Chapter 129: Another talk

It was already morning.

A quiet hush filled the room as the golden hue of sunlight filtered through the half-closed curtains.

Brandon lay there, his head nestled into the pillow, one arm cradling Ravene against his chest.

She was tucked in close, her leg draped loosely over his hip, her fingers absentmindedly tracing slow circles across his bare chest.

His fingers threaded through her long hair, stroking the strands between his fingers.

She shifted slightly, nuzzling her face deeper into his shoulder with a quiet sigh.

Brandon tilted his head a little, glancing past Ravene to the other side of the bed.

There he saw Eira sleeping with her arms spread open.

For a long moment, Brandon stared at her, "How long before she wakes up...?"

"Hm?" Ravene tilted her head up from his chest slightly, her eyes still half-lidded from sleep.

"She should be waking up soon."

She traced a finger along his jawline, her eyes flickering toward Eira. "Don’t worry about your girlfriend."

Brandon closed his eyes for a brief second. "Mhm..."

His hand, which had been gently resting against Ravene’s lower back, slipped downward cupping the curve of her ass.

She let out a quiet sigh. "When are you going to tell her about us?"

Brandon didn’t answer immediately.

He just stared at the ceiling, his thumb gently stroking over the curve of her waist as his gaze quivered.

"I... I still can’t find the right time to say it to her."

As she raised her gaze. she looked into his eyes and saw the sadness and guilt in his eyes.

’This idiot...’ she thought, her heart aching to look at him like this.

He really do care for Eira... maybe more than he ever intended to. But that didn’t change the warmth he shared with Ravene either.

She leaned up and kissed his lips "Don’t worry. I’ll take care of it."

Brandon blinked. "Huh? How will you take care of this?"

She grinned at him and reached up to pinch his lips between her fingers playfully. "Just trust me," she said with a wink. "I’ll make it work for you..."

He stared at her for a second longer, then let out a long breath and pulled her close again, burying his face in her hair. "I really don’t deserve someone like you, Rave..."

Ravene’s arms wrapped around him, pulling him tighter.

Her voice trembled slightly, though she tried to hide it "Don’t say that. You deserve me... and I deserve you. I chose you, Brandon Kael. I’m not going anywhere."

He was silent for a moment seeing her sincere love before replying, "I love you, Rave... so much. I love you the most."

Her throat tightened at those words.

She squeezed her eyes shut and pressed her face against his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart. "I love you too... always."

---

Eira sat curled up on the plush gray couch, the morning sun casting a pale light across the living room.

She gently pressed her temple, her fingers gently massaging the dull throb in her head.

"Haa..." she sighed softly, her eyelashes fluttering. "I feel like I had a very long sleep..."

Her voice was groggy with lingering fatigue.

Before her thoughts could wander further, Ravene stepped into the living room with a cup of tea in her hand.

"Here, sweetie," Ravene said in a soft tone as she leaned forward and placed the cup on the table in front of Eira.

Eira glanced up "Thanks," she murmured, accepting the gesture with a polite nod.

Ravene simply nodded back and plopped herself down beside Eira on the couch.

Eira took a slow sip of her tea, the warmth spreading through her body, giving her enough clarity to gather her thoughts.

The silence dragged on for a few more seconds before she finally spoke. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

"...Are you serious?"

Ravene tilted her head lazily, "Hm, I don’t joke in stuff like that."

"I really love Kael. And if I wanted to... I could steal him from you. Even now."

Eira froze.

Her fingers clenched around the teacup, and for a moment, she couldn’t quite breathe. "W-What? What are you saying? Brandon—he... he loves me..."

Ravene gave a soft chuckle "Girl.. He does love you. I know that. I see the way he looks at you."

"But I’m pretty sure," she continued, her eyes narrowing slightly, "that more than you... he loves me."

Eira’s heart skipped a beat and she looked into her calm eyes.

"Eh?" Eira blinked, disbelief flickering across her face. "You’re just... saying that. You’re trying to mess with me, right?"

Ravene shook her head with a wistful sigh. "No, Eira. I’m not messing with you. I’m just telling you the truth."

Her eyes softened, drifting toward the window for a moment. "You’ve known him for what? Four or five weeks?"

"But I’ve known Kael since middle school. Hell, even before that. We just didn’t talk much when he was a kid, but I was always there."

Ravene leaned a little closer, "I’ve been protecting him, Eira. Longer than you’ve known him. While you were falling for the person he is now... I’ve loved the boy he was, the boy no one cared about."

"And if I said I love him do you really think he would refuse me?"

Eira’s hand trembled, the teacup clinking gently against the saucer "But... he loves me."

Ravene’s gaze didn’t waver. "I know."

She reached out and gently touched Eira’s shoulder, "You’re sweet. You’re honest. And I don’t hate you, Eira. In fact, I like you. That’s why I’m saying this now... before things get worse."

"I’m not here to tear you apart," she said softly.

"But I am telling you that I’m not backing down."

"I’ve held my tongue for years. I’ve stepped aside more times than I can count. But Brandon Kael belongs to me just as much as he might belong to you."

She rose from the couch "So you can either fight for him... or lose him. But don’t assume you’ve already won."

Eira’s gaze lowered and Ravene sighed in her heart ’I will have to slowly convince her...’

’And make her think that accepting a harem is better than losing him. But for that, her love has to be strong...’

’Is her love really strong?’

’Wait, am I doing a bad thing? Brainwashing?’

’No, No.. anything I do for my husband is right.’

She convinced herself.
