Chapter 654: ( Edited)Chapter 654. Reveal

A very handsome vampire with a dignified aura was currently playing a pool game in a room. He suddenly squinted his eyes. He turned towards the door, where a figure stood, watching him.

"How long have you been here, father?" Mulvock, the current emperor of the RiverBlood Empire, said warmly as he turned to embrace his father, Malverion.

"A while. You don’t like to be disturbed during your pool games, after all." Malverion embraced his son.

"Not when the imperial father graces me with his presence."

"Ah... the emperor has a silver tongue."

"Learned from the best," Malverion replied as the two sat down on a couch, and an attendant brought them some leisurely snacks.

"Anyway, what brings you here, father?"

"We have an issue, son." Before the emperor could ask what was wrong, a runic recording device appeared before them. "A passing senior, someone I presume is an ancestor of the first clan, chanced on this."

Mulvock observed in graceful, inquisitive silence. He didn’t ask any more questions; he knew the runic recording device would satiate his mind. Mulvock and Malverion watched the video. A glint of coldness flashed across Mulvock’s eyes.

"They’ve been trying to get rid of us for a very long time. But we didn’t have enough basis to act against them. This is perfect."

Malverion nodded. "Exactly my thoughts, Your Highness. Whoever the senior is, he has really done us a great favor."

"You didn’t meet him?" Mulvock asked.

"No," Malverion said. "I could not even detect his presence. He must be very powerful. Most likely one of those old monsters who have no interest in the current happenings of the empire and only care about cultivation. I’m sure he decided to help us on a whim."

Mulvock nodded. He found the reasoning very plausible. He said, "Then we cannot frown on the senior’s act of kindness, apart from the fact that the second clan have been troublesome lately."

"Indeed. With your permission, I can lead the imperial corps directly to the second clan and bring them before the imperial court," Malverion said. "With this visible proof of their treason the mysterious senior helped us to obtain, we shall execute them on the spot, according to royal law."

Mulvock replied, "Thank you for the support as always, father. Please, proceed as such."

"It’s my duty, Your Majesty." A glint flashed through Malverion’s eyes. After that, he left.

Kailen shook his head at this moment in his room.

"This Malverion fellow is really cunning. He directed the conversation towards what he wanted. A simple person may not notice it, but he manipulated his son subtly to get the outcome he wanted. It’s a good thing I chose the ideal approach."

He lay down on his bed and yawned. "I should execute the final part of the plan soon."

Kailen stared at the rank 8 poisons floating before him.

The imperial capital was in shock. Treason. The second clan had committed treason against the ruling clan and the emperor.

Of course, it was no news that each of the clans wanted an opportunity to rule. They held meetings where the emperor and the first clan were roasted and ridiculed over and over again. But these meetings were held in places where no one would be able to listen to their interactions. No one dared to speak against the ruling clan openly; it was an iron-clad rule.

Each clan was allowed to use political methods, but they all wore masks of allegiance to the first clan. As long as one was not caught with visible proof of treason, the first clan could do nothing to you. The reason why the other clans had been confident to openly visit Anvilheart, knowing the first clan wanted him, was because that was not treason. Each clan was allowed to compete for resources and people they deemed important.

But under no circumstance was one to be caught with proof of speaking against the first clan. It was the clan of the emperor. Doing so required death. Apparently, the second clan had been caught with proof this time.

The imperial corps, led by Malverion RiverBlood, had marched to their star system. Everyone had been captured—from adult to child, clan head to servant. None was left. Because of the visible proof of their treason, they could only comply. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

How the first clan had managed to obtain this proof of treason was unknown. Some assumed it was a spy from among them betraying them, but many boycotted the idea. Each one of them was captured—why would one of their own spy on them and report them when it would also lead to their downfall?

That was when whispers spread that some mysterious ancestor of the first clan had caught wind of the second clan’s plot and had decided to assist the first clan on a whim. Everyone understood now; the second clan had really been unfortunate this time. Those old monsters of the imperial clans rarely made a move. They did not care about the affairs of the empire anymore; they only cared about their cultivation. They only intervened in matters on a whim every once in a while. And the second clan had been the victim of such an occurrence.

Currently, the imperial faction were gathered in the imperial court. The place was packed to the brim with the members of the imperial court. The members of the second clan had been lined up, shackled with rune-inscribed chains that halted their flow of universe energy.

The emperor, his wife and children, brother and family were currently seated above a platform. The head of the imperial faction, Malverion RiverBlood, and his wife were among them. He turned towards a man dressed like some sort of chief justice. This person was the judge of the imperial court.

The judge of the imperial court looked at the members of the second clan with a cold look. "Do you have anything to say before you are executed?"

The head of the second clan gnashed his teeth. What could he say? They had been cornered completely. There was no way out of this. Several members of the second clan were already in tears. How had this happened to them overnight? Some of them were just youngsters who knew nothing of imperial politics and dangers. They had vibrant dreams of becoming famed awakeners in the empire, and if possible, beyond. But here they were, about to be killed. It was a very traumatic and mind-blowing moment.

"Very well—"

Before the judge of the imperial court finished speaking, someone stood up. Malverion looked at his wife. What the hell was she standing up for? She floated towards the second clan members.

For the past few days, she had seen a mysterious man. The man had tortured her. She would find herself in a place; he would torture her so much that it felt physical, although she would realize it was not physical. It happened when she was always alone. When Malverion was not around, he would appear and torture her. The man told her not to tell anyone anything, or the pain would worsen. She didn’t know who he was or what he wanted... but he was wicked and horrifying. Was she some enemy of her husband? Some mysterious senior who wanted to torture her for fun?

