Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All-Chapter 777: Little Darling
Chapter 777: Chapter 777: Little Darling
Meng Nanhao’s lip curled in disgust.
"You’re a good actress. I’ll give you that. You played me perfectly. You let me believe I was smart enough to outplay you. You made me drag my father into this. You made me believe you cared."
"I did care!" she interrupted, her voice breaking.
"I do care, Nanhao! Please believe me. I didn’t want any of this to happen. I—I never meant to hurt you."
For a long moment, he didn’t speak. Then, with a quiet, measured voice, he said, "Then prove it."
Ou Xiaoxiao froze. "How?"
"Run away with me," he said.
"No explanations to your family. No contact. Just leave it all behind. If you want me to believe you weren’t part of the plan... if you want me to forgive you... Then come with me."
She gasped softly. "You’re serious?"
"I’ve never been more serious in my life," Nanhao said.
There was a pause—just a second. Then she whispered, "Okay."
"When and where?" she asked, voice shaking.
"Tomorrow night," he replied.
"Ten o’clock. The edge of Dragon Hill, where the old train tracks are. No one will follow us there. If you’re not there, I’ll know everything you said was a lie."
"I’ll be there," she said, her voice barely audible. "I’ll come."
He didn’t reply. He simply hung up.
The moment the call ended, Meng Nanhao slowly turned around to face the dim hospital room. His father was awake again, staring at him with a faint look of concern.
"You spoke to her?" Meng Qingshan asked.
"Yes." Nanhao’s voice was calm now, too calm. "She took the bait."
Qingshan frowned. "You still trust her?"
"No," Nanhao said coldly. "But I’m going to use her."
He sat down beside the bed and leaned forward, his voice low and deliberate.
"We can still strike back. The Ou family may have won the land, the money, and the image, but their stock is floating high because of this public win.
They’re being praised across the business world for ’outmaneuvering’ us. All it takes is one scandal... one well-placed story... and their image collapses."
His father looked at him sharply. "What are you planning?"
"A scandal involving Ou Xiaoxiao," he said flatly.
"Once she’s with me, we’ll leak a story. We will say that she used my trust in her and leaked the bidding information to the Ou family. We will also say that she misled us to buy the South Land, which originally belonged to the Ou family.
The press will eat it up. A love affair, betrayal, business espionage... and with the Meng name attached? We’ll make sure it looks like she helped us try to sabotage the bidding process."
Qingshan stared. "You’re serious."
"Deadly serious," Nanhao said.
"Think about it. The Ou family built their public image on being united, ethical, and strategic. But if their darling daughter is caught in a scandal involving the very family they just humiliated?
Investors will panic. Stocks will fall. Partners will question their judgment. Trust will shatter."
He stood up, pacing slowly.
"And once their stock value drops and investors start pulling out, we move in. We’ll rally support, we’ll make strategic acquisitions around their weaknesses.
We’ll quietly buy influence. Use public opinion against them. Even if we don’t destroy them completely, we’ll bleed them dry."
His father’s lips twitched in a small, tired smile. "You’ve grown, Nanhao."
"I’ve learned," he said. "From them."
He clenched his fists. "This isn’t just about money anymore. They hurt our name. They made a fool of us. I’m going to show them what it feels like to lose everything."
......
Yu Holea walked into the studio, clutching her script lightly in one hand.
It was her first script reading for the upcoming movie Veiled Glory, and she had been cast as the second female lead—a mysterious character who, behind a soft smile, hid incredible power.
It was a strong role, different from her past quiet characters, and she was excited.
But nothing prepared her for the surprise waiting inside the room.
She pushed open the door to the rehearsal space, expecting a few unfamiliar faces and the director, maybe.
Instead, the moment she entered, three heads turned—and her breath caught.
Sitting at the center of the room was Nan Kelin, the multi-award-winning actor known for his cool expressions and precise acting.
Across from him was Mo Jiang, the industry’s newest darling, whose career had shot through the roof recently.
And beside her, Lin Zhihao, the one who had participated in the variety show alongside her.
