Genetic Ascension-Chapter 930: Exaggerated Number
Sylas checked the list of things he would need to reach Tier 2 of the [Sacred Oculum Transmutation] technique. Although he didn’t recognize most of them, judging by the few he did… well, it would certainly be troublesome.
The first thing on the list he recognized was the Blood Essence of three E-Grade Bronze King Beasts.
It had to be remembered that the King Beasts of Earth were highly suppressed. The strength and power of King Beasts wasn’t decided by their stats alone, but by their Crowns that allowed them to break many rules and have their stats display Effectiveness far beyond their means.
Because Earth’s Runes were always bent, twisted, and devoured by a cancerous sort of energy, King Beasts had never been able to display their truest might.
Of course, this went doubly so far for Sylas that neither had their stats, but relied heavily on his Rune Master abilities. So, it could be said that they would definitely be gaining a boost in the outside world.
But… there was something else to consider as well, and that was that the creatures of Earth had only just evolved due to the Summoning. It had to be remembered that these creatures were once just normal wild beasts before Aether changed them.
King Beasts of Earth hadn’t just evolved. Instead, they came from a long line of beasts that had long settled into their mutations and firmed up their bloodlines. They had legacies passed down to them through their Blood Essence, and their power was far higher as a result.
This was one of the reasons Summoned Worlds were so valuable. Gaining resources as precious as King Beast Blood Essence and Bone Essence would never be easier than it was here.
In the outside world… even the best of geniuses didn’t dare to casually approach a King Beast.
For Sylas to have to gain the Blood Essence of three E-Grade ones was mind numbing… especially since Taboo Bond didn’t even work on E-Grade beasts right now.
He would need trillions more Experience points before he could even get to Level 50. And then he would need to clear what he assumed would be quite the Quest to upgrade his Profession to the next Tier. Your journey continues at novelbuddy
And this was just one of the things on the list…
Taking the eyes of an E-Grade existence with Bronze Grade Ocular Blood Essence sounded like it could be even more difficult, depending.
At the end of the day, anything related to beasts Sylas could just cheat with his Vipermancy. But this… this he definitely couldn’t cheat.
’There’s always the possibility of using wealth…’ Sylas thought to himself as he slotted the technique away.
Either way, he would do what needed to be done. Although he could use Runeweaver with just Tier One of the [Sacred Oculum Transmutation] technique, he would only be able to do it in short spurts, and there would be backlash to consider.
If he wanted to use it fluidly and without limitations, he would need to be at least one tier above.
Essentially, if he wanted to use the full potential of his new Profession, he always needed to be a step ahead. By the time he was in position to upgrade it to the E-Grade, he would already need to be considering how to get [Sacred Oculum Transmutation] to Tier Three.
So on and so forth.
It was either that, or suffer for every use.
Though…
Sylas looked at the inferior versions listed under them.
It was possible that he could lean on the weaker aspects as well. He wondered how powerful they would be. It seemed that time would tell.
What Sylas didn’t know just yet was that Runeweaver would scale with his Rune Mastery. That was why so many of the Quests required him to complete Rune Mastery tasks.
For him… the weaker version was likely already far stronger than the strongest version the disciples of this Profession could manage at F-Grade—if all else was equal.

Sylas raised an eyebrow when he found that the Profession had finally finished tallying his Experience gained. The number was such a long string he didn’t even know how to read it.
He thought himself to be a knowledgeable person, but this…

[System Reward Activated]
—
’… I guess I wasted three System Rewards on this one Profession. But… I can’t say it’s not worth it.’
This time, the System Reward wasn’t boosting his Experience totals. No, what it was doing was allowing him to retroactively gain Experience.
Normally, Experience would only be tabulated after the Profession was gained. Anything he did before would be meaningless. But this time, that wasn’t the case.
For example, before his battle with him, the Basilisk King’s Pride—while it hadn’t been as great as it should be—was still decent. But Sylas didn’t get rewards for what its Pride had once been, but only rewards for helping it rise back up again.
Much the same way, in this case, he shouldn’t have benefited from Rune Mastery challenges he had cleared before gaining this reward, but the system had allowed him to do so using what Sylas could only speculate to be a manipulation of time far beyond his understanding.
And the result… well, Sylas wasn’t even sure that Earth had a name for a number this long. Even if you put it in scientific notation, the exponent would be so long that it couldn’t be worth it. You’d probably have to take the exponents within one another before you finally got yourself a number that was manageable to write.
It was the sort of number you could fill textbooks with, and then those textbooks would fill not just one, but several libraries. Then, you just might run out of space on Earth to house all these libraries and still have a functioning society.
Yes. It was that exaggerated.
How could the reward for reaching Rune Spark not be?
’I guess we’re going to Level 50 immediately, then. Show me how powerful you can be.’
Sylas leveled his first Profession to Level 50.