She felt it. Every bit of it. The pain of the torture. It was not physical, but the scars on her mind were too real to ignore. She did not know why, but the man said the only way for it to end was for her to say she colluded with the second clan to get rid of the first clan during the trial. If not, not only would the torture continue, she would lose her husband and her son, the emperor.

Driven into madness from the torture, she decided to do anything to keep her family safe.

Kailen observed everything from his room.

"The hallucinogenic poison hound three slipped into her tea really did wonders. Her psychology is breaking apart, just according to the pattern I designed for the hallucinations when I made the poison. Quite fascinating," Kailen said.

Everything was going according to plan.

"Your Honor," Vitrash RiverBlood—wife of Malverion and mother of Mulvock, mother of the emperor and wife of the imperial faction head—said.

Everyone was quiet. What was she going to say? Was she going to defend the second imperial clan people? What was happening? Malverion wondered. His wife looked at him and their son with an empathic gaze. In her opinion, this was the only way for her to end this madness, this torture she had been experiencing. This was the only way to also prevent this mysterious and terrifying man from harming her husband and her son.

Consumed by fear, she added, "I supported the second clan. I have been colluding with them against the first clan."

The whole place was silent after she spoke. Malverion stared at his wife in shock. The emperor and family, brother and family stared at her. What was she saying? What had come over her?

Suddenly, she saw him again. The man...

"Now move towards your husband."

Everyone saw her move towards her husband. She had a terrified look on her face. She was driven by fear and lack of reason. The man she was seeing before her was like a god and she was an ant. He had done unspeakable things to her. To her, there was nothing he could not do to her and her family if she disobeyed.

Even the judge of the imperial court was too dumbstruck to say a word. Everyone watched her as she appeared near her husband.

"Hug him," the menacing man commanded.

She hugged him. Malverion was too shocked to process what was happening. Had someone manipulated his wife? Was what she said really true? Was she playing some prank?

As he was in thought,

"Self-detonate." The menacing man’s voice rung in the mind of his wife again. She didn’t even think twice.

Everyone’s eyes widened.

Then it clicked... Oh no...

Before they could intervene, an explosion rippled outwards. Malverion could not even react in time. The explosion rippled across the place. The emperor, the empress, their kids, the emperor’s brother, his family, Malverion and his wife. They were all reduced into smithereens. They didn’t even have time to register the fact that they were dying.

Nothing was left. No ashes. Nothing. The emperor’s mother had killed them all by self-detonation, including herself.

"Hound 2, release the transparent poisons from the flasks," Kailen commanded through thought transmission as he nodded. The results were within expectations.

Just when everyone was trying to process what was happening, several members of the first imperial clan and all the members of the second imperial clan started to fall down. They started screaming in pain. The sight was terrifying. Their forms started to shrivel. In a few moments, they were all dead. They had terrified and painful expressions on their dead shrivelled faces. It was a chilling sight.

All the members of the first imperial clan and the second imperial clan—from adult to child—no one was left alive. They numbered about a million. They were all dead. They had died just like that. Even the imperial court judge had died.

At this moment, two figure materialized in the imperial court. Karag Anvilheart. Thuldor Prime.

Kailen and Legoland had appeared here by means of a teleportation rune. Legoland didn’t know how Kailen had pulled all this off. He was very chilled. He was afraid of Kailen now, honestly. He had watched everything through an empire streaming forum. While many were still processing what had happened, only he knew everything happening was within Kailen’s plan, though he didn’t know the specifics.

Wait... Why was Thuldor Prime’s face changing? What was going on?

Everyone stared at Legoland... His face changed after he took some potion... though he was barely a baby at the time , and was an adult now, the look in his eyes, the striking resemblence to the emperor before the one who just died..Some in the gathering—the older ones of the third, fourth, and fifth clans, the only clans remaining now since the first two had been just wiped out—recognized him...

As for Kailen, he had decided to not make an appearance so that no one connects the Black Flask Alchemist occurrence to him. However, Legoland convinced him. If Legoland appeared here alone, he’d be vulnerable. The other three clans were opportunistic. They could kill him and still take the throne. Everything Kailen had done would have been for nought.

On further thought , Kailen reasoned that now that he had killed the strongest person in the imperial faction at the moment, why did he need to hide his identity as Kailen Darkhaven here any longer?

At least in the RiverBlood Empire, he would be safe for the time being. He would also be joining the RiverBlood Empire academy. On second thought, he may have to use his abilities there to survive; runesmithery alone wouldn’t suffice. His identity was bound to be revealed anyway. Although he preferred staying under the radar to avoid the prying eyes of the factions in the universe that wanted him dead, he didn’t have a choice now. There was no use in hiding. Plus, he was strong enough to handle some of them. Since that was the case, he would reveal his actual identity and use all his abilities.

As many were in shock at Legoland’s appearance, Kailen took a potion and drank it. His face changed. His appearance changed completely.

Pitch-black hair as inky as the void. Eyes as dark as the void. Tall, athletic, slim physique. Signature long coat and sneakers.

Many bellowed at the same time:

"Kailen Darkhaven?"

"The Mad Tactician?"

How? How the hell was he with the first prince, who was presumed dead many years ago after being banished from the empire with his mother when he was a baby?
