Game World's Awakening-Chapter 133: Simple Plan
Chapter 133: Simple Plan
’The Thread of Vengeance... one of my father’s best friends back then...’
In front of him was the guard he had seen before, when the Thread of Vengeance was first activated. He knew beforehand to look for him, but he hadn’t expected to find him here, wearing the robes of this organization.
Now it made sense why he is one of the small platoon leaders of the city guard and why he guarded the entrance gates.
That way, he could let in the drug shipments being sent from here to the city. Already inside, they just needed a few direct moves to distribute them overland or send them to the more coastal cities to ship them by sea.
’A good plan that has been working for them for a long time.’ He sighed.
He had a guy in front of him that he should have killed before, but he needed to get information out of him. He looked at Jenna.
"I have unfinished business with that man who just entered the Mansion, don’t kill him. I want to get information out of him about something."
"I understand, Elliot." She looked over the villa and asked. "Which way will we attack?"
"We’ll do it when night falls."
"Okay."
They backed away and hid nearby, always watching to ensure no one escaped. Luckily, Anna had chosen a day when they would all work hard here, without going out.
While they were at it, they formulated a strategy. They didn’t need to do too much; they had the advantage of power and information about everything within this village.
The only disadvantage they had at the moment was numerical inferiority, but most of them were Misfits, so it compensated.
"Therefore, I will leave my summonings behind to distract the Misfits and kill them all. We’ll take advantage of the moment to attack the mansion. Although they have weapons, I can see they’re not very threatening, so there shouldn’t be any problem."
"We’ll have to watch out for traps." Jenna added.
As the strategy was formulated between them, night quickly fell.
A few lights flickered over the village with scattered buildings, and some Misfits came out to stand guard.
"They have magic bells," Jenna said as she looked at the bells hanging from the necks of each of them.
"That was the difficulty, Miss Anna wrote, wasn’t it? Killing one means alerting everyone. How troublesome."
"Well, we’ll just have to coordinate well, by the time your summons start killing, we’ll already be waiting near the main mansion."
"Haha, luckily, these guys are idiots, and they all got inside the same mansion. It won’t be hard to ambush them."
Elliot looked at the time.
"In 15 minutes, I’ll be ready to attack. When I give you the signal, jump over the houses. No one will see you."
Then he jumped down from the tree where they were watching everything and quickly approached between the trees on the mountain to the places where those guards were.
There were two checkpoints at the two entrances to the village.
’There are about 10 at each entrance.’
Elliot summoned two summons, the rat and the tank, to stay here. He signaled them with energy not to move until the signal was given.
Now that they make sense, it is easier to communicate with them. He didn’t need to talk to them 100% of the time, as they could understand things through the movement of energy, so he could do everything silently.
The village entrances were in the south (the front) and the other in the west. The drugs were planted in the north, northeast, and east.
At the south entrance, Elliot left his Rat and the tank. While at the west entrance, he left his mage and the berserker. Being that this guy was half-mad when ordered to attack, it served so that the mage could have a small tank in front and thus be able to do more damage.
Giving signals to that one was tricky, though. He did not understand conventional signals. In the end, he had to resort to a second option, which was the sound of bells.
Once they resonate, technically, he should attack.
He kept the Warrior because he wanted to put it behind the mansion, in case there was an exit to hide.
After that, Elliot, standing in the west, snapped his fingers.
"Did you hear that?" one of the guards inside frowned and stood up, his hands on his sword.
One of his companions frowned. "Like a snap?"
"Yeah..."
Another of them chuckled. "I’m sure it was a cricket, don’t mind him. The west entrance has always been known for weird night noises produced by bugs, " he said, and continued to sit, playing cards.
None of them noticed that the clicking sound was also heard at the south entrance, much less that two shadows crossed over the house at the sound of the clicking.
The first one who had been alerted sighed. ’Maybe I’m a little nervous. We only have a few years left here before we’re finally free, ’ he thought, and sat back down.
’Okay. What did you want to bet? ’I told you that woman I slept with the night I went to town. She’s expensive, but she said she could always be there for me."
"Haha, you already used that one. Give me a newer one. My bet stays the same. I’ll give you an aunt’s daughter. She’s brand new, barely 20 years old. Although her face isn’t that good, at least she’s better than..."
The two seemed to be discussing some things while their companions waited for them. They had been discussing the stakes for a while, as they needed to match them all before playing, and only the two of them were left to join.
But they couldn’t seem to make up their minds.
While that was happening, suddenly, a noise invaded the surroundings.
Quickly, they rose to their feet. Some with their weapons ready, others running to grab them.
"A wild animal?" one of them asked, hearing the heavy footsteps.
But then...
Two humanoid figures emerged in front of them.
One of them was covered in a strange transparent cloak... no, both seemed to have transparency.
"What the hell are these?"
Before either of them could react, some fireballs lit up the night before them.
They couldn’t react in time.
-
Seconds after they both arrived near the Mansion, the thundering sound of bells ringing began.
This alerted the entire village.
From the Misfits who were resting, who numbered over 20, to the Awakened in the Mansion.
It wasn’t just one bell ringing; it was more than 10 in seconds.
Someone was attacking them!
