Chapter 50: Thank You

Kiera’s face paled even further at Adam’s confirmation.

Her mind reeled.

The Shinso family.

A family made up entirely of monsters that have reached their ultimate evolutions. Every single monster within it was an apex existence of their species.

Hence the reason they are seen a biologically perfect in every sense of the word.

As such, Kiera’s eyes went on Adam, confused, shocked, and surprised.

How the hell was a five-year-old child part of that family?!

She wondered to herself.

Kiera swallowed hard, her mouth suddenly dry, as she said, a little shocked.

"But... I don’t...

Her words jumbled as she continued.

"There weren’t any new births in the family right... We-w-we-WEW would be informed otherwise... unless mother and father kept it a secret."

She said, whispering softly even, like a shy child.

Her voice wavered even more when she said.

"Unless... unless you were born as a Shinso?"

She knew for a fact that the Shinso family was an all-female household. None of them had husbands. None of them had children... well almost none of them, but beyond the singular exception of that family, no other news was made public.

So for that reason, and that reason alone, just seeing Adam here greatly confused Kiera.

So who was this kid?

She wondered.

Adam, however, just sighed at her reaction, and he began moving on from the conversation as he reached over to Nyla. She was still unconscious, her breathing shallow, and her blood pooling greatly on the ground.

With gentleness, Adam placed his skeletal hand atop her head, ruffling her hair slightly before the same golden glow spread through his fingers.

At the same time, he began to start small talk with Keira as he proceeded to heal Nyla.

Saying...

"If you are curious about my station, then yes, I am a Shinso existence."

He admitted nonchalantly.

"As for what kind of monster I am... Wellllllll....

He gave a teasing smirk, finally finishing the sentence with.

"I’ll keep that a secret for now."

Kiera’s expression twisted in frustration as she blew her face up in childish anger. Truly, it was a cute sight to behold, as she said.

"Wha... You can’t just say that and then not tell me!"

Adam chuckled at her protest as he continued healing Nyla, the glow intensifying as her missing limbs started to grow back and her wounds, internal and external, slowly started to close and heal.

As a result of the treatment, her breathing started to grow steadier, her pained expression softening. Unlike Kiera, Nyla wasn’t awake to feel the process, which was probably for the best.

Kiera, on the other hand, was still trying to wrap her head around the absurdity of the situation. But then and again, she watched as the nameless child began to heal her sister’s wounds at a very fast rate.

’He...

She said, pausing for a moment and looking firsthand at this insane feat of healing before her taking place so casually.

Looking at this, she could not help but say to herself.

’He-He... really isn’t normal, is he?’

She inwardly said and whispered out aloud. frёewebηovel.cѳm

"I mean... it doesn’t make sense. How can you even be a Shinso? There were no reports of any newborns, this would be very big news if...

Alas, she was soon silenced when Adam looked her way, giving her a side glance, as he spoke and said.

"You think Minerva would tell people?"

Kiera immediately shut up at these words; after all, by the end of the they just serve the Shinso family.

So, they have no say in what Minerva does.

Usually, in the Monster world, achieving Shinso evolution was the equivalent of the birth of a Demon Lord in the Demon World.

Just as achieving Demon King Ascension was the equivalent of becoming a Monster Lord in the Monster World.

So it goes, without saying why becoming a Shinso existence was such a big thing, hell even being born as one would put you in a league singular from the shared norm.

However, achieving the status of a Monster Lord was far more revered than being born into it. Monster Lords who climbed from the bottom of their race to the pinnacle were respected beyond measure, for their strength was undeniable in that regard.

It was living proof of their survival as they developed their lore, experience, and mastery over their powers to establish their position as the absolute of their station. These types of Monster Lords are widely regarded as Antediluvians, a monster so old their power can affect the entire field.

In the Monster World, a Monster Lord... Antediluvian or not, they were the top dogs of the Monster World.

Just as the Human World and the Other supernatural worlds have their Top representors.

For those of the Demon world, it was the Demon Kings.

For those of the Human World, it was their Overlord.

For those of the Celestial World, it was their Monarchs.

For those of the Dream World, it was the Visionaries.

And for those of the Chaos World, it was their Horsemens.

But that aside, Kiera gave Adam another good look as she concluded that he must be some kind of hidden powerhouse under Minerva.

It would make sense since natural-born Shinso were often groomed for high-ranking positions within monster society.

All in all, it was clear to Kiera that Adam’s situation was...

’...Intentional.’

She said to herself, but it was not her place; she was just so glad that he was helping.

If not for him, they would be dead.

But still.

The thought made her shiver.

Adam, meanwhile, focused entirely on Nyla, the glow from his hand fading as the last of her wounds sealed shut. The once-severed arm and both her legs were now whole again.

"There... All finish."

He leaned back slightly, rolling his shoulders. Using the life force he had stolen was convenient, but it wasn’t infinite. Still, it was more than enough to fully restore the two of them.

Kiera stared at her sister, watching in quiet disbelief as Nyla’s breathing evened out, her expression peaceful for the first time since this nightmare had started.

Relief washed over her, so strong that she felt her eyes sting.

"...Thank you...

SNIFFFF!!

She said, tears leaving her eyes.

After all, for the first time in a while, something joyous happened; meeting Adam was basically akin to a miracle. If it wasn’t for him, they would have both been dead.

"THANKK YOUUU SO MUCHHH!!"

Adam smiled at this, as he returned his hand to normal while saying.

"No problem. Like I said, you didn’t have to ask; I was going to heal you both either way. Why else would I save you to begin with, and technically you all are my subjects; it would have looked back on my family name if I just left you both there to die... so you don’t need to thank me for anything, I am merley doing my part here as someone in a higher leadership position."
