Chapter 658: Chapter 658. Acceptance

3 weeks had passed since Legoland RiverBlood was crowned Emperor of the RiverBlood Empire.

The surviving imperial clans now made up the Imperial Faction. Everything had stabilised swiftly after he assumed the throne. None dared to question his authority. The person backing him was the person responsible for eliminating the first and second clans, but he was also responsible for The Great Erasure. An event that sent chills down the spines of countless beings across the universe, whispered in fear and reverence.

Kailen Darkhaven, The Mad Tactician.

Also, the traditional rule that Royalty was not allowed to marry into other races—apart from witches, vampires and werewolves—had been changed. Emperor Legoland did this because he didn’t want what happened to his parents to ever repeat itself again.

Today was the banquet ceremony of Emperor Legoland RiverBlood.

At the moment, countless prestigious individuals from across the empire and beyond were flocking one of the flamboyant and magnificent banquet halls of the Royal Palace. Each of them radiated an air of regal authority. But none of them dared to flaunt their power here.

Seated at the head of the banquet was Emperor Legoland, and flanking him were the heads of the imperial faction. The emperor did not yet have an empress, else she would have been seated right by his side. As various influential people entered the banquet hall, they found that one person was missing.

Former Arbiter Darkhaven.

Many had attended this banquet because they wanted to see the legendary figure for themselves. Not to scrutinize, or gauge his power—that would be a foolish thing to do, after everything he has done. They simply wanted to see him for themselves; if possible, even strike up a conversation with him. That in itself would be enough for them.

"Emperor Serius Mory of the Cambi Empire has arrived!"

"Regeant Servu Axhe of the Asura Corrugation Empire has arrived!"

"Heiress Hellia Oerua of the Three Axe Mountain has arrived!"

"Anastasia Warger, Patriarch of the Warger Conglomerate has arrived!"

"Chief Elder Sebastian Wargrave of the Secondary Carrier Headquarters has arrived!"

"Principle Theodora RiverBlood of the RiverBlood Empire Academy has arrived!"

Each name mentioned carried power and weight. Yet, each one of these people were respectfully coming here to grace the gathering with their presence.

Legoland sighed inwardly. He would have never expected this kind of thing to happen, not in a million years. To think making a single decision to ally with Kailen instead of being a block headed fool like others who had made an enemy out of him, had brought him such fortune.

So what if he owed everything to Kailen? Was he supposed to be ashamed to admit that? Was he supposed to be ashamed to accept that? Certainly not! In his opinion, having the backing of someone powerful was nothing to be ashamed about. It was something to be proud and grateful for. Especially when that person could now be considered not just an ally, but as an irreplaceable friend.

Legoland didn’t know when he had started seeing Kailen as a friend. Perhaps, it was during the short time they had experienced daunting situations together—from the secret realm, to now. What started as a pure alliance between two strangers who sought benefits from the alliance had led to genuine admiration and friendship for Kailen.

He didn’t know if Kailen considered him a friend yet. But from their interactions, Legoland could figure that Kailen was more receptive to him, compared to when they met at first. He cracked jokes now. He laughed. Though, he never shared matters of personal relevance with Legoland. And that, in Legoland’s opinion, was enough. Whatever Kailen thought didn’t matter. To him, Kailen was a friend. He had everything he had now because of Kailen.

At the moment, as several in the banquet hall were paying respects to emperor Legoland Riverblood, socialising with one another, and dancing to the tune of classical music, an announcement rang.

"The former Void Arbiter, Black Flask Kailen Darkhaven, The Mad Tactician have arrived!"

Everyone’s eyes turned. Legoland smiled and thought.

Right. Kailen said he wanted to meet his fiance and his other loved ones. His friends who enrolled in the Dao Enlightenment Academy were known to have broken through to the supreme stage dao level on their last academy missions. This guy would not stop bragging about them. Especially about his fiance for instance, who not only broke through to the supreme stage dao level, but broke through to the third level of the supreme stage dao level on a mission where she killed the head of a notorious pirate syndicate.

After claiming their mission rewards three weeks ago, they were all just graduated a day prior as supreme stage dao level powerhouses from the Dao Enlightenment Academy.

An occurrence known to have shaken the mid tier Civilisations.

All gazes snapped to the door.

He emerged. Draped in an elegant dark suit. Abyssal Black hair and eyes. Pale white skin. Athletic yet slim physique. He had a calm, profound and mystifying air about him. Each step he took harmonized quietly with the void. It was as if the surrounding void was one with him. It was not intentional; it was simply the inevitability of someone with such profound mastery, and oneness with the law of space.

Flanking him, and locking fingers with him was a beautiful young lady with white hair, ocean blue eyes with a cheerful smile on her face. She was dressed in a beautiful white gown that contrasted yet strangely blended perfectly with his abyssal elegant suit and demeanor. She was a rank 3 supreme stage Dao level Lifeform and could be considered an ant to be crushed in terms of power level considering the hegemons gathered here.

But, everyone knew her. Everyone knew Kailen Darkhaven’s story. They didn’t even need to do any research about him. His story was known by them all. After his recent feats, the media was clouded with his background, where he grew up, how his cultivation started, who he started with, and so on.

This woman they were seeing, was the first person to see the best in him. The one who had given him balance to his perspectives. She had stood by him, through thick and thin. She may not be as strong as these powerhouses in the hall, but she held an unimaginable place in the heart of Kailen Darkhaven. That alone, was strength, none of them could have, an irreplaceable feat none of them, regardless of power or achievements could replicate.

Arrie Hall. She walked elegantly. Her eyes did not waver. She was not intimidated, nervous or afraid of any powerhouse’s presence, backing or power. She did not feel intimidated walking by Darkhaven’s side. She has long embraced his power, personality and status. She was simply, his, and he was her’s. She was secure. She knew her place in her life.

Charles chuckled from the side. "Kailen and Arrie are stealing the spotlight." He turned to Phoebie, who he had not seen in a long time after he enrolled in the academy.

Phoebie chucked. "Do you think you are the protagonist tonight babe?"

"Hehe. Fair point." Phila said.

"Let my grandson have his spotlight, kid." Auctevius chuckled.

"Kailen doesn’t want it. He simply commands it." Old Ha said.

"Auntie Arrie has stolen uncle from me." Little Felicia snorted.

"So I’m not handsome enough for you?" Joseph, Anaya’s younger brother, snorted.

Everyone in the group chuckled.

As the group chatted among one another, all eyes were on them. No one in the gathering underestimated them. Kailen Darkhaven seemed unapproachable, far from those at the banquet. Yet, strangely, these people who were weaker than them in cultivation, belonged in the former Arbiter’s world, laughing and giggling as if the man they were with was not a walking catastrophe bathed in stillness.

Each one of them had been part of the journey of the man the whole universe was talking about now. The one before them. The one several of them were dying to meet.

Kailen Darkhaven. And that made them abnormal too. Awakeners or not.
