Guide To Train My Beast Husbands-Chapter 228: Rong Xian (III)
Xie Daiyu walked inside the cave; his face was twisted with fury. He stepped past the crowd and asked in a low voice, "Who is daring enough to harm Chanchan?" He dumped the heavy hind leg that he was carrying on his shoulder onto the floor, and it hit the ground with a thud.
"Why are you jumping in between the conversation for no reason?" Aunt Baidi spoke with a helpless expression. She knew that the mer had heard only part of the conversation and was reacting to it. She rolled her eyes and said to him, "It’s not what you think." She then relayed what happened to Xie Daiyu, and by the time she finished speaking, Xie Daiyu was frowning so hard that he could have squeezed a fly with his brows alone.
"Rong Xian —what is he doing here?"
Xie Daiyu asked with a frown on his face, and Aunt Baidi sighed. "I told you that the prince was heading to the beast capital—"
"The path of the beast capital is on the other side; unless the prince was heading to the mass graveyard, I don’t see why he would travel past here."
Aunt Baidi: "..."
Ruan Chanchan: "..."
The two women looked at one another and then turned to look at the front once again. Now that he had brought up this matter, they realised that the mer was indeed on the wrong path.
An awkward silence stretched over the cave before Yuan Ni burst out suddenly, "Don’t tell me that this brat was dropped by the assassins here?!"
The entire crowd: "..." Shit! Someone actually schemed so terribly against their tribe!
Thus, Ruan Chanchan realised that when the tribe panicked, they would unite in a manner that no one could even think about. Because the second they realised that their tribe was getting schemed against, they picked her up, someone threw her over their shoulders, and then before she knew it, she was hauled out of the cave and brought in front of the cave where Rong Xian was resting.
Ruan Chanchan: "..."
You could have simply told her to come here; there was no need to toss her so hard.
She could have walked on her feet.
That would have stopped her waist from cracking in places where she didn’t know it could crack.
Xie Daiyu and the rest: You don’t even know what you are talking about, do you? Because the real waist-cracking was yet to happen.
Ruan Chanchan, however, had to admit that the strength and fitness of the totem warriors were really something else. It had to be five or six times more than that of a normal person. Because they actually brought her here within a matter of a few seconds. If she had come down here on her own, then she would have taken at least fifteen minutes to walk down the trail, but these totem warriors, they just jumped here and then they jumped there before coming down to this cave.
But on the downside, she was feeling a bit nauseous after getting jostled around so hard.
She had an initial estimate of the strength of the totem warriors and guessed whether she could ever awaken the same strength as the totem warriors. After all, staying in the beast world, she too wanted to awaken as a totem warrior.
Crackle. Crackle.
"Your highness, please hold on." Zhai Rongyu cried when he saw that Rong Xian’s eyes were closing. As a totem warrior, this was the first time he had felt so helpless. He thought that, as someone who could bring down the greatest beast in the beast world, he was destined to do bigger and greater things, but he never thought that there would be a day when he would feel so helpless. Zhai Rongyu looked at his prince and wondered where he had gone wrong. If only he were a bit more careful, then nothing like this would have happened. "Your highness, try to channel your energy to the wound."
He never expected that while trying to travel secretly to the beast capital, they would end up in trouble like this. If the queen were to find out that he allowed the prince to sneak outside the territory and even allowed him to dodge and escape the many guards, she would definitely skin him alive.
Rong Xian was caught off guard because of the sudden attack by the assassins. If not for the sacrifices of his guards, he was sure that he would have lost his life by now.
"Cough, cough..." Rong Xian’s vision started to get blurred, and he weakly said, "Zhai Rongyu... I don’t think that I will be able to survive. You should ... you should call my mother and tell her the truth."
He could feel his strength disappearing from him and his body turning cold. He couldn’t even condense his spiritual energy anymore. He had lost too much blood after that bastard took a swipe at his stomach.
"Your highness, don’t say such a thing. You will be fine. Just ... just hold on. I heard from the people of the tribe that there is someone who can connect with the beast goddess; as long as that woman comes here to rescue you, I am sure that you will be fine. Just hold on a little more, your highness." Zhai Rongyu was worried that the prince would really give up and hurriedly handed him the hope that he was waiting for. He was worried that the mer was slowly losing hope, and that was where the despondence was coming from.
Zhai Rongyu didn’t know whether there was truly someone who could connect to the beast goddess or whether it was some crook. At this point, as long as this woman could save his prince’s life, he would willingly worship her.
"Rongyu, just tell my mother that she shouldn’t blame the Big Bear Tribe for my death. I was the one who did something wrong by sneaking out; they did nothing wrong—don’t let the tribe attack them for no reason."
"Your highness—"
"Promise me!"
