Getting Stronger By Fighting-Chapter 586 - 584: Saving the Situation_1
The Thunder Beast merely lifted its hand, and suddenly, several streaks of lightning appeared in the sky!
The massive lightning struck in front of everyone in an instant. They all immediately attempted to defend against it, but how could such defenses withstand the power of this lightning?
Everyone was swiftly thrown backward. Although no one suffered life-threatening injuries, they all knew this was just a minor display of the Thunder Beast's power. Even so, they were already at the end of their ropes!
Uncle Qi hadn't expected such a vast power difference between himself and the Thunder Beast.
However, as their backbone, Uncle Qi could not retreat. He quickly wielded his longsword and rushed towards the Thunder Beast!
The Thunder Beast simply pointed at Uncle Qi, and a streak of lightning materialized from thin air, striking Uncle Qi's longsword.
In an instant, Uncle Qi's longsword shattered into fragments, and a powerful impact knocked him back several steps.
Uncle Qi knelt on one knee, his face drained of color. He spat out a mouthful of Fresh Blood. He had just engaged in a fierce battle with the Thunder Beast; the creature was unaffected, but he was already exhausted. How could he possibly withstand its attacks?
Seeing Uncle Qi losing ground, the other beasts waited for an opportunity to strike, while the people beside Uncle Qi hastened to his side, surrounding him.
"Uncle Qi, are you okay?" a young man rushed to Uncle Qi's side, his voice filled with concern.
Although everyone was terrified, they all felt deeply for Uncle Qi. They knew that if they hadn't been a burden, Uncle Qi could have easily escaped. Their current predicament was solely because Uncle Qi had been protecting them all along.
Uncle Qi waved his hand at them and said, "I'm alright. Soon, I will self-detonate to create an opening for you. You must find a way to escape; the more of you who can escape, the better. But some of you must be ready to sacrifice yourselves. If the beasts catch up, someone must stay behind to cover for the rest. Understand?"
The young men looked at Uncle Qi and made up their minds. If Uncle Qi was willing to sacrifice himself for them, why couldn't they do the same for their teammates?
With this thought, everyone nodded, clearly prepared to stay behind and buy time for their comrades.
Uncle Qi gave a gratified smile, struggling to his feet, ready for his impending death.
The Thunder Beast looked contemptuously at the ant-like crowd before it.
Then, it walked slowly towards them. "A bunch of low-grade losers, that's all you are, yet you delusionally try to obstruct my path. Truly like a mantis trying to stop a chariot—utterly overestimating your strength!"
Just as Uncle Qi was preparing to self-detonate, and the Thunder Beast sensed his intention, it was about to strike. Suddenly, a gigantic Fire Dragon descended from the sky. Many of the beasts were pushed back several steps by the shockwave from the Fire Dragon's appearance.
With the emergence of the Fire Dragon, the Thunder Beast's pupils contracted. It sensed the immense intimidation emanating from the Fire Dragon. Clearly, the attacker was not to be trifled with and possessed extraordinary power!
The other beasts were even more frightened, retreating and daring not to advance.
"Reinforcements from the camp are here!" Uncle Qi's eyes lit up; help was clearly near.
The object that landed on the ground was, naturally, the Deep Fire Blade.
At this moment, Wang Zhan no longer remained watching from the crowd. He transformed into a streak of light and swiftly appeared before everyone.
Following behind Wang Zhan, Xiang Tian also rushed quickly to Uncle Qi's side. Checking his injuries, he anxiously asked, "Are you okay?"
Uncle Qi waved his hand dismissively, his gaze settling strangely on Wang Zhan. After a moment, he frowned and said, "I thought a War God from the camp had arrived, but it seems it's only an outsider."
At a glance, he could tell Wang Zhan's power was merely that of a Grandmaster. Surely not a War God. A Grandmaster of this level couldn't possibly match the Thunder Beast here; he was just throwing his life away.
Despite this, his eyes held a hint of being deeply moved. After all, anyone willing to step forward at a time like this was clearly a person of unyielding character, worthy of respect.
However, Wang Zhan paid no attention to their stares; his focus was solely on the Thunder Beast. The Thunder Beast, equally shocked, stared at Wang Zhan for a long moment before it finally asked, "What are you, and how dare you ruin my plans?"
Wang Zhan stared at the beast for a long moment, then walked over to the Deep Fire Blade. He picked it up and powerfully smashed it down onto the Thunder Beast.
His actions were swift and decisive, like a bolt of lightning crashing from the sky!
Before the Thunder Beast could even react, it felt a powerful force rushing towards it instantly!
