Chapter 474: Chapter 474. Jack of all trades...master of all

The lieutenant flinched in fear, attempting to flee.

He turned into a streak of light, attempting to disappear.

However before Kailen took any action, a voice resounded in his mind.

" Allow, me, Black Flask"

The captain of the outpost.

The dwarf turned into a streak of light as a ruthlessness flashed through his eyes.

A hammer and a drum appeared in his hand.

He beat the drum with the hammer gently. After that, ripples spread everywhere. But strangely, it was as if the ripples had been directed towards the vimodial contractor who was trying to flee.

Suddenly, the fellow coughed a mouthful of blood as he felt his innards vibrating, pulverized by the sound of the drum beat that resounded within him.

" Shit ,is he not a rank 1 beginner stage galactic level like myself? How the hell is he so powerful"

After that, his innards turned into meat paste. His vision blanketed and he died.

" So he has the sound affinity huh" Kailen mused, gaze lingering on the captain of the outpost and his drum for a moment. This was not the use of zither weaponry arts to utilize spiritual power to attack the consciousness of someone.

It was the use of the sound affinity. The captain only used the drum to amplify the sound because the drum was inscribed with some runes that amplified the ability of those with the sound affinity.

Just as Kailen, who had reverted to his normal appearance, was about to leave, the captain appeared before him.

Quickly the captain bent his waist backward. He bowed with utmost sincerity.

Everyone at the base had their eyes widened for a moment. But they understood what the captain was doing. He was thanking Captain Darkhaven.

It was no longer about Captain Darkhaven’s mission. Whether Captain Darkhaven eliminated the enemy without the intention or not, he had saved their life and preserved the base.

They all followed in the steps of the captain, bending their knees before Kailen.

" Thank you Captain Darkhaven"

At the same time the captain and the base operatives’ voices rang out in respect and admiration.

Kailen didn’t take it to heart. He had merely ended the enemy because the fellow had come to kill him. It was not an act of heroism.

However, since they misunderstood the motive for his actions and were showing their sincerity, he didn’t see the need to downplay their appreciation. He remembered the time on earth where Arrie had advised him after the beast tide of Achilles city to at least say you’re welcome to others when they tried to thank him.

Kailen nodded. "You’re welcome"

The statement felt so cringe and out of place in his mouth but sigh, he simply went through with it.

Arrie would be satisfied wherever she was, right?

The captain and the operatives straightened their backs, after which they stared respectfully at the retreating back of Black Flask Darkhaven.

No doubt, this tyrannical feat of Black Flask Darkhaven performed today would travel to every nook and cranny of not only the Frontlines, but the empire as a whole.

And it did. The first place to get this information was HQ.

In one of the HQ bases, three colonels were staring at the holographic screen.

What they were looking at was extremely tyrannical.

Kailen Darkhaven had broken through to the rank 3 beginner stage galactic level with extreme speed.

Not only that, he had killed an army of vimodial contractors at the beginner stage galactic level, none below the sixth rank, without lifting a finger in a swift moment, and jumped levels to slaughter a rank 2 intermediate stage galactic level vimodial contractor. This operative was a dangerous combatant.

Turns out he didn’t have a tier one elemental mirroring where he could use only lightning elemental energy. But he had a tier 2 elemental mirroring—water, earth, and fire in addition to the lightning elemental energy he had at the tier one elemental mirroring.

In addition to his affinities, his mysterious shadow affinity, lightning and vines. Technically, it was safe to say that this fellow had seven different affinities.

He also had these two strange physiques that granted him tyrannical strength. There was one where he turned into some sort of crimson...devil.

There was another one where he was encased in some obsidian armor.

Apart from this, he was now a rank 1 runesmith. Was this not too fast?

As rank 7 intermediate stage galactic level lifeforms, although they were not runesmiths they had noticed the use of rank 1 teleportation runes during Captain Darkhaven’s battle with the enemy.

Coupled with the fact that he was also a rank 1 Black Flask. He was also extremely tactical, and cunning when the need arose, and this psychological profile had been extremely demonstrated in his previous missions and even in the one he had been sent to eliminate the vimodial contractor Black Flask. This fellow was a jack of all trades, and a master of...all.

The Colonels sighed. They had seen their fair share of geniuses and could be hardly fazed by the appearance of geniuses. However, this was completely different from a normal occurrence.

Kailen Darkhaven was not a genius. He was something extreme.

This was a word that people of their caliber were not supposed to use. But that was the only description they had for this operative.

Operative Darkhaven was a monster.

Colonel Boro Darkhaven sighed and laughed.

He mused inwardly to himself.

"Brother. If only you were alive, to see your grandson. I wonder how proud of him you’d be. I look forward to the day when he becomes a Colonel, and I can fight with him side by side"

The two other colonels, Floyd Harker and Angelo Rana, had to admit that this operative was unlike anyone they had ever seen.

"We need to send him to places where he can go all out. Operative Darkhaven needs to use his full capabilities," Floyd said.

On seeing the look on Boro’s face, he added, "Don’t give me that look. I may have been resentful of him for what he did to the Harker Clan, but do you think I’m that narrow minded to notice someone who could tip the scales at the Frontlines when I see one?"

Boro nodded in understanding.

Angelo added, "I agree. His abilities demand a grander battlefield, where he can contribute greatly to the frontlines."

Boro added, "Agreed."

He knew his colleagues had come to a place of acceptance this time. They did not speak from a place of holding grudges against the operative. Not anymore.

"So, where should he be sent then?" Boro asked.
