Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All-Chapter 876: Extra(7)
Ou Lin had been begging Qiao Li to marry him for nine whole years. Every birthday, every holiday, every random Tuesday, he would find a way to bring it up.
Finally, at the age of twenty-nine, Qiao Li sighed and said, "Fine. Let’s get married."
The moment they got their marriage certificate, Ou Lin’s face lit up like a child winning a candy factory. Without a second thought, he grabbed Qiao Li and kissed her right in front of everyone.
"Ou Lin! What are you doing?!" Qiao Li hissed, her face turning red. She glared at him, wondering if he even understood what personal space meant.
But Ou Lin only grinned, holding up the marriage certificate. "We’re married now. I’ve been waiting for this moment for... well, forever."
Qiao Li crossed her arms but didn’t push him away this time. After all, she had agreed to marry him. This was the man she had known and liked for over twenty years.
Ou Lin took a deep breath and said, "Let’s go somewhere quiet for now."
Qiao Li frowned. "Why quiet?"
"Honeymoon," he replied simply.
"Honeymoon? We haven’t even had a wedding yet!" Qiao Li rolled her eyes.
"I’ll arrange the wedding," Ou Lin said seriously. "You just be ready for the honeymoon."
Then, as if he weren’t the one who had been acting like a love-starved wolf five seconds ago, he calmly went to the driver’s seat and started the car.
Watching him act so casual made Qiao Li suspicious. "Does this guy even love me?" she wondered.
Her eyes wandered down, and then she saw it. Her face burned. She pointed at him. "You... shameless!"
Ou Lin chuckled. "Too late. We’re already married. Even if you know I’m shameless, you can’t do anything about it."
Qiao Li muttered, "This guy is totally insane."
Soon, their wedding took place. It wasn’t as grand as Yu Holea and Qiao Jun’s, but it was beautiful. Ou Lin had made sure everything was perfect for her.
When the night came and they entered the bridal room, Ou Lin finally let himself indulge. By the end of it, Qiao Li was glaring at him while he massaged her back.
"Next time, I’ll listen to you and stop earlier," Ou Lin promised.
"It would be better if you said nothing," Qiao Li replied dryly.
But Ou Lin smirked and added, "Although... you lasted longer than I expected."
"Ou Lin!" she shouted.
An hour later, she truly thought her back might break. She decided to just endure it, telling herself it was only once.
Of course, during the honeymoon, she found out that Ou Lin was a complete liar in bed. One morning, fed up, she grabbed a pillow and smacked him while he was still asleep.
"Wake up, you tyrant!" she growled.
Ou Lin opened one eye, caught the pillow, and said, "What’s this? Didn’t I perform well last night?"
Qiao Li froze, shivered, and tried to escape, but Ou Lin was faster. Three more hours later, she promised herself never to wake him up again.
Years passed like that. Sometimes, Qiao Li wondered if the gentleman she liked as a child was even the real Ou Lin.
Outside the bedroom, he was perfect... gentle, caring, cooking for her, protecting her from all trouble, and even making sure she got along with Mrs. Ou.
Mrs. Ou treated Qiao Li like her own daughter. She had watched her grow up and gave the couple plenty of space. Life was peaceful.
Until one morning.
Qiao Li was sitting in the bathroom, staring at a little stick in her hand. Her heart raced.
"No way..." she whispered.
Ou Lin knocked on the door. "Li? You okay in there?"
"I... might be pregnant," she said, her voice shaking.
There was silence for two seconds. Then a loud thud.
"Ou Lin?!"
"I dropped my phone!" his voice came, followed by a laugh. "Wait! I’m going to be a dad?! Li, open the door!"
"Don’t get too excited," she said quickly. "I’m not even sure yet."
Ou Lin’s voice was full of excitement. "I knew it! I told you all that honeymoon ’training’ would work!"
Qiao Li groaned. "You are impossible."
..........
During her pregnancy, Qiao Li’s mood was a lot more stable than others. Still, she sometimes had tantrums, especially in the middle of the night. One night, she woke up at two in the morning and shook Ou Lin’s arm.
"Ou Lin," she whispered.
