Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All-Chapter 860: Club
She smiled warmly at Yu Holea and guided her to one of the chairs at the table.
Yu Holea sat down slowly, still unsure. "I... I haven’t served tea yet. Shouldn’t I..."
Mrs. Qiao chuckled along with Mr. Qiao. They both waved their hands as if brushing the idea away.
"No need to worry about rituals," Mrs. Qiao said kindly. "We know you respect us. That’s enough."
Mr. Qiao nodded. "And we know this beast didn’t even let you eat."
He shot a look at Qiao Jun, who was now sitting in a corner, pretending to be very busy staring at the ceiling.
Mrs. Qiao turned to the servants and called out, "Bring out the dishes she likes. She must be starving."
In just a few minutes, the entire table was filled with Yu Holea’s favorite dishes. The smell made her stomach growl loudly, and everyone heard it.
Her cheeks turned pink, but she couldn’t stop smiling.
She started eating, first the dishes that were light, then the richer, spicier ones. She even reached for some dessert.
As she ate, she looked around. "Did you all eat already?" she asked with concern.
Qiao Li replied quickly, "Don’t worry. We already ate. We were just waiting for you to come downstairs."
Yu Holea gasped. "I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to make you all wait! I woke up too late—"
Before she could continue, Qiao Li smiled and waved her hand. "It’s fine, really. We understand."
Mrs. Qiao nodded. "We all know who the real culprit is." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
She looked at Qiao Jun with a sad shake of her head. "I never imagined I gave birth to such a beast."
Mr. Qiao added calmly, "Maybe we should have married you off to another child in our family, Holea. Someone better than this guy."
Qiao Jun stayed quiet and kept sipping his tea with a smile on his lips.
’They’re jealous,’ he thought smugly. ’All of them.’
He even began humming a light tune under his breath, just to irritate them more.
One by one, the rest of the Qiao family noticed.
Qiao Li groaned, "Stop acting so pleased with yourself!"
"You’ve got no shame!" Qiao Zifei yelled, pouting.
"Someone take that smug grin off his face!" Qiao Zirui cried.
Mrs. Qiao frowned. "This boy has no conscience!"
Even Mr. Qiao muttered, "I’ve never seen someone so proud to be scolded."
The more they cursed at him, the more Qiao Jun smiled.
’Let them curse,’ he thought. ’They’re only mad because they didn’t get time with her. I win. I’m still the one she slept beside.’
He hummed even louder.
Qiao Li could only suck in deep breaths, trying not to scream.
Her fingers curled into fists under the table. If she had a time machine, she swore she would travel back and slap her past-life self for ever thinking Qiao Jun and Yu Holea were a good match.
Just look at them now! Her second brother had completely monopolized Yu Holea like she was his personal treasure or something.
The more Qiao Li thought about it, the more she felt unbalanced and annoyed. The fire in her chest wouldn’t go away. She wanted to do something to stir the peace. Suddenly, an idea popped into her mind, and her eyes lit up with mischief.
She turned to Yu Holea and said casually, "Holea, do you wanna go clubbing with me tonight?"
Yu Holea blinked, surprised. "Clubbing? Uh..."
Before she could even answer properly, Mrs. Qiao, who had been silently sipping her tea, suddenly clapped her hands excitedly.
"Oh, I want to go too! It’s been years since I’ve gone to a club! Let’s have a girls’ night!"
In an instant, both Qiao Jun and Mr. Qiao’s faces changed completely.
Qiao Jun frowned and said, "You shouldn’t go. Clubs are too noisy and dangerous."
Mr. Qiao also shook his head. "Exactly! It’s not a proper place for ladies like you!"
Yu Holea looked at Qiao Jun calmly and said, "This isn’t your place to butt in."
Mrs. Qiao raised her eyebrows and turned to her husband, repeating, "Yes. This is not your place to interfere."
Qiao Jun and Mr. Qiao both sat there, stunned and awkward, like balloons that had suddenly lost air. They just stared at their wives with helpless looks.
