God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.-Chapter 1087: Blood Rising (3).
’Of course, with the blood moon gone, their overwhelming advantage is gone as well.’
The only reason they had been able to fight so well and defend against the Devils with practically zero losses, wa because of the existence of that moon that not only amplified their powers, it also amplified the presence of their goddess in the world of Urbus.
Without it, they were not nearly as scary as they would have been.
"How much do you know about the Blood Elders?"
Cain turned to face Gilead. This time, he was speaking directly to him.
Cain hummed unde this breath.
Thanks to Evangeline who for some reason, was rather knowledgeable on the internal structure of the Blood Moon Sect, he was also able to have a grasp on the true power of their enemies.
"They are all very powerful. Each one at the peak of the second Tier, from what I’ve heard."
His brows were knitted together,
"They all also have small armies beneath them. Depending on the elder, the strength and nature of the army changes. The nature of the blessings from their goddess is also strange and dangerous, so caution is most important when dealing with them."
Gilead was silent for a bit, then nodded,
"In the end, we humans have fallen into enmity because of the endeavors of the gods."
Beorstone roared in laughter,
"The sooner yer accept that, the better it would be for yer, human! There ain’t no alliances because of what yer. Friends n’ enemies? Those are all based on allegiances to gods within certain pantheons. If yer gods are friends, then yer is friends as well. In the grander world, that is the nature of things."
Alvi turned to the dwarf curiously,
"Beorstone, you seem quite knowledgeable about this."
Beorstone shrugged,
"That world of mine has been past where yer world is for ten thousand years, Alvi. Unlike us, there are some Dwarves who enjoy licking the arses of the damn Highlanders. And that is because of the relationship their patron god has with that of the darned bastards. So we hate the arse-lickers and they hate us too. Absolutely vile stuff."
Cain frowned. He knew gathering the humans into one unified front was going to be difficult. However, Beorstone’s words made him realize just how potentially hard it could be.
There could be certain subsets of surviving humans who were destined to destroy one another simply because of the affinity of their gods. All because of celestial rivalries.
Since the gods could not outright destroy each other, they could simply just destroy the foundations of their faith and divinity;
The mortals and otherwise that worshipped them.
"I see." Gilead muttered.
Then he turned to Lukas who had remained silent all this while,
"What kind of relationship does your god hold towards Balangol?"
Lukas, lying on the rough back of the {Longhorn Mare} slowly opened his eyes.
He was silent for a moment then answered,
"There is no relationship. Apparently, they have little to no association with one another."
Gilead raised a brow, "Is that so..."
Lukas slowly sat up,
"Of course z depending on their future interests, that might be subject to change."
There was a dangerous look in his eyes when he said that, but Gilead simply chuckled.
Then he turned to Cain.
Lukas wore a suspicious look in his face as he asked,
"And you, Cain... What god do you serve?"
Cain narrowed his eyes.
"That’s a rather difficult question to answer."
The legend of Ashur was a strange one. Although many knew of his existence as a celestial beast that had once battled in the war that had lasted a thousand millennia, most didn’t know of his relationship with Tian.
What was well known, however, was that he was one of the very few gods that had had his Divinity completely obliterated by the heavenly emperor. As such, he could not be brought back to life by gathering divinity.
Hell, not even a god remnant would be left after that destruction.
Cain pursed his lips.
He couldn’t reveal his relationship with Ashur specifically because of that reason. If he did, there was a chance minute as it was, that the heavenly emperor could catch wind of his existence.
If that happened, what was he to do if all the heavens stood against him?
At that point, even running away would be impossible.
Lukas’ gaze was evenore suspicious after his reply.
Then he snorted,
"What the hell are you being so suspicious over? Either way, I don’t really care."
He yawned and turned to the side, staring over the edge of the beast.
His brows were knitted in frustration,
"These things are rather uncomfortable to sleep on."
"You’ll get used to it." Gilead said with a chuckle.
"Well, I’ll have her know! If yer ride on a {Biremole}, yer be in fer the worst ride of yer life, I reckon!" Beorstone said with roaring laughter.
Putting away the boisterous laugh of the {Black-Hearth Dwarf} from his mind, Cain let his gaze drift into the distance too.
The wind whipped through his hair again, providing that ever so subtle chill that eased his mind.
Of course, it felt just like the calm before the storm. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
In the end, there would be no battle against good and evil. Nothing was ever so simple.
This was a battle of interests. The threat the Blood Moon Sect represented was not one he could simply afford to look away from.
And if reason failed again, he would have no problems with spilling human blood, regardless of how hesitant he usually was.
He suddenly frowned,
’In the end, that makes me no different from these damned Celestial’s, huh... So much for hypocrisy.’
He suddenly chuckled to himself.
Being a hypocrite was fine. In the end, as long as he gets what he wanted. That’s all that mattered.
Besides, there was no law that stated they absolutely had to get into another stupid fight.
There was always room for a resolution. One that didn’t involve blood and death.
Right?