Before she could process the situation, Nan Kelin stood up with a smile that completely changed his usual distant image. He walked straight toward her.
"Master Yu," he said warmly, clasping his hands in front of him in a respectful greeting. "It’s good to see you again."
Yu Holea blinked, stunned.
"Eh? You are the male lead?"
"Yes." Nan Kelin nodded.
Just then, Mo Jiang stepped forward with bright eyes and a beaming smile. She took Yu Holea’s hand and held it gently.
"Yu Holea! I was so happy when I saw your name on the cast list!" she said in a cheerful voice. "How have you been lately?"
Yu Holea smiled back politely, her heart warming a little. "I’m doing well. Thank you." freeweɓnøvel~com
Mo Jiang looked at her with sincerity shining in her eyes. To the others, it might have just seemed like she was being friendly
If Yu Holea hadn’t treated her mother...she might have died even before becoming famous.
Now, Mo Jiang’s mother was healthy, walking, laughing, and even going to the morning market again. It was no exaggeration to say Yu Holea had given the family a second chance.
Mo Jiang’s fingers tightened slightly around Yu Holea’s hand.
"When you’re free, can we go shopping together?" she asked softly. "I really want to treat you to something... anything you want."
Yu Holea tilted her head slightly, amused. "Are you trying to bribe me with clothes?"
"Yes," Mo Jiang said shamelessly, laughing. "And coffee. And desserts."
Yu Holea thought for a moment and nodded. "Alright. This weekend?"
"Deal!" Mo Jiang grinned.
At that moment, the director walked in, and the official reading session began.
Everyone took their seats around the long table, but something strange happened.
Nan Kelin, who usually kept his cool and sat silently while flipping through the script, turned to Yu Holea and said,
"If you’re confused about the backstory of scene seven, I can help. I read the whole script twice."
Before she could respond, Mo Jiang placed a bottle of water next to Yu Holea and whispered,
"It’s your favorite brand, right? I remember you said this one doesn’t make your throat dry."
Lin Zhihao, who had been observing quietly, raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised.
The director looked over the top of his glasses, amused. "Well, it seems we have a little queen sitting among us today," he said with a smile.
Everyone laughed lightly, but a few people were clearly confused. Why were Nan Kelin and Mo Jiang, both stars with serious reputations, fussing over Yu Holea like she was someone they needed to protect?
During the reading, whenever Yu Holea read a line, Nan Kelin listened carefully, nodding at her performance.
Once, when she stumbled over a line, Mo Jiang leaned over and whispered the pronunciation so gently that even the assistant director looked surprised.
At break time, Lin Zhihao finally couldn’t hold back his curiosity.
"You guys are acting like she’s your baby cousin or something," he said, pointing his pen at them. "What’s going on?"
Mo Jiang leaned back and smirked. "She’s special."
"Very special," Nan Kelin added without looking up from his script. "You’ll understand eventually."
Yu Holea didn’t say anything. She was used to being treated kindly by those she helped, but she hadn’t expected it to happen so publicly.
As the day went on, more of the crew began to notice. The makeup artist whispered to her assistant,
"Isn’t that Nan Kelin offering her his seat?" The lighting guy nudged the costume director and said,
"Mo Jiang actually peeled an orange and gave it to her."
By the end of the session, everyone had one thing on their mind: who exactly was Yu Holea?
When the reading finally wrapped up, the director clapped his hands and said,
"Good work, everyone! We’ll begin shooting next week."
Nan Kelin proposed,
"Master Yu, let’s go, I will drop you."
Before Yu Holea could reply, Mo Jiang said with a sweet smile,
"That is not possible, Holea is coming with me."
"Eh? Who are you again?" Nan Kelin raised an eyebrow and asked arrogantly. It was clear that he was trying to mock Mo Jiang.
Mo Jiang was used to provocation, she had stayed in the entertainment industry for more than 5 years,
"Wow, Mr. Nan doesn’t even remember a person whom he had met just a few hours before. I doubt he would drop you off at your home properly, Holea."
