absence of the cameras was the reason why he had been that bold to follow her to the ladies.
One of Ayana’s worst times at the Kingston corporation was certainly when Tobias worked with her for few months. She had to be vigilant against someone as unpredictable as him.
Even if she held complaints against him, she could not voice them out even to the department head. Ironically, Tobias held more power than her because of his father.
The department head had also been one of her uncle’s followers, so one could imagine how she had bottled up the injustice she suffered in the Kingston corporation until she successfully sat on the president’s seat.
A few minutes silently passed by in the dark alley. Tobias laid on the bare ground with his knees and hands tied in captivity. Unlike before, he was much quieter probably because of the pain.
’’Y-You..ugh.’’ He struggled to look at Ayana from the ground. ’’Y-You ruined me, bitch!’’ He hissed, blaming his circumstances on her.
’’Ruined you?’’ Ayana finally spoke up. She narrowed the gap between them and stepped on his forehead hard with the sole of her heels.
’’Urgh....’’
’’Aren’t you blaming the wrong person, Tobias?’’ She coldly stared down at him, wriggling her heels slowly on his head.
’’Why aren’t you blaming the person who had abandoned both you and your father?’’ Ayana watched as he suddenly froze on the ground. ’’If we’re all honest to each other, I’m truly the innocent one here.’’
’’How is your father by the way?’’ She brought up the former Shareholder McClain. ’’I was quite surprised when I learned of his death. Life in prison must have so hard for a man like him, yet my dearest uncle hadn’t even bothered to check up....’’
’’Shut up bitch!’’ Tobias did not last a moment before bursting out in anger. ’’Shut up! Shut up!’’ He struggled fiercely under her heels. At the moment, Tobias wanted to slam Ayana against the walls of the dark alleys.
His father’s unexpected death was the last straw for him and sanity
Though he was unwilling to admit, but those words were indeed the truth. His father died in the prison unable to cope the hard life longer. As for his mother, she ran away from the country with the rest of their family’s money.
Few years ago, they were living the good life, until this bitch had ruined their family. His father had been imprisoned, his mother had fled and their properties had been confiscated.
As someone who had no connection to his father’s crimes, he was released from the investigation. However, as the son of a criminal, his life had become much harder.
Tobias had eventually found a job as a janitor in a middle school, and with some money that his mother had left for him, probably out of pity, he managed a rent tiny apartment.
Tobias had always blamed his father for ruining his life. He cursed his mother for stealing their money and abandoning him. Most of all, he resented Ayana for ruining his family.
The years passed and the Eldest master of Kingston had suddenly reached out to him with a proposal. Hearing that it regarded Ayana, Tobias did not hesitate in accepting the deal.
The Eldest master Kingston had also promised him to release his father from prison soon. His father was close to the eldest master, so Tobias had believed his words straight away without doubt.
Besides that, he loved the job that came along with monetary compensation. Though a million dollars was small for someone who had lived a rich life like himself, it was enough to fly out of the country and start a new life. Perhaps he could take his father as well.
However, that would be after his revenge on Ayana Kingston! He might have found her lovable and cute at first, but when she falls from the high pedestal just like him, he could have his way on her and ruin her life.
But Tobias hadn’t expected to have been caught so soon.
The Eldest master had warned him to hide as soon as possible because Ayana would surely carry out an investigation.
Before fleeing the country, Tobias went to withdraw his money from the bank, only to find out that the account had been frozen.
According to the cashier, someone had reported his bank account, and Tobias couldn’t think of anyone who knew this account number other than the Eldest master Kingston.
Without wasting time, Tobias tried the latter’s phone number, however no one answered his call. He tried the phone number numerous times, and the result was the same. This was entirely different from the times when he called and the Eldest master Kingston would pick up immediately.
Knowing that he was on a chase, Tobias decided to forget the money and leave for the airport as soon as possible. However, who would have expected the bodyguards of the Kingston family to have been silently waiting for him?
And here he was, now listening to words that he did not want to hear.
’’Your family ruined my life!’’ Tobias yelled as he grunted in struggles. ’’Your ruined mine and my father’s!’’
The Eldest master Kingston had abandoned him and cut off his tail. Tobias now realized what had happened to him at the bank.
But now, he did not care. The Eldest master and this bitch were all from the Kingston family who had ruined his rich life!
’’You hear me bitch! I’ll be waiting for you at the prison! I don’t care who wins between you and that cunning bastard! If possible, the heavens should fulfill my wish of revenge and imprison the both of you!’’
Ayana quietly stared at Tobias cursing out both her and her uncle.
’’Take him away, Sam.’’ She removed her heels from his face and turned away from the unsightly scene. Her original intention was to extract information personally from Tobias, but it seemed her uncle had quickly erased his trace, judging from Tobias’s anger.
’’You found him near the bank?’’ She glanced at Sam on the side as they returned to the black SUV. Tobias, on the other hand, was held down by the other bodyguards.
’’Yes. According to the cashier, he intended to withdraw money but his account was reported frozen. I believe...’’
’’It was uncle’s doing.’’ Ayana finished the sentence for him. ’’That’s a good one, I’ll give him that.’’
Sam was unsure how to respond to her remark.
’’I never expected much from that pervert, anyway.’’ Ayana murmured, not feeling too disappointed. They would be more chances to trap her uncle in the future.
’’Investigate the bank and find out if uncle has a connection with any of the staffs and higher-ups, Sam.’’ Even if her uncle erased his traces from Tobias, it showed that he had a connection with someone in the bank.
’’Already on it, Young miss.’’ They reached the entrance of the dark alley and soon the black SUV.
’’Thank you.’’
’’Will you be returning home now, Young miss?’’ Sam inquired as he opened the door for Ayana to enter the vehicle.
Ayana froze slightly at his question. Her eyes flashed as though words triggered her memory.
’I almost forgot.’ 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Ayana suddenly remembered that she had dinner date soon with her fiancé.
