God of Technology: Creating the Internet in Another World-Chapter 356: Our Stock’s Going Crazy
Every time Viscount Roster and the Roster Territory Group Company developed a new machine, they’d promote it on the Magic Net.
But for Magic Net users, the impact of promotional effects versus actual usage effects was on completely different levels!
Harvesting wheat is a complicated process, one that really needs efficiency.
Even if you sent out some supernatural beings to do it, it wouldn’t boost efficiency by much. So many people had experienced the crisis and disaster of a single rainstorm.
This time, they really saw, in these agricultural Magic Conductors, a chance to avoid those risks.
For small estates, buying one might be a losing proposition, not worth it, but for large estates and merchants, it was worth it.
If some small local nobles teamed up to buy one, that’d be worth it too.
Especially after seeing that the agricultural machines Roster Territory was selling came in more than one type—harvesters like this, not all of them being these super-large, super-expensive ones—people got even more interested.
In just one night, that cleric finished harvesting all the wheat in a certain valley area of the Hill Lands Commonwealth, before the next day’s rain arrived.
Looking at their wheat all safely stored inside, watching the rain outside, every lord, every manor owner, every person in charge of a knight’s farm had excitement written all over their face.
Just by paying a small fee to hire the Church of Agriculture’s agricultural machines, they’d avoided such a huge crisis. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
For everyone, it was a massive pleasant surprise.
What people didn’t expect was that at nine o’clock, as soon as the stock market opened, Roster Territory Group Company’s stock jumped up sharply.
It seemed like everyone had realized from last night’s events the huge potential of Roster Territory Group Company and the future sales volume of agricultural Magic Conductors.
Dawn Southern Territory.
Viscount Roster looked at the new crops still growing strong in the farmland, a broad smile on his face. Though these new crops were still dozens of days from maturity, just from how they were growing now, you could clearly tell the yield was going to be extraordinary.
Agricultural output would directly affect population numbers, and population numbers would affect how many workers they’d have in the future. Most importantly, it would affect the number of believers.
When these new crops became widespread, when a new population boom happened, when these newly born children started developing their own ability to think for themselves, the Magic Conductor tech era would definitely have developed quite well.
At that point, who would these people believe in?
It was already obvious.
Everything he’d pursued, everything he believed in, all seemed to be developing in a good direction right now.
"Lord Roster, our stock’s going crazy."
A voice suddenly came from behind Viscount Roster, making him pause. "What?"
"Our stock’s going crazy. Last night in the Hill Lands Commonwealth, the agricultural Magic Conductors made a huge splash and people posted it online. Especially this morning when it really did rain and they avoided the losses—even more so. So many people online are talking about it, and a lot of people think our market value was underestimated. Now it’s skyrocketing—one share’s already close to 30 gold coins!"
Viscount Roster’s mind went a bit blank.
Close to 30 gold coins!
Didn’t that mean the 100 shares he’d put out were worth almost 30 million gold coins?
The company’s market value had already exceeded 100 million gold coins, and was even approaching 120 million gold coins?
And this was without the magic-powered vehicles even starting official sales yet. Once those started selling... he couldn’t even imagine!
Is this what the God meant by—a rising tide lifts all boats?
"Stay calm. Don’t we know exactly how much our company’s worth?"
After all, he’d experienced so much recently, so Viscount Roster reacted pretty quickly. He soon got his emotions under control and said with a smile, "This is just the beginning. Our company’s going to become more and more valuable in the future, as long as we can stay at the forefront of the times and become the force leading the era."
"Speaking of which, things at Foster Iron Mine should be pretty much ready, right? The large-scale construction of new mining areas and metallurgy plants? Our factory here will be finished soon, and we’re going to need tons and tons of steel."
The young man following him looked at his lord, his eyes full of admiration. To hear about something like this and still stay so calm—just this composure alone wasn’t something ordinary people could match.
He quickly adjusted his thoughts and thought about the situation there before saying, "The wild mage said they’re in the final stages. If nothing goes wrong, in ten days, the first batch of steel can start being produced. Output will be at least thirty times higher than previous years, and by the end of this year it should reach a hundred times."
"Excellent!" Viscount Roster nodded. "Let’s go check out the factory. If possible, let’s try to start mass production of magic-powered vehicles in fifteen days."
"Also, the lab here needs to be finished as soon as possible. Once the first batch of steel is manufactured, have the wild mage and his people come straight here to do deeper development."
"Man, too bad we still don’t have enough researchers. Otherwise the efficiency and product iteration speed would be way faster. I wonder when the first batch of people working in this field will be trained."
"You’ve already accomplished so much in such a short time—you’re already amazing. In the past few hundred, even few thousand years, there hasn’t been this much change on this continent." The young man spoke very respectfully.
Viscount Roster shook his head slightly. "No, the God is amazing. Without the God, I would’ve been killed by thugs long ago. Without the God, we wouldn’t have received so much inspiration, and we wouldn’t have the achievements we have now."
As Viscount Roster spoke, his tone became increasingly cheerful.
Around the same time.
Kingdom of Dawn, in a small estate not far from Roster Territory.
The great playwright Louis Auguste looked with satisfaction at the filming site in front of him, at the footage they’d just recorded, and said, "Everyone’s worked hard lately. Our play is almost finished—we just need one last shoot in Roster Territory. I’ve already worked things out with the people in charge of Roster Territory. Tomorrow we can head over!"
"Really? Master Auguste, we can really go to Viscount Roster’s territory?" Someone immediately exclaimed, "I thought we were going to film the final scenes here with sets we built!"
"Without using Roster Territory as the finale, I felt like our new-style play was missing something, so I went to talk with the current person in charge of Roster Territory. Didn’t expect them to agree so readily." The great playwright Louis Auguste said excitedly.
This was an idea he’d had after seeing Magic Net videos. Being able to get this far was also because Dragon Bank was willing to give them a loan.
Right now, he was drowning in debt, but he felt it was all worth it!
