He Does Not Deserve My Devotion-Chapter 76: Nina Walsh Takes an Abortion Pill and Falls Unconscious
Aiden Sinclair drove away from the villa. He hadn’t gotten far when he realized he’d left a document in his study.
This was typical of him—getting carried away when he was happy. Yesterday, he forgot his phone; today, he forgot his files.
He turned the car around and drove back to the villa. The moment he got out, he heard Riceball’s frantic barking from the backyard.
Aiden Sinclair had a bad feeling and sprinted over.
"WOOF WOOF WOOF—"
From a distance, he could see Riceball spinning in circles and barking nonstop while Nina Walsh lay motionless on the ground.
"Nina? Nina? Wake up."
Aiden Sinclair’s heart skipped a beat. He rushed over, carried her back to the car, and then sped to the nearest hospital.
"This doesn’t look good. The patient is pregnant and has likely ingested something she shouldn’t have. Prepare to induce vomiting."
The emergency room doctor immediately induced vomiting on the unconscious Nina Walsh. Within minutes, Nina threw up the contents of her stomach.
The doctor found a partially dissolved red capsule among the vomit.
"Are you the patient’s family? Has she been taking any medication recently?" The doctor showed the capsule shell to Aiden Sinclair.
Aiden Sinclair glanced at it and immediately remembered that Nina Walsh had secretly taken this same pill before.
"She isn’t on any prescription medication. Can you run a lab test on this to see what it is?"
"We can, but it will take some time. The patient and the fetus are both stable for now, but we still don’t know what this drug is. To be safe, she should remain here for observation. When she wakes up, you should confirm with her what this pill is as soon as possible," the doctor instructed seriously.
Nina Walsh was moved to a hospital room. Aiden Sinclair stood by her bedside, looking down at her. The image of the red capsule replayed in his mind, and his expression grew increasingly grim.
A moment later, Jay Keane sent him a photo. "Mr. Sinclair, I found the call history you asked for."
Aiden Sinclair opened the photo and, sure enough, saw an unfamiliar number in the call log.
Last night, when he had stepped out, Nina Walsh had used his phone to call Declan Grant.
She had deleted the call from the phone’s history, which was why Aiden Sinclair hadn’t noticed.
A call also came from the villa. Someone had used Riceball to pass something to Nina Walsh through a hole in the perimeter wall.
Aiden Sinclair looked dejectedly at the woman on the bed. Once again, he had been deceived by her show of affection.
His joy from yesterday was all an illusion—a complete joke.
Just then, Nina Walsh woke up. As she opened her eyes, she met Aiden Sinclair’s dark, unreadable gaze.
She glanced around and saw she was in a hospital. A flicker of disappointment crossed her eyes. ’Did it fail again?’
Aiden Sinclair caught that subtle expression, and her disappointment ignited a flicker of rage in him.
"Tell me, what pill did you take?" His voice was completely flat.
Her reply was even colder. "What else could it be? An abortion pill."
"Declan Grant gave it to you?"
"No, I’ve been hiding it on me this whole time."
Even now, she was still lying.
Aiden Sinclair held up his phone. "I had the phone company pull the call records. You deliberately coaxed me into leaving last night just so you could call Declan Grant and have him bring you the pill, didn’t you?"
"Are you that desperate to get rid of our child, even if it costs you your life? You plan on using this to punish me, don’t you?"
"Yes!"
Nina Walsh cut him off, her voice raised. "You’re right. I don’t want to have them, and I’m doing this to punish you. Why should I be the only one to suffer all this torment? Why do you get to come back whenever you feel like it? Aiden Sinclair, it’s impossible now, even if you got on your knees and begged me. I will not forgive you."
"Even if you lock me up for the rest of my life, I will not forgive you. I don’t love you anymore, and I will never love you again. Don’t you dare dream of my forgiveness, not even if you were dead!"
Aiden Sinclair stood frozen, absorbing every one of her heart-wrenching words. This was his retribution. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
But even though the pain was so unbearable he could die, he didn’t want to let go.
"I don’t believe you. There has to be a way to win your heart back."
Aiden Sinclair left Nina Walsh in the care of a maid and drove to Declan Grant’s residence.
"Sinclair—"
Declan Grant had barely opened his mouth when Aiden Sinclair threw a punch. Declan didn’t have time to dodge and took the hit to his face.
"You’re a doctor, not an executioner! Why would you harm Nina!"
Fury flared in Declan Grant, and he retaliated with a punch of his own, striking Aiden Sinclair in the face.
"Who’s the one who harmed her and put her in this state? She could have been the most talented, dazzling star in all of Crestfall! Who was it that crushed her will to even live?"
"It was you! It was your unbridled ambition! You sacrificed her and trampled on her love for the sake of your business empire. What right do you have to question me? Who do you think you are to her?!"
The more Declan Grant spoke, the angrier he became, and he threw another punch at Aiden Sinclair.
Aiden Sinclair stood his ground, not even trying to dodge. Soon, his face was bruised.
"I know my mistakes. I’m trying to atone for them. But that’s no reason to give her an abortion pill. Without the baby, she’ll truly lose the will to live."
At the thought of Nina Walsh, Declan Grant suppressed his anger for the moment. "A short while ago, Nina and Wendy Sherman got a DNA test. It proved they aren’t related, and Nina isn’t Brian Sherman’s daughter. Wendy also got her hands on a photo—a picture of Nina’s mother and your father together. Nina thinks you’re siblings! She’s in agony. It doesn’t matter if you’re good to her or not; your very presence is torture for her."
"If you can’t solve this problem, then let her go. Let her leave Crestfall with me."
Aiden Sinclair froze, initially stunned, then found the whole thing utterly absurd.
He had never heard of his father, Jonathan Sinclair, having any sort of relationship with Rose Walsh. How could something so ridiculous happen to him?
"I will prove it’s not true."
...
Aiden Sinclair returned to the hospital. The lab results for the capsule were back.
"It’s just a standard vitamin capsule, nothing to worry about. The patient most likely fainted due to stomach cramps caused by eating something unclean. Make sure to pay close attention to food hygiene in the future."
Aiden Sinclair breathed a sigh of relief. He had wrongly accused Declan Grant.
Aiden Sinclair didn’t want to admit it, but Declan Grant not only cared about Nina Walsh as much as he did, he had also never hurt her.
"Mr. Sinclair, we’ve brought her." Jay Keane had detained Wendy Sherman and brought her to the hospital.
"Take her inside." Aiden Sinclair shot her a cold glance, and a shiver ran down Wendy Sherman’s spine.
Nina Walsh lay on the bed, her mind a complete blank. She didn’t want to think about the baby; she wanted to shut off her own senses, to stop feeling the pulse of life inside her.
Suddenly, the door to the room was thrown open, and Wendy Sherman was shoved inside.
Aiden Sinclair tossed the photo of Nina’s mother and his father, Jonathan Sinclair, onto the bed. "Wendy Sherman, what is the meaning of this picture?"
Wendy Sherman had been forcibly dragged here and was scared out of her wits. Seeing Aiden Sinclair’s thunderous rage, she didn’t dare hide anything any longer.
"Mr. Sinclair, I was wrong. I’m so sorry. The photo is a fake. I had someone Photoshop it."
