God Class Awakening: Ascension of the Demon Hunter-Chapter 49: Three eyed tribe
There was a saying that time slowed down before a person truly died. Even though Vale had died twice, this was the first time he truly understood what it meant.
His brain seemed to be working much faster now that the pressure of death had set in.
But it still wasn’t enough; a slash of his dagger and a sandworm died, but there were twenty more where it came from. His hands moved with frightening precision under pressure.
In the end, though, he was just one man. Not less than five seconds into the siege, he was already covered in bite marks. Blood flowed from multiple open wounds.
Just when he thought the world was beginning to fade, he heard the sharp whistle of something cutting through the air as a flaming arrow accelerated towards him.
His mind told him it was Roxy, trying to save him in a last-ditch effort. He smiled a little.
However, when the arrows continued coming down in incessant rain of fire, he soon realised it wasn’t her. The sandworms also realised something was wrong as the flaming arrow killed them one after another.
They stopped trying to attack Vale and began looking for the culprit.
The sand worms couldn’t pinpoint the source of danger and this forced them to start retreating underground.
By the time Vale realised that he was no longer being attacked, all the sandworms were gone and he was standing alone, surrounded by flaming arrows.
He tried to see who had helped them but his eyes were stained by blood. Taking a step forward, his body slowly lost all energy and he fell towards the ground. The world slowly went black.

The first thing Vale felt when he woke up was the fierce winds slashing against his exposed skin. He also felt the lower parts of his body being submerged in a viscous liquid.
After a while, he finally opened his eyes. There wasn’t much light so he was able to adjust himself to reality.
Half of his body was submerged in a small pool-like construct filled with something that wasn’t water. As for where he was, he took a glance around and figured he was in the forest of inverted spears.
And he was currently on top of one of the spears. The whole world seemed visible from this high ground. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"You woke up quite fast." A voice sounded from beside Vale.
His head spun to the source and he found a young man sitting on the edge of the pillar.
Although the third vertical eye on his forehead made Vale wonder if he was actually a man.
"Most people don’t recover from the type of injuries you sustained. Not even when soaked in mother’s nectar."
The man’s eyes were on Vale, but he would occasionally glance into the distance.
Vale raised a brow, clearly confused as to how he got here.
"Did you save me?" He asked.
The man nodded. "It’s hard to survive the desert, we tried saving others, but alas..."
"We?"
"Yes, my siblings and I. Don’t worry, you’ll meet them eventually."
Since they had saved them Vale didn’t think the man was hostile, but he wasn’t going to let his guard down so fast.
"Where are the others?"
The man seemed to think for a moment before remembering something. "Ahh, your women. They’re safe. The one with the small breasts suffered some injuries so we also took her to another nectar pool. Don’t worry, only women are allowed in that area."
Vale’s eyes twitched when he heard the man’s statement. Not only were they not his women, but why the hell was he classifying them by boobs size?
Although it was clear that he was talking about Rein.
"The one with big breasts has a temper, but we were able to calm her down. She was so worried about you." The man lowered his head and let out a sigh. "Brother, you are lucky with women, unlike me."
Vale’s mouth was agape as he looked at the grown man who looked to be on the verge of tears.
He wondered if he should clear the misunderstanding and tell him that they weren’t his women. After a while, he decided against it. It wasn’t such a bad misunderstanding.
"So how long do I need to soak in this?" Vale changed the subject.
"When you feel you’ve had enough." He shrugged, suggesting Vale could stay as long as he liked.
The nectar was indeed cool on the skin and it seemed to seep into his bones, spreading a feeling of coolness all over his body.
But even though he wanted to stay longer, he had to figure out where he was.
It seemed to be a community; if it was then perhaps they could stay a few days before continuing on their journey.
Seeing Vale getting out of the nectar, the man, who he later found to be named Agul, gave him some clothes. The nectar had a type of non-sticking property so he had no need for a towel. This surprised Vale, but he quickly accepted it.
The moon was up now, so Vale guessed that he had been out for quite some time.
"The town head said you and your group should get some rest," Agul replied after Vale asked if he needed to see the town head.
Vale frowned slightly, these people were very hospitable. It made one wonder if they had ulterior motives.
Vale shook his head; they had taken him while he was unconscious. If they had any plans they would have revealed them long ago.
Looking at the clothes Agul had handed him, Vale raised a brow.
"Yours were beyond repair. So we had to get something else for you. You can find your other clothes and belongings at the house prepared for you."
Vale was a bit surprised when he heard there was a house prepared for him. Nevertheless, he still followed Agul down. They had added a staircase to the pillar, so it wasn’t hard to get down.
When Vale finally got to the ground, he couldn’t help but marvel at the civilization that these people had built.