Qiao Li smirked proudly. "Hmph, see? I still have power in this house."
But when she looked at Qiao Jun again, a chill went down her spine. That guy was definitely going to do something. He was not going to let Yu Holea set one foot out of the house.
And sure enough... when evening came, Qiao Jun suddenly fell sick.
He lay in bed with a red face and warm forehead. Everyone gathered around him, confused.
"Fever?" Qiao Zirui asked, shocked.
Yu Holea’s eyes widened. She rushed to his side, placing a cool cloth on his forehead. "Jun... are you okay?"
Qiao Li crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes. "He’s faking it."
Everyone in the Qiao family looked at each other. Honestly... she might be right.
But no one dared say it aloud. They all knew something important: Yu Holea loved Qiao Jun too much.
Even if he was lying, she wouldn’t leave his side. She’d stay and take care of him no matter what.
Qiao Jun lay in bed with his eyes half-closed. Inside, he was smirking.
Success. Now Holea won’t leave his side tonight.
But as he watched Yu Holea move around the room, bringing wet towels, medicine, and even soup, guilt started growing in his heart.
She’s working so hard because of me...
He grabbed her hand and whispered, "As long as you stay by my side, I’ll feel better. Really."
Yu Holea looked at him with soft eyes and nodded.
Qiao Li rolled her eyes so hard, she almost fell over. "Ugh, can someone please call a doctor instead of letting him pin poor Holea down like a weak kitten? What if she gets sick too?"
Yu Holea shook her head. "That won’t happen. I’m strong. I can handle a little fever."
Qiao Li raised an eyebrow and nodded slowly. "True... You are strong. It’s actually weird."
She stared at Qiao Jun thoughtfully. "You’re a superhuman. You’ve got so many powers... but now you’re the one sick? That’s suspicious."
Yu Holea paused at those words. It was true. Qiao Jun’s body was far stronger than hers. He had powers and strength way beyond normal humans. But now he was lying in bed like a weak chicken.
That doesn’t make sense...
She gently placed her hand on his forehead again.
The fever was real. But still... something didn’t feel right.
And the question hung quietly in the air:
Was Qiao Jun really sick... or was this just another plan to keep her by his side?
Qiao Li gave him one last glare.
"You might’ve fooled her for now," she muttered under her breath, "but next time? I’m bringing garlic and holy water."
Yu Holea stared at Qiao Jun, her face calm, but her eyes serious. The worry she had earlier was slowly disappearing. She didn’t say anything at first.
Then, one by one, the rest of the Qiao family left the room. The door clicked softly as it shut behind them. The room was quiet again.
Yu Holea turned toward Qiao Jun and crossed her arms. "Do you want to say anything?"
Qiao Jun quickly blinked and acted weak again. He sniffled and leaned back into the pillows.
"If... if you hug me," he said in a pitiful voice, "maybe I’ll feel better..."
Yu Holea raised one eyebrow and said coldly, "So, you’re not going to learn your lesson unless I expose everything? Or are you just going to cry only when you see your coffin?"
Qiao Jun froze. His heart skipped a beat.
’She knows...!’
In the next second, the fake feverish glow disappeared from his face. He sat up straight, no more acting.
Without wasting a moment, he got out of bed and knelt in front of Yu Holea.
"I’m sorry," he said seriously. "It was my fault. I shouldn’t have faked being sick just to stop you from going to the club."
Yu Holea gave him a sharp look. "I’m not going to talk to you," she said, turning her back.
"That’s your punishment. Now you know that you can control me using illness. Congratulations."
Qiao Jun panicked. His eyes widened and he quickly shook his head.
"No, no, I was wrong! I won’t ever do it again! I promise! Please don’t ignore me!"
But Yu Holea didn’t say a word. She walked to the bed, climbed in, and turned away from him, her back facing him.
Qiao Jun felt like his heart dropped to the floor. He didn’t expect this prank to become such a big deal. He only wanted her to stay with him a little longer. He thought it would be cute.
But now... he could feel her anger. Her silence felt heavier than any shouting.
