Chapter 134: Words

Three Awakened Ones quickly ran out of the mansion. The two weakest together with one of the strongest.

"Run south, I’ll go west!" roared the leader of them and started to run, but just at that moment, two heads flew towards him.

He had to stop because a strange, yet familiar face appeared before him.

"I had heard that Mr. Jeff was serving as platoon leader of the city guard... It seems I’ve discovered a little secret." Elliot smiled coldly and looked at him.

"It’s been many years since we last met... ’Uncle Jeff’."

Jeff shuddered at the sound of this voice. That childish face from his memories seemed to emerge and fit perfectly on the man’s face.

At that, he trembled.

"Yo-Young Mas-Master Clark..." He felt so afraid that he forgot to call him as he used to: Nephew.

And it made sense. He had seen the strength of this young man recently... it scared him as much as the time he first encountered SkyDome.

Elliot swung the sword across his neck. "I’ve learned a few things recently, dear Uncle Jeff." Feeling sarcastic, he walked over to him. "I hope you can talk later. I won’t report you for doing illegal acts, don’t worry."

Then he walked past.

"Bit of misinformation, but not bad." Elliot said, as he looked at three leaders coming out, instead of two, as they should.

According to the research, there were three leaders and two field leaders. But since the two field leaders were dead already, only Jeff was left, making him the third field leader.

Those three men frowned, realizing that it was a boy who was attacking them.

"What the hell is a child doing wanting to get in the way of us elders?" The senior leader frowned and drew his sword. "Whose son are you, little boy? Since you saw everything, you don’t have to come back, but I’ll at least give your family some compensation. It is said that good deeds are well repaid."

Elliot smiled, walking towards them. "Focusing on me is always a foolish decision. When it’s not my summonings that stab you...it’s my beautiful woman." He said, smiling coldly.

Just then, the older leader felt the shiver run down his spine, as a spurt of blood shot out from his partner’s head and splattered him.

He turned to strike quickly, but it was a grave mistake. Looking at Elliot was bad enough; turning his back on him was worse.

"Whose son am I? They call me the Son of SkyDome - ring a bell?" Elliot whispered in his ear, just before grabbing his head and smashing it into the ground.

In the same motion, he decapitated the other leader. It was so fast, but so effective, that even he didn’t believe it.

’Combat tactics with killer finishing moves, huh...’ He remembered the day Anna had been teaching him how to fight.

Thanks to that, he realized that using his power to kill makes him able to use it more nimbly than when he uses it to compete. And this was the first test.

Even though his current strength wasn’t that far off from the opponent he had just decapitated, he did it with such ease that he seemed to be more than 20 strength points over.

Those were good combat tactics with killer moves.

In just a moment, only two were left alive. The one on the ground managed to get up with all his might and pushed Elliot back.

"You bastard, who do you think you are!" He roared and swung his back, lunging at him.

His resistance was high, allowing him to withstand the full impact.

Elliot stepped back and with nimble steps, moved one step forward and two steps to the right. It was so fast that when he appeared at the right, he had already hit his opponent several times.

Then Jenna appeared from behind and pushed the leader again to the ground. She could do so with a force far exceeding her opponent’s resistance, damaging several teeth.

And he could no longer muster the strength to get up.

He looked at the woman’s face behind him and frowned.

’They are absolute geniuses...’ He thought, realizing the age of his enemies and the strength they presented. His chest still burned from those attacks by Elliot, but now his mouth also ached, as he felt several teeth shatter.

He was dizzy. But he remembered Elliot’s words a moment ago.

’Son of SkyDome?’ He raised his head with all his might, spat out the teeth and blood in his mouth, and looked at Elliot.

"You... are you Elliot Clark?" he asked, haltingly.

Elliot turned to look at him. For a brief moment, he frowned, looking at the expression on the bastard’s face, but he continued on his way and grabbed Jeff by the hair. Then he threw him to the ground, face to face with the other bastard.

Then he put one leg up and looked at the one who had asked him the question.

"I am. Do you know me?" he asked.

This man seemed to smile. "Heh, heh... your family... is stupid."

"Oh? What makes you think that one of the longest-running families in the kingdom is stupid?"

"Am I wrong?" He smirked. "They were so... stupid... that they let themselves be manipulated... so easily... heh, heh. It only took a few... words... and they already sold out their most powerful man." He spat blood again, this time on purpose, to spit on Elliot’s shoes.

Only he didn’t get there; he ended up spitting in his friend’s face.

"If that’s not being stupid... what is then?" he sneered.

Elliot frowned.

’...He knows stuff.’ He looked at Jenna and nodded at her.

She knew what to do.

She plunged the sword into the man’s elbow beneath her feet without much thought.

His body stiffened, and his mind trembled. But he did not scream. On the contrary, he smiled.

"You know... why am I... in charge of this?" he asked. He didn’t expect answers, though. "Because... I don’t feel much pain... no matter what you do to me... from me, you won’t get anything."

"Are you sure?" Elliot moved a little toward him. His longsword appeared in his hand, and he pointed it near his eye.

"Heh... do it." He spat the tip of the sword out at the end.

Elliot then thrust it in. A sharp blade shattered his left eye. But he didn’t scream.

"Just...I’m going to tell you...something." The only difference was that his words were now choppy. Between the blood he was losing from his elbow, from his mouth, and his eye, it was all causing him to lose strength quickly.

But that didn’t stop him from speaking.

"You... Clark... are going to perish soon... you have no turning back now... and you, son of SkyDome..." He stared at him. "You will die a terrible... terrible death. Someone... is looking for you... is calling for you... and will find you... very soon."

At last, clear mockery was written in his gestures.

But then he bit his tongue hard enough to finish bleeding out there and soon began to spit blood.

’He’s a bastard.’ Elliot frowned. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

But he was one with a lot of information.

Elliot looked down at Jeff under his feet. He was shaking. ’He must know something too.’ He thought.

"Uncle Jeff, you must be nice this time. I hope you’ll be very cooperative and can answer me clearly." He smiled.
