Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 107: Love & Friends
Audrey looked from Stacy to Maya, a wide smile on her face.
This was going to be interesting: two e; they were fated mates; Audrey was starting to believe that the moon goddess had fun pairing enemies together.
"Good thing she told you, Audrey," Maya walked up to Audrey.
She looked so different that evening; the daring makeup on her face made her look bold and confident compared to her mild and gentle nature.
"You’re stunning as always, Audrey," Maya said and hugged Audrey.
"Thanks, Maya," Audrey replied, stepping away from her as she felt Stacy’s discomfort.
She sighed and looked at Maya’s face.
"Do you really want to reject her? Take a good look at her and give me your final answer," Audrey gently nudged Maya.
She watched as Maya’s eyes slowly met Stacy’s; the tension between them was very heavy and palpable; she could feel their desire for each other seeping from their skin.
So why was Maya trying to do something that would hurt her too?
"She hurt me first," Maya said and removed her face from Stacy.
Audrey secretly smirked. Maya didn’t give her a final answer, that was a green light. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"She did?" Audrey asked, pretending to frown at Stacy.
"It was just-"
"Let her speak, Stacy," Audrey snapped her head to Stacy, giving her a sign with her eyes.
Stacy immediately understood that Audrey was trying to help her out and simply nodded her head.
"Yes. You were there too," Maya said.
Audrey looked alarmed, her brows furrowing, "I was?" She asked and swiftly grabbed a glass of wine from the tray of a passing waitress.
"Yes, in front of the forest. She told me to grow up and learn how to accept rejection. But here she is, clearly not grown up, and unable to accept rejection," Maya huffed, folding her arms on her chest.
Audrey sighed, "Oh, that?"
She smiled and stared at the hopeless-looking Stacy. She did remember her saying that, and other harsh words too.
"Tsk, how am I going to help you now, Stacy? You did say those mean things to her," Audrey sighed loudly and put her hand around Maya’s shoulder, sipping her drink.
Stacy stared unbelievably at Audrey, was she switching sides now? She looked over at Maya and saw the smug smile on her face, worry immediately enveloped her.
She knew she was wrong for saying those things to her, but from the way her heart was pounding, she didn’t think she could still live if Maya ended up rejecting her. She loved her and would do anything to keep her.
"I’m sorry. I’m really sorry, Maya," Stacy said and slowly walked over to Audrey and Maya, stopping in front of Maya and gently holding her arm.
"I’m sorry, babe," Stacy said in a soft voice.
Audrey saw Maya’s face instantly softening and knew that Stacy wasn’t alone in her feelings.
"I-"
"No need to waste your time on her, Maya. I’ve got the perfect plan for everyone," Audrey interrupted her, dragging her away from Stacy.
She knew Maya was about to forgive Stacy but she needed to make sure they were really into each other and not hung up on past feelings.
"Huh, what plan?" Maya asked, looking longingly at Stacy.
"I’m about to reject him," Audrey pointed at Alpha Lake engaged in a serious conversation with two older men.
"Why?" Stacy asked, surprised.
She believed they were the best match the moon goddess had ever made; why would Audrey want to walk away from such a thing?
"Well, I figured I like Maya better. In the end, I’ll be your mate as you wanted," She smiled at Maya, "And you’ll finally have Alpha Lake all to yourself," she said to Stacy.
"No!"
"No!"
Stacy and Maya said at the same time.
Audrey smirked, looking from one person to the other. Maya’s face blushed with embarrassment as the realization of what Audrey had just done dawned on her.
"There, it’s settled now," Audrey tapped their shoulders, chuckling.
Stacy smiled, "I’ve realized she’s the only one for me." She gently touched Maya’s cheek.
"What’s going on here?" Alex’s voice sounded from behind the blushing couple.
"What happened between you, you, and you," Audrey replied sarcastically, pointing at all three of her friends with their mates beside them.
"Aww, congratulations, Maya, Stacy. You finally get to leave my friend and her mate alone," Sandra said with a smirk.
"Babe!" Lawrence gently tugged Sandra’s wrist, shaking his head at her.
"Okay, okay, fine. Congratulations, my dear friends, on behalf of all of us, I’m wishing you a happy and lusty union," She grabbed a glass of wine from the table and raised it before her, "Cheers to our friendship!" Sandra cheered loudly.
Audrey already had a drink in her hand, so she stood back as the friends all grabbed their glasses; together, they clicked them, softly laughing at Sandra’s choice of words in giving her blessings to Stacy and Maya.
"He looks so hot; you’re one lucky wolf, Sis," Maria whispered to Audrey as they stared up at the stage at Alpha Lake, who was giving a speech.
"I know," Audrey smiled.
"If he’s hot, then what am I?" Caleb asked grumpily beside Maria.
