Grinding EXP From Fireball Skill-Chapter 102: Tower Master
Gu Ze looked at Li Wei and asked, "Why the sudden urge to become an Official Mage?"
Li Wei spread his hands and said helplessly, "That old coot Leviedan wanted me to bribe him. Otherwise, he was going to assign me to teach Apprentice Mages."
"I didn’t want to go, and I didn’t want to spend the money."
Gu Ze smiled and said, "It’s actually for the best. This will save you a lot of trouble." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"After you revealed such astonishing talent, I expect Mages will soon be approaching you, wanting to take you on as a disciple."
Rota reminded him, "Even though you aren’t that High Tier Mage’s disciple yet, you should still be careful. If he becomes displeased with you taking someone else as your master, it wouldn’t be worth the trouble."
Hearing this, Li Wei froze for a moment before remembering what he had told Rota.
’I can’t believe he still remembers that.’
’It was just an excuse I made up on the spot, going along with what Rota was saying, and he actually believed it.’
He glanced at Gu Ze.
Gu Ze said with a serious expression, "Mage Rota has a point. You should consider it carefully."
"It would be best if you had a chance to ask this master you’ve never met."
Li Wei met his gaze for a moment, then nodded and replied, "Yes, I understand."
He looked toward Lilith and asked, "Is this the new Mage at the Mage Tower, Lilith?"
Gu Ze heard this and instantly understood, nodding. "Yes, let me introduce you."
"Lilith, a Tier One Peak Shadow Mage."
Li Wei laughed inwardly. ’Tier One Peak?’
’As if I’d believe that.’
Li Wei smiled and greeted Lilith, "Hello, I’m Li Wei."
Lilith looked at his outstretched hand, paused for a moment, then reached out and touched it briefly.
"This is the second time we’ve met," Lilith said.
Li Wei said, "We met outside the cafeteria last time. If I was presumptuous then, please forgive me."
Lilith looked at him. "Mm."
"Congratulations. I’m leaving."
Lilith turned and left.
Li Wei watched her go, his expression relaxing a bit after she was gone.
Gu Ze looked at Li Wei and asked, "What’s going on? What exactly is the relationship between you two?"
Li Wei shot him a look and said, "If there’s nothing else, I’ll be heading back."
"Goodbye, Teacher Gu Ze, Mage Rota."
Li Wei left the testing hall.
Rota watched Li Wei leave, then looked at Gu Ze and asked, "What’s the relationship between Lilith and Li Wei?"
Gu Ze shook his head and said, "I’m not sure either."
Rota didn’t press the matter further.
Li Wei waited in his room for a while before Gu Ze came and knocked on the door.
The Shadow Attendant opened the door and invited Gu Ze inside.
Gu Ze wasn’t surprised by the Shadow Attendant; he had seen it before.
Although he wasn’t sure what the Shadow Attendant was, he generally knew it was likely one of Li Wei’s Summoned Creatures, or a servant.
Everyone has their own secrets, and he wasn’t one to pry too much.
Gu Ze glanced around the room and said, "Now that you’re an Official Mage, you can move to the fifth floor of the Mage Tower."
Li Wei shook his head. "Never mind, I don’t want to move for now."
Gu Ze nodded. "That’s up to you. Official Mages can live wherever they want."
"By the way, what exactly is the relationship between you and Lilith?" Gu Ze pressed.
Li Wei said, "There’s no relationship. We’re just strangers."
"Weren’t you the person Lilith was looking for before?" Gu Ze asked doubtfully.
Li Wei said, "It probably wasn’t me. Otherwise, there’s no way she wouldn’t have recognized me when she saw me."
’I don’t want to drag Gu Ze into this mess.’
Hearing this, Gu Ze nodded. "Then I must have been mistaken."
"She was probably looking for someone else."
Gu Ze changed the subject. "Have you heard? They’ve unearthed Secret Silver Ore at the Kovada Mine."
Hearing this, Li Wei felt that the name Kovada Mine sounded a bit familiar.
He thought for a moment and remembered where he had heard it.
The soldiers stationed in the Dark Valley had said that the Beastmen were all sent to the Kovada Mine as miner slaves.
Soon, his attention shifted to the Secret Silver Ore.
Mithril is the most critical material for crafting Magic Equipment.
For Mages, it was a treasure they could never have enough of.
Mithril has an extremely high affinity for Mana, and the loss when conducting Mana and Magic Elements is extremely low.
It is an essential material for crafting High Level Magic Items and Magic Equipment.
A small piece of Mithril is worth several hundred Gold Coins.
Li Wei looked at Gu Ze and asked in confusion, "The Kovada Mine is the City Lord’s territory. Even if they found Secret Silver Ore, what does that have to do with us?"
Gu Ze explained, "That’s the key. Secret Silver Ore is usually found alongside large deposits of Flowing Silver Ore."
"And Flowing Silver Ore attracts a type of Magic Beast called Iron-Eating Ants."
"The bodies of Iron-Eating Ants are incredibly tough, like metal or stone. Ordinary soldiers are completely unable to deal with them."
"A large number of Iron-Eating Ants have appeared in the Kovada Mine, and the City Lord’s Mansion is currently unable to handle these Magic Beasts, so they can only commission the Professional Association to help solve the problem."
Gu Ze said with a smile, "Coincidentally, Mages are the natural enemy of Iron-Eating Ants."
"Although the bodies of Iron-Eating Ants are very tough and impervious to swords and axes, their Magic Resistance isn’t strong. Magic can kill them quite easily."
"After the City Lord’s Mansion issued the commission, many Mages accepted the quest."
Li Wei smiled knowingly and said, "They want the Secret Silver Ore?"
Gu Ze nodded. "Exactly."
"High Level Magic Equipment is always custom-made. If you want to commission a piece, you have to prepare enough materials and money, and Mithril is the most crucial component."
"I’m also planning to go to the Kovada Mine to see if I can get some Secret Silver Ore."
"Want to go together?" Gu Ze asked.
Li Wei thought for a moment, then shook his head. "No thanks. There’s no Magic Equipment I particularly want right now, so I’ll sit this adventure out."
’I do want to go, but I want to go alone.’
’If I go with other people, I won’t be able to go all out. I can’t use my full power.’
Hearing this, Gu Ze nodded. "Alright."
After Gu Ze left, Li Wei stayed in his room to cultivate.
In the afternoon, he received a message from the Magic Butler, telling him to go to the Sixth Floor of the Mage Tower.
’The Sixth Floor of the Mage Tower?’
Li Wei looked up. The Mage Tower was only seven floors high.
He already knew what the first through fifth floors were for.
The Sixth and Seventh Floors remained a mystery.
Li Wei arrived at the third-floor hall and passed through a golden gate.
He had expected to arrive on the fourth floor, but instead, he came out directly on the Sixth Floor.
The Sixth Floor was a completely open hall.
Eight white stone pillars supported the floor above, and beyond them was open sky.
There was no path leading to the Seventh Floor.
Li Wei glanced around before his eyes fell on the red carpet at his feet.
He followed the red carpet forward and saw an old man sitting in the center of the hall with his back to him.
"We meet for the first time. I am Torresta, the Tower Master of the Maple City Mage Tower," the old man said, his back still to him.
"Li Wei pays his respects, Lord Tower Master," Li Wei said with a bow.
This was also the first time Li Wei had learned the Tower Master’s name.
Torresta, the only Grand Mage in Maple City.
Allen had obtained a Rock Demon Beast’s Demon Core from Tanya; perhaps he had a chance of becoming Maple City’s second Grand Mage.
