Harem app-Chapter 243: Super power
First person POV - Liam
"I believe they all died," Lee Hua explained with sorrow.
She had sent five elite agents to the place where Clara was most likely being held. It was an abandoned warehouse in an isolated part of the city.
Lee Hua said she wanted to solve everything without putting me in danger. But after she ordered the agents to enter the building, she received no further news from them.
All communications had been cut off, and it was very likely they had been killed.
Each of them carried cameras and microphones in their gear, so it should have been possible to see what happened even if something went wrong. But the footage showed nothing useful before being abruptly cut off.
There hadn’t been any gunshots either, which made it difficult to imagine or understand how those five elite agents had been killed.
But Liam had a good idea of the cause: their enemy probably possessed some kind of supernatural power.
Could it have been a demon? If Lila were around, she could have contacted the angels. If it truly was a demon, they would definitely have helped us.
But she was in heaven at that moment, and we had completely lost communication with her.
Besides, the enemy didn’t have to be a demon; it could be an angel, or any other kind of supernatural being...
But how could we face that? It wasn’t like I had any real powers...
My eyes widened as I realized something obvious. I should have thought of this earlier. When I reached level 11, I gained another skill slot.
But the most important thing was: now that I had Lee Hua, I practically had infinite money. I should have thought of using this from the very beginning.
"Lee Hua, transfer as much money as you can to my account."
"I can do that, but why do you need so much money?" she asked, already grabbing her phone to start the transfer.
"I’ll explain later."
"Uh... one thing, though: I think the transfer will get blocked if you try to send that much money," Helena interrupted.
"I don’t have a credit limit," Lee Hua replied. "I think I can send a few million dollars without the bank bothering me."
"Yes, but they’ll think it’s strange for him to suddenly receive all that money," Helena pointed at me. "I think I know what you want. It’s easier to just register her card on the app."
Helena was right, so I did exactly as she suggested. Lee Hua gave me her banking details, and now I have access to practically unlimited funds.
First, I bought a bunch of G-Coins. Then, I paid to discard my current skill.
That way, I could choose two new powers. So I spent everything I could on buying even more G-Coins. Even Lee Hua was surprised at the insane amount of money being spent, but she didn’t complain.
Then I opened the shop:

First, trying my luck, I decided to spend 50 G-Coins to buy a Mix-Race Ability, hoping it might be useful.
I obtained the ability: <Haven’s Punisher Flames>. The name was quite confusing, but in short, the power allowed me to create flames around my body.
I couldn’t control fire unless I was the one generating it, but it was still a power that could prove useful in some way.
I also couldn’t launch the flames outward, only surround my body with them, which made it suitable mainly for close combat.
But the really important thing was what I would do next. I had many options of what to buy, but in that situation, I had to go for something big.
So I immediately chose to buy the super-power package.
I closed my eyes, pressed the "accept purchase" button, and hoped for the best. For a few seconds, I hesitated to open my eyes, but I didn’t have much time to waste.
Opening my eyes, I discovered I had received the power: <Dream World>.
The name alone didn’t tell me much, so I started reading the description. As with almost everything in the app, the description was simple and vague.
I had gained the ability to place someone in a dreamlike state indistinguishable from reality, and I had control over that dream.
But if, while this power was activated, someone noticed they were in a dream, I would be unable to use it for a week.
The existence of this negative effect made me hesitate. I wanted to test what the ability did, but I was afraid to use it and ended up unable to use it for a week.
"Don’t worry, you can leave the ability to me." It was at that moment that I heard Lilith’s voice echo inside my head.
"Lilith," I murmured, looking around.
"Wrong!" The voice echoed once more inside my mind. "Did you forget about your manager?"
I finally understood: that voice was the same one I had heard when I activated my incubus form.
"Exactly!" the succubus replied. "Don’t worry, I can control the ability for you. It will weaken me a little, but that won’t be a problem."
It was a relief to know I wouldn’t struggle to use the powers. Still, I needed to understand better what I was truly capable of.
"If you’re so curious, let me show you."
She snapped her fingers, and then Max walked to his room and started playing. Lee Hua went to bed, and Helena began a board game with Alice.
"What happened?" I asked.
"They’re living in a dream," the succubus explained. "They believe they’re just having an ordinary day. The dream effect forces them to forget certain things. In this case, Clara."
Continuing her explanation, the succubus pointed at Max, and suddenly, I could see the world through his eyes.
The boy had returned from college after a long, tiring day. Then he turned on his computer and started playing games to unwind.
In his mind, every concern about Clara and everything that had happened over the past few months had simply vanished.
But the most striking thing was that he wasn’t just dreaming about playing; he had actually turned on the computer and was really playing.
Still, even when I approached him and touched his shoulder, he didn’t notice my existence, as I wasn’t part of his dreamscape.
"But, if you prefer, you can actually put them to sleep," Succubi explained.
Then, with a snap of her fingers, she sent Max falling to the ground into a deep sleep.
"What do you think? Your power isn’t so bad, is it?"
