He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact-Chapter 622. Auction 1
Kanthu Empire.
Varum Galaxy.
Karag Star System.
The Karag Star system was currently bustling with activity, as always. Several planetary districts were in full swing with trades, auctions, secondary Carrier activities, negotiations between chambers of commerce, among others.
At the moment, two individuals were walking in the streets of one of the planetary districts. The suns above cast their warmth on all below, the azure skies blanketing everywhere.
The planetary district was bustling with chatter, activity, flying hover vehicles whizzing past, towering skyscrapers spiraling upwards, and holographic billboards with ads, among others. The two individuals were headed towards a chamber of commerce in the vicinity for an auction where a spaceship they needed to travel safely in the Starry Sea was to be auctioned.
The place was not far. Therefore, they didn’t see the need to use a hover vehicle.
One of the two individuals, clad in a t-shirt, sneakers, and jeans, had chestnut hair and hazel eyes. The other, clad in a turtleneck, jeans, and sneakers, had white hair and deep black eyes.
These two individuals were Kailen and Legoland, who had arrived on this planetary district a few moments ago.
"Dwarves are the common race in this empire, however other races are also present, from what we can observe," Legoland sent Kailen a thought transmission as an ad flashed by. "Hey, look, that’s you."
On the ad, several scenes of Kailen in the secret realm flashed past—the dragon manipulation scene to kill the AshenBorne and Crimson Veil disciples, the killing of Anna and company with a single space law attack, the manipulation and death of the 30 AshenBorne Sect disciples. The scene shifted to his confrontation with Ruth and Xernovia, his back turned, him walking away, his statement about them touching his family, their scared expressions, and their deaths. The scene shifted again to reveal the state of Xi Qi and Karabi during the beginning of their confrontation before a full-blown assault occurred. A pair of eyes, full of casual ruthlessness, seemed to be watching them confront each other from above. They appeared on some chess boards, with Kailen watching them destroy each other.
Kailen chuckled lightly and shook his head.
Whoever had the time in the world to compile all these videos?
Could be Charles, using his MrAllKnowing account. Could be anyone too, though.
"Look, it’s former Arbiter Darkhaven’s compilation."
"Heh, I have a better one in my inbox."
"Really, I need to see it!"
Some individuals were reacting to the video that had just played.
"But I can’t believe he did all that."
"He’s really on another level. A terrifying Black Flask alchemist and runesmith, a terrifying space law combatant, has some very rapid cultivation speed, and is definitely the most dangerous tactician the universe has ever seen in a while."
"The events of the Fourfold Silence, in particular, can never be forgotten. My daughter even said they learnt about it recently in school during one of their war strategy classes."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah. The Former Arbiter is now some sort of myth, a symbol even."
"But I heard some factions want him dead because he is a threat if he’s not on their side."
"Yeah, others too have left him be. When you look at things from both sides, they all make sense. Some factions are afraid of his unpredictable nature and their inability to read him. To them, he could even be manipulating them to attack him so that he will trap them. After all he’s done, you can’t blame them. Others also think he’s too dangerous to be left alive since he rejected their offers. If he’s not an ally, to them, he’s an enemy, a threat that should be eliminated."
"Do you think he will survive?"
"I don’t know. But if there’s one thing everyone knows about him, it’s that he understands the law of the jungle very well. People like him hardly die."
Several discussed in the streets as Kailen and Legoland passed by with their new identities.
It was so ironic. People didn’t know the person they were discussing fervently was walking among them.
Kailen naturally didn’t care about the conversations. He, alongside Legoland, exchanged thoughts.
"I have been meaning to ask, since you have the money, why didn’t you buy a spaceship of this kind earlier before we left the Arman Empire?" Legoland asked. He didn’t have the money the former arbiter had. But since Kailen had the resources, it was baffling he didn’t get a spaceship that could hide their presence from intermediate stage universe level powerhouses before they set off. Knowing this fellow, he was not careless.
Kailen replied, "I tried, honestly. But they were all sold out. Must have been because of the increase in bounty hunter activities recently."
Legoland’s eyes flashed with realization. He remembered what they recently experienced in the Starry Sea.
"People are scared for their safety. No one wants to die. We may not be the only ones who want this spaceship," Legoland said.
Kailen rubbed his forehead in slight annoyance. He was filthy rich. But still, the thought of spending too much money irked him a bit. That greedy nature he had on earth when it came to money still lingered, although it had been mostly quelled. Well, he was just like everyone when it came to money. No matter how much one had, spending too much was always painful.
The duo rounded a few streets for a while.
Finally, they arrived at their location.
Towering skyscrapers littered across the perimeter, stretching for as far as the eye could see.
This architectural line-up went as far as into another planet in the star system.
This was how large the current chamber of commerce was.
The Drugfror Chamber of Commerce.
At the moment, several hover vehicles lined a transportation route in the sky. The hover vehicles proceeded past the checkpoint and were allowed entry.
Others, like Kailen and Legoland, had arrived here through walking.
They also proceeded to a checkpoint in the line.
"What can I do for you, sirs?" A dwarven man dressed like a butler asked.
Legoland replied politely, "We registered for the auction scheduled for today."
The man nodded. A projection appeared before him. He was going through some sort of list.
Soon, he came across two pictures that matched their appearances.
Nomads... nothing out of the ordinary. Not that he cared, even if it was out of the ordinary. The Chamber of Commerce was a business organisation, after all.
"Mr Karag Anvilheart?"
Kailen nodded. "That’s me."
The man nodded. He was just performing a normal routine.
"Mr Thuldor Prime?"
Legoland nodded. "That’s me."
"All confirmed, gentlemen. Please, enjoy the auction."
Kailen and Legoland nodded after the man sent a particular account number to them, which they could transfer the money of their purchases during the auction to.
The duo proceeded past the checkpoint towards the exterior of a towering skyscraper where others were also headed. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
This was the building where the auction would be taking place.
