God of Pets-Chapter 456: A Different Price
Chen Guan didn’t dare look at Bu Changning and quickly walked away from there.
When he arrived at Xiu Yingmei’s house, he entered the password and pushed the door open.
The decor surprised Chen Guan a bit; he didn’t expect someone as cool as Xiu Yingmei to like such pink things.
The whole house was decorated in a girlish style, particularly the pink little bed in the bedroom and a row of princess dolls beside it.
"My youthful heart," Chen Guan said, sitting on the bed and playing with a doll.
At first, he found it interesting, but soon grew tired of it, put the doll back, lay on the bed to rest, and unknowingly fell asleep.
He was only awakened by the sound of the door.
Walking out of the bedroom, he indeed saw Xiu Yingmei coming in.
"You were supposed to contact me long ago, why are you only showing up now?" Xiu Yingmei asked with a stern face.
Chen Guan had told Xiu Jie Ming that he would contact Xiu Yingmei, and the two would be in touch through her.
Under normal circumstances, Chen Guan should have contacted Xiu Yingmei earlier, but he was delayed by a ride on the Spirit King Ship.
"I got lost, that’s why I’m back now," Chen Guan explained.
"Do I look like a fool to you?" Xiu Yingmei rolled her eyes at him, changed out of her shoes, put on her house slippers, and hung her coat on the rack.
"I need an identity to enter the Beimang Mountain Secret Realm again." Chen Guan couldn’t help but be drawn to Xiu Yingmei.
Usually, she was in armor, looking like a dashing female War God.
But today, after taking off her coat, Xiu Yingmei’s tight outfit showed off her athletic figure, making her look exceptionally captivating.
Xiu Yingmei flopped onto the sofa, closing her eyes. "I’m tired, give me a shoulder massage before we talk about anything else."
"This...isn’t it inappropriate...just the two of us..." Chen Guan hesitated.
"If you don’t want to, figure out your identity on your own," Xiu Yingmei retorted coldly.
"I didn’t say I wouldn’t," Chen Guan conceded, sitting beside the sofa and reaching to massage Xiu Yingmei’s shoulders. "Please handle the identity quickly, I have other things to handle."
"So eager to get back to Ji Nanhong?" Xiu Yingmei’s voice turned colder. "I tell you, there are too many eyes around Ji Nanhong. Even if you enter the Beimang Mountain Secret Realm, you can’t contact her."
"Why would I contact her? I’m really busy. Didn’t your brother tell you I have a skilled friend? We got separated. I need to find him quickly," Chen Guan said.
He was telling the truth; he needed to find Fu Tianji, such a powerful ally couldn’t just be lost.
But his first priority was elsewhere; before that, he had to find Fujimura Reiko from King of Eight.
Fujimura Reiko lost half a Secret God Core but completed the mission. Who knew if King of Eight would punish her? Chen Guan needed to act fast to prevent any accidents.
However, he couldn’t disclose this to Xiu Yingmei; Fujimura Reiko’s move had to be kept secret for now.
"I prepared it a while ago, originally to give you when you left the Beimang Mountain Secret Realm, but you never came to find me. By the way, how did you leave the Beimang Mountain Secret Realm?" Xiu Yingmei asked, getting up and retrieving some identification documents for Chen Guan from a side cabinet.
Chen Guan looked them over; the documents and ID were thorough, but they lacked his photo.
"Where’s the photo?" Chen Guan inquired.
"You can’t go back looking the same, can you? Others aren’t blind; they’ll recognize you," Xiu Yingmei gave him a sideways look. "Groom your appearance a bit, and I’ll take your photo now."
Chen Guan nodded, using Giant Spirit Power to alter his physique, then tidied his face in the mirror.
"Wait a minute," Xiu Yingmei stopped him as he was about to groom his eyebrows.
She took the razor, smiling, "Let me do your eyebrows."
"Just don’t make them look too bad," Chen Guan laughed.
"Sit still and stop talking, or I’ll slit your throat," Xiu Yingmei warned, slowly gliding the razor over his throat.
"Sis, be careful, my neck’s fragile," Chen Guan responded.
"Then be quiet," Xiu Yingmei said, moving in front of him, bending down to examine his eyebrows before she slowly worked.
Chen Guan dared not move or look around; her position was a bit unsettling.
He feared an excited slip and a cut on his face.
Once she finished his eyebrows, Xiu Yingmei blew away the trimmed hairs, stepped back slightly, and examined Chen Guan’s face.
Xiu Yingmei’s eyes suddenly gleamed, "This is it! I wondered why you always looked a bit off; now your eyebrows suit you, changing your entire look."
"Finished?" Chen Guan asked.
"Almost, don’t move," Xiu Yingmei instructed, leaning in again, this time directly straddling his lap; as she scrutinized his eyebrows, Chen Guan felt the weight of two invisible mountains pressing down.
Chen Guan remained motionless, allowing Xiu Yingmei to gently brush his brows, her breath warm against his face.
Xiu Yingmei couldn’t tear her gaze away from him; the makeover had given Chen Guan an unnameable beauty and a hint of mischief, a stark contrast from his usual boy-next-door persona.
Watching him, Xiu Yingmei’s heart unexpectedly raced, thundering like a drum.
In that moment, she was entranced.
Instinctively, she hooked a hand under Chen Guan’s chin, compelling him to tilt up his head as she leaned slowly down.
Her hair cascaded down, her lips nearly touched his before a finger abruptly blocked the scene.
"Sis, if we’re just doing eyebrows, let’s do eyebrows; anything else costs extra," Chen Guan said flatly, his finger halting her lips and breath.
"Go to hell," Xiu Yingmei snapped, throwing down the razor and grabbing a pink pillow to smother Chen Guan.
Chen Guan’s fingers tickled Xiu Yingmei’s side, like a Thunder Strike; her body stiffened, then she sprang up, glaring at him.
"Still taking photos?" Chen Guan chuckled.
"Yes, this memorial photo, I’ll take it perfectly," Xiu Yingmei gritted her teeth.
