God of Money: Reincarnated as the Weakest SSS Rank-Chapter 47: Magic Theory
Chapter 47: Magic Theory
Just below were the names of the Gods revered in the world. He was curious that, among those Gods, there was a well-known name: London Lockward.
And there were only four names listed.
But he did not give it any importance.
He continued his reading and soon found himself immersed in reading about the theory of many basic magics. This theoretical basis reminded him of his days as a student, when there were Physics classes.
The concepts and how they were explained were similar, except that magic patterns were used instead of equations.
However, these also had the peculiarity of using the scientific method. First comes the observation, then the formulation of a hypothesis based on what you saw, then experimentation and analysis of the results of your experiment to finally get into the path of Theories.
How does the same Arkanometric Fabric work, and how could it work?
What functions does an Arkanometric Fabric fulfill in the world, and in what way could it affect it?
Behind the creation of a simple Arkanometric Fabric, there is a whole Theory formulated to make sense of it in a world of constant advancement. To give it a place in a world where Arkanometric Fabrics are innumerable and many are totally meaningless.
Therefore, magic is a profound path that seeks perfection. It seeks nothing but perfection.
Even the search for the truth behind everything is not as important as magical understanding. This is because it is believed that behind Magic and in something that magicians call: The Passive Abyss, lies the beginning and the end.
Reading this book was an eye-opener for Louis. He didn’t expect even the tiresome theories to be so striking.
But he had to focus on the basis of the three fabrics he was studying. He had to ignore a good part of the book precisely because of that.
Right now, finishing the mission was more important.
Thus, two hours passed. He made notes on a blank sheet of paper so he wouldn’t forget and checked off a few things from the Grimoire to verify them.
Although it didn’t explicitly say how to create these Fabrics, because that varies from person to person, he still had great revelations that would help him create them.
The theory was exciting, but he had to put the book aside and return to drawing on paper.
The book gave him a very simple way to learn how to create them. He didn’t know why he hadn’t thought of it before: he had to draw the same Fabric numerous times with ink, with the exact dimensions, to get used to its movement and dimensions.
It made a lot of sense, so he soon started doing it.
1, 2, 3...
Up to 10 times, which was the moment he could increase the speed of doing it.
After doing it 10 times with normal ink, he immediately grabbed another piece of paper and started "drawing" using the Arkanometric Flow Threads.
He quickly realized that the grimoire had hit the nail on the head, for his speed multiplied as he knew what to do. In addition, his successes in formulating it also peaked.
The Rune began to complete in front of him slowly...
25 minutes later...
It exploded.
Still, he was not discouraged. He continued to try. He wrote down where he had failed and why he had done so to try to improve. At the same time, he occasionally read the notes he had made earlier, allowing him to make rapid progress.
That night, he was so involved in his research and creation that he forgot to eat. He continued his way through the creation of the Arkanometric Fabric of Water.
Because the first one he made was fire, this one became much more difficult for him. But after 8 hours...
During the wee hours of the morning, he took a deep breath and walked away from the paper where he had been making the Fabric. A smile came to his lips, and he felt incredibly good when he saw his 2nd Arkanometric Fabric shining.
’God, this has taken me longer than I thought.’ He thought, looking at the clock hanging on the wall.
But, having finished, he now had a lot of magical information in his head. Thanks to this, he realized one thing.
’What was failing initially was because I constantly sent fire aura to a water rune. These magic patterns are not just constructed of threads. Each thread has its own specialization, or if they are neutral threads, I would give this specialization, right?’
’That being the case, in a place of fire or in a sea, the fabrics would have magical specializations according to the most abundant attribute. And that would make it easier to create patterns of said attribute. Though I don’t get any information on that in the grimoire, perhaps I can ask Professor Hardrial.’
Louis smiled, excited by what he was seeing and learning. He paid no attention to them late at night because if he slept, he wouldn’t have time to learn the last pattern.
He looked at the system and, after confirming that it validated the creation of the 2nd Fabric for him, he began to study the third.
It was 4 a.m., and there were only six hours left before the 24 hours passed, but his morale was high enough not to doubt his abilities and to focus solely on creating it.
So, dawn broke quickly.
He brushed his teeth and rushed to the Academy at 7 am. He didn’t even eat.
He was the first to arrive from his class, and by the time Hardrial and Laura arrived, he was already focused on his world.
They both arrived at 8 a.m., the starting time for the day.
Louis was already at the part where the magic pattern began to send information about it to his mind through his hands (or mana, something he had discovered early in the morning).
Thanks to this, he saw the time to finally create the pattern approaching, and no one disturbed him.
But, 15 minutes later...
His magic pattern exploded.
Being made of wind and already having magic embedded in each thread, the wind explosion affected not only the paper but also the surroundings.
This caused the threads to hit other threads at high speed. There were so many, some vertically, some horizontally, that when they met this blast, some strange explosions were created.
At first, Louis was frustrated by the explosion, but when he saw this, he could tell that the scattered threads suddenly began to form strange, magical patterns with the threads that were simply there, as always, covering the whole world.
A human being could not touch these threads freely if magic were not used to do so. But with each other, they could collide and touch.
All this led to a wind-driven magical explosion, forming very simple magical patterns that seemed to have their own specific functions.
Some threw small gusts of wind to the side and upward. Others simply vanished, and, in a moment, the room seemed to fill with small waves of wind that were hard to perceive but fluttered to all sides.
Hardrial noticed this and frowned. ’Did he cause a magical reaction? He...’ But he couldn’t continue his thoughts.
Louis could see them with some clarity, so his eyes sparkled when he perceived the meaning behind it.
"Is that your second...?" Laura tried to speak to him, but before she could formulate her question, he grabbed another piece of paper, ignored her, and dove in again.
Hardrial moved quickly to stop Laura from saying anything else. "Shh." He signaled her to be quiet and continued to stare, frowning.