The Thunder Beast was instantly sent flying backward.
After retreating several steps, the Thunder Beast finally steadied itself. But before it could retaliate, Wang Zhan reappeared before it. Wang Zhan lifted the Deep Fire Blade once more, and two massive Fire Dragons spread out, sweeping over the entire battlefield.
The destructive power generated by the giant Fire Dragons was far beyond what the Thunder Beast and the other beasts could imagine. They were instantly repelled.
"What...!"
Uncle Qi watched the scene before him in utter shock.
How could such a powerful Thunder Beast be defeated by a mere Grandmaster like Wang Zhan? How was this possible?
Even a peak Grandmaster couldn't easily handle it! This was the Thunder Beast, already half a step into becoming a demonic beast!
Off to the side, Xiang Tian noticed Uncle Qi's gaze and walked over to him. He patted Uncle Qi's shoulder and said with a laugh, "Haven't you all been waiting for the emergence of the Ninth War God? This here is none other than the Ninth War God of the fifth war zone!"
"The Ninth War God?" Uncle Qi's eyes widened instantly, and the people following him gasped in silent shock.
"Are you serious? You're not fooling us? He's really the Ninth War God?"
"That can't be! He looks about the same age as me!"
"Yeah, and besides, his strength is only that of a Grandmaster. How could he become the Ninth War God?"
It was clear that although the people in the crowd were grateful to Wang Zhan, they didn't believe he was the Ninth War God.
After all, the other eight War Gods all possessed combat power that could dominate a defense line, equivalent to that of a Level 1 demonic beast. While Wang Zhan had easily taken down the Thunder Beast, that didn't necessarily mean he could compare to the other eight War Gods.
For a moment, doubts surfaced in everyone's minds, and they clearly didn't fully believe what Xiang Tian was saying.
Xiang Tian laughed. "You don't believe me?"
Uncle Qi's gaze remained fixed on Wang Zhan the entire time.
But Wang Zhan paid no mind to any of this, nor did he hear the crowd's murmurs. The Deep Fire Blade in his hand radiated waves of Fire Light as he weaved back and forth through the beast groups.
Such speed was not to be underestimated!
And it was far beyond anything the crowd could compare to!
Uncle Qi squinted. He could also see that Wang Zhan was only at the Grandmaster level, but the combat power he displayed was far beyond that of an ordinary Grandmaster.
After all, even if a Grandmaster was strong, how could they possibly crush a Thunder Beast?
Now, the Thunder Beast was constantly fleeing, unable to fight back at all.
Under Wang Zhan's assault, the Thunder Beast didn't even have a chance to retaliate.
With every beast Wang Zhan encountered, one would fall dead on the spot.
Such strength was truly terrifying to the extreme.
"Believe it or not, that's up to you," Xiang Tian said. "But my brother is now the Ninth War God, and sooner or later, the truth will be revealed to you all."
"Alright, when my brother has cleared the battlefield, lead us to the new opening."
Xiang Tian looked at Uncle Qi beside him. After all, they were unfamiliar with the terrain, but Uncle Qi had clearly lived here for a long time and knew it extremely well.
Uncle Qi gave a firm nod, then said, "Alright."
"Then... we're not preparing to leave anymore?" a young man standing next to Uncle Qi suddenly asked.
At the mention of this, everyone's expression changed; they all knew what lay at the new opening.
"Oh, if you want to leave, that's simple," Wang Zhan said, having already dealt with the Thunder Beast and the other recent beasts, appearing before them in a few strides. "As for us, we only need to take one path."
Since the others showed no intention of helping, he couldn't force them.
Uncle Qi quickly spoke up, "Not exactly. It's just that the place has now become a battlefield for demonic beasts, so I'm worried that even if you go there, you won't be able to change anything."
"So you mean, the place is now completely occupied by demonic beasts?" Xiang Tian asked. "And the people who were guarding that area before, where have they all gone?"
Letting out a helpless sigh, Uncle Qi glanced at the young men behind him, then shook his head. "Actually, we are the ones who have always been guarding that area. But initially, there weren't many demonic beasts there, so we didn't need to guard much. But now that the fifth war zone has become what it is, with beasts running rampant, we couldn't stop them.
"So we had no choice but to leave, and we withdrew our people from that area."
Hearing this, Xiang Tian immediately turned to Wang Zhan and asked worriedly, "What should we do then? Should we go or not?"
"Go! Of course, we should go!" Wang Zhan declared in a deep voice, "We must reclaim all the territory we have lost!"