He opened one eye. "Hmm? What’s wrong? Is the baby kicking?"
"I want homemade vanilla ice cream," she said seriously.
Ou Lin rubbed his eyes. "Ice cream? Now?"
"Yes. And not the store one. Yours," she insisted.
He chuckled softly. "Alright. Give me twenty minutes."
In truth, Ou Lin never complained about her requests. For him, doing things for Qiao Li was the happiest thing in the world.
Since they were kids, he had been waiting for chances like this. Whenever she asked for something, he gave it to her right away. Of course, he also gave her little surprises she did not ask for.
Ou Lin got up quietly and went to the kitchen. Soon, the smell of vanilla filled the air. He worked carefully, mixing and stirring until the ice cream was perfect.
When he came back with the bowl, Qiao Li was fast asleep. Her breathing was soft and even, her hand resting gently on her belly.
Ou Lin smiled, leaned down, and kissed her forehead. "Sleep well, my queen," he whispered. He put the ice cream in the freezer, already sure she would ask for it later.
The next morning, Qiao Li woke up with a new craving.
"I want something sour," she told the cook.
Soon, the table was full of sour dishes. She ate with a happy face. Compared to other pregnant women, she had no morning sickness, no nausea, nothing.
Ou Lin watched her eat and smiled knowingly. He had made sure of this.
For a whole year before she got pregnant, he avoided alcohol, smoking, and any bad habits. He kept himself in top health so that her pregnancy would be safe.
After she finished the sour dishes, Qiao Li suddenly remembered something. "Where is my vanilla ice cream from last night?"
Ou Lin chuckled. "I knew you would ask. But you just ate a lot of sour food. You need to wait until your body is ready for something cold."
Qiao Li thought about it. When it came to her children, she was always careful. She nodded. "Fine. I’ll wait."
Half an hour later, Ou Lin brought out the ice cream. "Here you go, my lady."
Qiao Li took a spoonful, closed her eyes, and smiled. "Sometimes, you are actually useful."
Ou Lin grinned. "I can be very useful, if you let me."
Her pregnancy went on like this. Sometimes, her requests were strange. One day in her eighth month, she told him, "Don’t stay near me."
Ou Lin was confused. "Why not? Did I do something wrong?"
"Just don’t ask questions," she said quickly. "Stay away for now."
He was worried, but he respected her words. Still, one morning, he went to check on her and heard soft crying from the bedroom. His heart sank. He rushed in.
"What happened? Are you hurt?" he asked.
Qiao Li’s red eyes widened. "I told you not to come in!"
But he ignored her anger and hugged her. "Tell me what’s wrong."
She stayed quiet for a moment, then burst into tears. "I... I can’t hold my pee anymore. I keep wetting the bed. I didn’t want you to know." 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Ou Lin looked at the bedsheet and understood. "So that’s why you wanted me away."
Her face turned red. "It’s disgusting. I’m disgusting."
He patted her back gently. "It’s normal. It’s all part of pregnancy. You don’t have to hide it from me."
"I just didn’t want you to think..."
"I could never think badly of you," he interrupted. "From now on, I’ll take care of it. You rest."
No matter how much she told him not to, Ou Lin cleaned the bed himself every time. He even joked once, "Even your pee smells like flowers."
Qiao Li stared at him in disbelief. "You’re insane."
"Insanely in love with you," he replied with a grin.
Her heart softened. Slowly, she stopped feeling ashamed and learned to accept his help.
Finally, the day of birth arrived. In the delivery room, Qiao Li gripped his hand so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
"Don’t let go," she said through clenched teeth.
"I’ll never let go," he promised.
For two hours, she struggled and screamed. Ou Lin kept wiping her sweat and whispering, "You’re doing great. I’m right here."
At last, the sound of two cries filled the room.
"They’re here!" the doctor announced.
Ou Lin’s eyes lit up, but his first look was not at the babies...it was at Qiao Li. "Are you okay? Does it hurt?"
She gave him a tired smile. "Of course it hurts, idiot. But... they’re beautiful."
The nurse brought over the twins, one boy and one girl. Ou Lin’s face softened completely. "Our babies..." he whispered.
