Noh Yuno remembered fainting and hitting the floor.

"I was told you refused to train as an Esper, and that was how you became the perfect Guide. But it doesn’t seem to be true," Bambi said, raising an eyebrow. "Hiding hundreds of hearts and Cores inside you must be a skill."

To be honest, Yuno was lost.

He was just trying not to show it since he didn’t want to appear like a clueless idiot in front of Bambi.

"But I didn’t receive any report regarding this ability of yours, Noh Yuno," Bambi said, frowning. "What else are you hiding from us?"

"I should be the one asking that," Yuno said, changing the topic. Since he couldn’t answer Bambi’s questions, he might as well drop it. He wasn’t obligated to satiate this pink bastard’s curiosity anyway. "You looked surprised when you found out that I was an E-Class Guide. But you’re actually working with my siblings. Was that all an act?"

"Ah, that? No, I’m not that great of an actor," Bambi said, chuckling while shaking his head. "I’ve only recently been connected with your fellow E-Class Guides. But one of us has been working with them from the start. I just didn’t work directly with them to avoid suspicions from people who have sharp senses."

Only one person from Bambi’s side worked directly with Yuno’s siblings?

"Was it Matthew?" Yuno asked curiously. "To be precise, the thing that possessed Matthew. You were working with that thing, but not with my siblings."

"That’s right, I’m working with the thing that possessed Matthew. But that thing has been working with your siblings from the start, so I don’t really know things about E-Class Guides," Bambi explained, and then he smiled. "However, I’ve been working with someone who knows Espers more than anyone else. You can say that she’s my master."

And then, as if it were a scene from a horror movie a human figure emerged from it.

At first, it looked like a human-shaped candle.

But, eventually, the ’wax’ melted and the person under it was finally revealed.

Yuno knitted his eyebrows, surprised. "Eun Rina?"

It was the Guide who was supposed to be Yang Youngjae’s new Guide.

But she turns out to be an E-Class Guide.

"You still look the same, Noh Yuno."

Hmm?

The voice that came out of Eun Rina didn’t sound familiar.

It actually didn’t match the female Guide’s youthful face.

She sounded like an old woman, and that’s not the voice that I remember.

"I should be resting, but I had to come here as soon as I woke up because I couldn’t wait to see you again, Noh Yuno," the fake Eun Rina said, her old and raspy voice still didn’t match her youthful appearance. "Since I’m still in my recovery period, please excuse my incomplete form."

"You’re not Eun Rina," Yuno said, knitting his eyebrows. "Who are you?"

"My name is Song Heejin."

Okay, who the hell was that?

I feel like I’ve heard that name before, but my brain is too tired to remember.

The fake Eun Rina chuckled as if she were amused by Yuno’s confusion. "Will you recognize me if I introduce myself as ’Mother?’"

Oh.

’Mother.’

The witch who tormented the First Generation of Espers?

"You’re Gayoon Hyung’s abuser."

The fake Eun Rina— no, Song Heejin, the witch— looked shocked by Yuno’s bluntness.

Bambi, on the other hand, just sighed as if he was already used to it.

"I don’t know how you came back from the dead, but I’m glad you’re still alive," Yuno said, taking a deep breath before using what little strength and stamina he had recovered to stand up. And then he walked towards Song Heejin. "I have to thank you for "taking care" of Gayoon Hyung."

Song Heejin knitted her eyebrows as if she were confused, and then—

THWAK.

That was the sound of Yuno punching Song Heejin in the face.

CRAAACK.

And that was the sound of his fingers breaking.

It hurt as hell.

Worse, Song Heejin didn’t even move an inch even after Yuno punched the witch with all his might.

Damn, is her body made of steel?

But he was still slightly satisfied with the result.

Song Heejin’s nose bled, after all.

But the best part?

The witch looked shocked as hell.

"Noh Yuno, you crazy bastard," Bambi said, stepping back as if he were afraid. "Mother loses her mind when she bleeds..."

"She’s not the only crazy person here," Yuno said, scoffing. Yes, he was being stupid. He should just be running his mouth instead of engaging in a physical fight he would never win. However, this was the person who abused Ki Gayoon for years. "Song Heejin, I’m not yet done making you pay for what you did to Gayoon Hyung— so, please die by my hands."

Moon Noa clicked his tongue when he felt the murderous aura coming from the next room.

He could tell that Noh Yuno was in danger this time.

"You’re not going anywhere, Moon Noa," Erwan said, blocking his way. "Didn’t I already tell you that this is a trial that Noh Yuno must face on his own?"

Tsk.

Moon Noa clenched his hands tightly, wondering if he could fight an Esper.

However, it seemed like he didn’t have to use his own strength.

"Noa-san, it’s been a while."

Erwan’s eyes widened in shock when, out of nowhere, a majestic-looking man appeared— standing in front of Moon Noa like the prince that he was.

"I’m sorry for making you wait, Noa-san."

Moon Noa recognized the man right away, but his mouth opened on its own before he could stop himself from breaking the prince’s heart.

"Who are you?"
