Chapter 1034: Wager

As Shane descended, his aura spread across the battlefield...

The atmosphere itself seemed to have become heavier. It felt like there was pressure compelling them to kneel.

Shinja, standing among the Doom Knights, grinned as he saw the Clan Leader.

Shane had been away for quite a while since he had to settle the Blue Haven Shelter. Furthermore, Shinja was mostly doing missions outside the shelter, so the two of them could rarely meet each other. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

"Finally... our leader has revealed himself. Now they will know the true despair." He tightened his grip on his sword, already imagining the spoils of victory.

The Super Soldiers, led by Atlas, raised their weapons high.

Atlas smirked as well, with his halberd glowing faintly as he shouted, "Our commander is here! Victory is certain!"

Beside him, Orion and Cassius exchanged confident smiles, and their men also started roaring in approval.

The sight of Shane filled them with confidence, and of course, it intimidated the enemies!

Asad, on the other hand, was still hiding underground. However, he was observing everything through his Wraith Queen.

He couldn’t help but chuckle at Shane’s entrance, but he knew that it was effective since their fatigue vanished and their morale surged.

The battlefield seemed to be heavily in their favor now.

Shane’s mere appearance was enough to make his army feel invincible.

But on the other side, the Overlord Clan felt the crushing weight of his aura.

The Aura Knights faltered for a moment with their hands trembling on their weapons. The assassins who had just retreated to the inner wall also whispered among themselves.

"His presence... it’s suffocating."

"Is this the true power of Shane?"

"No wonder he’s the Rank 1 Survivor."

"Is that Survivor Gear Set? Why is he wearing a cheap set though?"

"Heh~ That’s definitely a Tier 5 Set. Don’t underestimate it."

Even Selvaris, his armor still sparking with residual lightning, clenched his jaw as he saw Shane’s Heaven’s Wrath.

He had faced countless enemies, but the aura radiating from Shane was unlike anything he had ever felt.

Then, at this moment, all eyes turned to Lancelot.

The soldiers whispered nervously.

"Can our Clan Leader withstand this?"

"If even Lesley struggled to force the mechs away... what chance do we have against him?"

Lancelot, however, remained calm. He remained standing tall, unbothered by their reaction as he focused on Shane.

Though his people worried, his smirk never faded.

Still, the tension was undeniable. Shane’s army smiled with confidence, with their morale at all-time high.

The Overlord Clan’s defenders, on the other hand, felt the pressure of his presence pressing down on their hearts...

Soon, while Shane was still in the air, he spoke.

"Why would I accept a duel? I can just destroy your shelter." He said, filled with arrogance.

But Lancelot only smirked in return.

"You could," Lancelot admitted. "But if you do... I will unleash something that will destroy both of us."

The crowd murmured in shock. Even Shane’s commanders glanced at each other, unsure about this thing.

Shane narrowed his eyes as he felt that the man was just desperate and bluffing.

"What are you talking about?"

The air around Lancelot changed as he raised his hand, the ring on his finger glowed with ominous red light.

"This shelter," Lancelot said, with a deadly serious tone, "sits above the Spirit Vein mine. Explosives have already been planted deep below. This ring is the trigger. At any moment, I could detonate it, and everything here would vanish. Your Fortress will be caught, even if it’s high up in the sky... The explosion will include everyone in my Clan, but that doesn’t matter."

The battlefield fell silent.

Shane’s smile faltered for the first time.

He hadn’t expected Lancelot to hold such a threat.

Still, doubt lingered in his mind.

’Would Lancelot really destroy everything? His ambition is too great... he wouldn’t throw it all away so easily.’

"You wouldn’t dare," Shane said, testing him.

But Lancelot’s smirk deepened. "You’re right. I don’t want to use it. But if you force me, I will. And unlike you, I can afford to gamble everything."

Shane was curious. "What do you mean?"

Lancelot spoke with a cold voice.

"Because I hold the Immortality Talent. Even if this shelter is destroyed, I will return. And if you think victory will be yours, you’re mistaken. My clan and the Overlord Alliance are prepared. If we fall here, they will unleash suicide bombers across your shelters. Every corner of your domain will burn."

Gasps rippled through the defenders and attackers alike. Even Shane’s commanders stiffened at the mention of suicide bombers.

Shane’s expression hardened. "Immortality... so the rumor’s true."

Well, he also had a similar trick that could revive him even after death, but Lancelot’s talent was definitely terrifying.

For a moment, he considered his options.

He had overwhelming firepower, enough to shatter the inner wall’s barrier and crush the Overlord Clan. But sacrificing more Super Soldiers and risking retaliation across his shelters was not worth it.

Finally, Shane smiled again, though this time, he felt a little relieved.

"Fine. I’ll accept your challenge. A one-on-one duel."

In his mind, Shane wasn’t conceding. He simply wanted to see Lancelot’s limit for himself in the first place.

He knew that defeating the Rank 2 Clan wouldn’t be so easy with his current force. He was also aware that they had prepared some escape route if needed.

Nonetheless, he had no intention of wasting more of his army when he could measure the strength of the Overlord Clan’s leader directly.

Soon, the two leaders faced each other.

The armies on both sides held their breath, waiting for the terms to be set.

Lancelot raised his hand...

"The duel will be fought below, just outside this inner wall. No limitations on weapons, no restrictions on abilities. But there will be no backup from others. If either side interferes, they will pay dearly."

Shane chuckled. "Fine. I don’t need anyone else. I’ll crush you myself."

Then, Lancelot’s tone shifted as he looked at Shane with greed showing in his eyes.

"As for the wager..."