"Oh, come now, baby, don’t sulk; in my eyes, you’re the hottest of them all," She placed a sweet kiss on his cheek to assuage his jealousy.
Audrey just chuckled as she watched their interaction.
She pitied Caleb, he was stressed about his mother-in-law not liking him. Poor guy believes his mate might leave him anytime soon.
Audrey had thought of how to help her cousin and her mate and had texted her aunt earlier about them, but she was told that it was forbidden for witches to mate with werewolves. And as it stands now, Maria was a defaulter in the Coven and a severe punishment was waiting for her when she returned.
A witch can have sex, even have children for a wolf, but never to be marked by or Mark a werewolf.
Thinking back to that information, she suddenly remembered that the rule was made because of her. Well, her past self.
Because the witches believed their creator had died in the hands of her Alpha King mate, they then decided to never mate with wolves, terming them dangerous and untrustworthy.
But that had to change; she knew the whole story now and would make them understand it, too, before she proceeded to remove the stupid rule.
"I also want to use this opportunity to introduce my beautiful mate, Audrey, to everyone here tonight," Alpha Lake’s deep voice reverberated through the room.
"Awww!"
Audrey heard her friends gushing cute sounds beside her, but she ignored them; her eyes were already locked with Alpha Lake’s intense ones, her heart speeding from the warm tingles she felt from his mere look.
She felt her heart soar as she realized that he was acknowledging her in the presence of everyone.
Alpha Lake pointed over to Audrey at the corner; she was easily spotted by the crowd as she stood out amongst everyone with her beauty, dress, and charming aura.
"I love you, Sweetheart," Alpha Lake said to Audrey in a deep voice.
The whole crowd roared with screams and applause; they were crazy over the chemistry they felt between their Alpha and mate; they were happy and surprised at the same time. They couldn’t believe their Alpha was capable of such intense pda.
"We love you too!" Maria screamed behind Audrey, overly excited as if she was the one that was being confessed to.
The crowd roared with laughter at Maria’s fangirl reply.
Audrey was smiling, love shining through her eyes as she stared at her handsome mate. She felt so proud of him at that moment, and she felt proud of them, too; they’d come so far together after all the obstacles they had to stumble through.
"Soon, we’ll be having a mating ceremony, where you’ll meet her officially as your Luna; from now on, treat her as one because she is," Alpha Lake said proudly.
Everyone applauded as Alpha Lake walked down the stage.
"Oh, here he comes," Sandra whispered and held Maria’s hand; both of them jumped excitedly on their feet like kids.
Audrey’s pulse increased as she saw Alpha Lake approaching her; he looked so beautiful under the bright light as he strode with confidence and aura toward her.
"Hi, darling," Alpha Lake took her hand and kissed the back of it.
"Hey," Audrey said softly.
"Hum, all of a sudden, her voice goes so low and soft," Alex mumbled.
"Behave, Cub," Andrew secretly spanked his ass.
Sandra saw what happened and went ahead to whisper it to Maria, both chuckling at Alex.
"You’re quite confident," Audrey said, raising her eyes at Alpha Lake.
"I am?" He asked, wrapping his arm around her slim waist, drawing her into him.
"Mating ceremony? You’re so sure I’ll let you mark me," Audrey scoffed.
Alpha Lake chuckled seductively and drew his face close to her ear, "You can’t resist me, Kitten. I can’t resist you, too. You got me wrapped around your little finger, I’m addicted to you, Audrey," He lowered his face to her neck and kissed her tattooed neck, right where his mark was supposed to go.
Audrey sighed softly, clenching her fist in his chest for control over her raging hormones.
"Ah! I found a knife!" Sandra suddenly announced, drawing everyone’s attention to herself. Lawrence was beside her by the side of the table as he watched his mate hold up a small table knife, a helpless look on his face.
"Uh, what’s the knife for?" Alex asked.
Audrey already had an idea of what her crazy friend was going on about.
"Oh, well, I just wanted to cut down some sexual tension around, where was it again, um... yes! Them!" Sandra pointed accusingly at Alpha Lake and Audrey.
Lawrence facepalmed.
Maria shared a look with her mate and Alex, then slowly looked toward Alpha Lake, but was surprised to find him smiling.
"Then, come forward, Sandra," Alpha Lake gently beckoned her over.
Sandra was about to step forward but was dragged back by Lawrence.
"Forgive her, Alpha, she’s had too much to drink," Lawrence bowed his head to Alpha Lake.
Audrey was smiling widely, her cheek was starting to hurt from how often she’s been smiling since that evening.
"Greetings, Alpha King," A man’s voice interrupted their fun atmosphere.
Everyone turned to see a man in a grey suit and scattering grey hair on his gelled hair.
"Uncle?" Lawrence called in surprise as he stared at the man.
"Uncle? As in Alpha Malachi?" Sandra asked, her eyes widened.
