Heaven Breaker: SSS Rank Tiger Evolution-Chapter 41: Royal Treatment
’Curious... he isn’t fighting back.’
I thought, realizing that Gravis hadn’t summoned lightning even though I had already brought him to the brink of death several times along the way.
’Did he finally feel guilty for what he did and is allowing himself to be punished?’
For a moment, my heart softened. But as if in response to that thought, Gravis said,
"Truly a selfish bastard who values some random woman he met on the road more than his own blood."
Needless to say, he was immediately sent flying deep into the forest.
’He didn’t regret anything at all. The doubts just keep piling up.’
Soon, we approached a castle carved into metallic black rock. It was vast and imposing, more reminiscent of a king’s castle than that of a mere noble.
"Lightning Tiger doesn’t seem ordinary," I said to Raiden, who chuckled softly.
"It’s a house guarded by a tiger. In what world would we be ordinary? Other nobles should at the very least kneel and lick our shoes when they see us."
He was exaggerating, but it showed the pride he felt for himself and his noble house.
"Even so, I don’t see the entrance," I pointed out as we stared at what looked like a random wall.
"Yes, there’s no entrance here. It’s very far away, on the other side, and I don’t have the patience to go there."
BZZ BZZ BZZ
Lightning coursed through his entire body before condensing into the palm of his hand.
BOOOM
The wall exploded, fragments flying in all directions without discrimination.
I watched with admiration and shock as Raiden walked forward, casually brushing dust off his shoulder.
"Make yourself at home," he said as he passed through. Gravis, on the other hand, merely sighed and followed.
"Master, the stone is expensive and made of a rare mineral. The Lord will be angry about having to spend even more gold on this," Gravis complained.
"To hell with him. I’m the one who fills those damn vaults. All of this is practically mine, and if I want to break my own things, no one’s stopping me!"
I swallowed hard as I stepped through the wall, my eyes analyzing the breach.
"Hm?" I watched as the wall suddenly regenerated, returning to normal—or so it seemed.
BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM
More and more walls were destroyed as Raiden refused to turn even a single corner, insisting on reaching the meeting room in a straight line.
BOOOM
One final wall exploded, revealing a comfortable room with refined furniture and a beautiful servant with angelic features waiting for us.
"Welcome, Guardian Raiden and his disciple Gravis," she said, bowing respectfully. Then she turned her gaze to me and bowed as well. "Welcome, Kai of the Heart of Flames, Great Devourer of Myriads and Slayer of Vlad the Bloody Demon. I hope I haven’t forgotten any of your titles."
I felt embarrassed for a moment, unsure when I had acquired some of those.
"The neighboring lord heard you were coming and sent some gifts. I’ll have them placed in your guest room," she added.
’I think I know who’s been inflating my titles...’ I sighed, hating that noble habit.
"And who is on your back, sir?" she asked, stepping closer.
"Just a visitor who needs some rest."
She nodded and soon summoned a few more servants, who carried Euphy off to an empty room.
"Lord Laxus will be here shortly. In the meantime, I’ve prepared some snacks for you."
She began setting the meeting table as we sat down—me on the floor, unfortunately, since my body didn’t fit on the sofa.
"Tea or coffee?" she asked me.
"Coffee," I replied out of habit, still wondering how I would even drink it, considering the current size of my tongue.
My concern was answered when the maid placed in front of me a cup proportional to my size, filled to the brim with coffee.
I looked at her questioningly.
"We’re used to dealing with tigers. Also, your sofa is on the way. I apologize for the inconvenience."
I nodded.
’I’m already loving this place.’
Soon, a low, wide sofa adapted for me came through the door, and I sat down comfortably, like a king.
Then a slice of cake with frosting and strawberries was served to me. Once again, I lacked hands for the task.
The angelic maid placed a chair beside me, sat down, and began cutting a piece.
"Say ahhh," she said with a cute expression, clearly meant to charm me even more.
I bit into the cake with a smile.
’I really love this place.’
"Your girlfriend won’t get angry, will she?" Raiden asked, while Gravis grumbled even more quietly.
"Let me clarify— we’re not dating," I said frankly. "And even if we were, I doubt that would be enough to stress her out. The way she is, she’d probably want a maid for herself, just like mine."
"In that case, all good," Raiden nodded with a laugh, while Gravis bit his thumbnail in irritation.
"She’s not even a girlfriend and still..." he muttered. I ignored him.
At that moment, the door opened and a young man with cold features entered the room.
Laxus immediately bowed deeply toward Raiden.
"The disciple greets the Grand Master Raiden," he said with full reverence.
"Make yourself comfortable, Laxus,"Raiden replied with a casual wave, and he did.
Laxus sat down on the sofa with a sigh.
"I see you’ve learned how to speak demonic language, Mr. Kai." he said with unexpected respect.
"A precious friend taught me," I replied, glaring angrily at Gravis. "She’s resting in the guest room."
"I see..." Laxus picked up on the hints in the air. "In any case, I hope you had a good journey. Still, I must ask—why did it take you so long to arrive?"
I coughed softly under everyone’s scrutiny.
"We’ve been waiting for you for days, anxiously. We even thought something had happened along the way. We considered that Condor might have kidnapped you—or even killed you. We were on the verge of launching a massive attack against them."
Laxus spoke lightly and respectfully, despite the frightening words.
Lightning Tiger was one of the greatest military powers in the kingdom. An invasion by them truly would have been a massive assault.
Raiden, however, only chuckled.
"I have an idea why he was late," he said, taking a sip of his drink, trying to stifle his laughter.
Gravis and Laxus frowned deeply as I coughed harder and harder.
"And why would that be?" Laxus asked.
"Kai, my boy," Raiden said with a wide, mischievous grin. "You took a few detours, didn’t you? A few dozen of them, perhaps?"
"I might have taken a few..." I admitted sheepishly. "I mean, I was stuck in the castle for a long time and wanted to see more of the kingdom and its forests."
"With your precious friend, right?"Raiden added, laughing.
Gravis’ eyes widened, while Laxus simply nodded.
"That makes sense," Laxus said, suppressing a chuckle. Then he took a deep breath and adopted a serious expression.
"In any case, it seems your journey was not in vain. You look ready for the final mutation, and then evolution. And as I originally promised, I can grant you access to our vault so you may take parts from other creatures and become even stronger."
I nodded. I lacked only fangs, and soon I would rise in rank.
"Do you already know what you want to complement your evolution? I can bring you a list if you need it," he asked. I replied that I did—I had already made my choice.
"I think the right choice couldn’t be more obvious, considering I’m missing only the fangs," I took a deep breath and sharpened my gaze.
’I hope they won’t be offended.’
The air in the room turned cold.
"I want the fangs capable of devouring the sun and the stars. Give me the fangs of the Sun Eater."
