Galaxy Fall: All My Skills Are Maxed-Chapter 156: A Wealth Beyond Measure
[Day Time. 8 Am.]
The morning sun cast long, golden rays over the massive, reinforced steel of the Dragon Empire’s capital city gate. Hayatobi stood near the grand archway with Gaga, Merlot, Carl, Elizabeth, and Grace. They were all staring at the expeditionary force gathering before them.
At the forefront was Yakima, ten of her elite Dragon Tooth guild members flanking her. Princess Delphine, the legendary Invincible Five, Hitachi, Mirabella, Rose, Aurelia, and Austin completed the formidable roster.
"We will set off now." Yakima yelled, her voice echoing with authority. She was already mounted on her pristine, white armored warhorse. She and her ten guild members were uniformity in motion, all clad in gleaming, high-tier white armor that caught the morning light. This strict militaristic display stood in stark contrast to the Invincible Five, who were all dressed in their highly customized, unique academy combat outfits, with each having a black cloak, and the head of a dragon engraved on its back.
But Mirabella. Standing out by blending in, she was simply dressed in her everyday casual wear, entirely foregoing heavy armor. Resting comfortably on her shoulder was Cupcake.
"You guys should be careful!" Hayatobi yelled at them, the seasoned veteran offering his final blessing as each of the group agilely got on their respective horses. Mirabella, opting out of the saddle, stepped up and entered the expedition’s only luxury carriage alongside Princess Delphine.
Everyone watched in silence as the heavily armed group started their long journey down the paved main road.
"Shouldn’t this be a secret mission, Lord Hayatobi?" Carl asked, a frown of confusion on his young face, staring at Hayatobi’s broad back as the parade-like procession moved away.
"It’s indeed a secret mission, but will anything happen to them with your senior sister there?" Hayatobi asked, looking at Carl over his shoulder with a knowing smirk.
’That girl is something else!! She is already a Colonel, if I slack off, she might past me in six months.’ Hayatobi thought, his gaze returning to the retreating carriage. The sheer, terrifying speed of Mirabella’s progression through the military ranks defied all logic.
’They will succeed.’ He added silently, a profound sense of certainty settling in his chest.
Carl stared at him, then looked back at the moving carriage and exhaled a long breath:
"Come on, Grace, and..." He turned to Elizabeth, his demeanor shifting to one of focused determination:
"Please, do you have a place to settle the deal?" He asked respectfully, treating the older lady as a true business partner.
Elizabeth slowly nodded her head, but her gaze remained fixed on the disappearing carriage. Due to Yakima’s unbelievably rigid and traditional thinking regarding guild hierarchy, the five personal attendants couldn’t join their masters and misses on this high-stakes mission. So she, Zoginoi, and the others were frustratingly left behind at the capital.
"Good, let’s go then." Carl said with a bright smile, heavily motivated as he remembered Mirabella’s parting actions.
____
[Half an hour ago. On the way to the capital gate.]
The cobbled streets of the capital were bustling as the group was all walking towards the rendezvous point, each leading or riding a horse. Mirabella and her small, tight-knit group were moving at the very back of the procession, shielded from the immediate scrutiny of the Dragon Tooth guild.
"How are you doing in the academy?"
Mirabella asked smoothly. Her sudden, casual question stunned Carl, pulling him from his nervous thoughts about the upcoming separation.
"Um... Going smoothly, Big sister. Thanks to you, no one, not even those rich kids could bully me and Grace." Carl answered, a deep sense of gratitude in his voice. He looked over his shoulder at Grace, who was visibly trembling on the back of her mount, clearly still a complete novice at horse riding.
"That is good." Mirabella said softly. Without breaking her stride, she stretched her hand to the side, gesturing her open palm at him.
"....?!!"
Carl was deeply confused, staring blankly at the open palm, then up at Mirabella’s calm face, not knowing what to say or do. Was this a test?
"Just place your hand on my palm." Mirabella instructed patiently, turning her head to face him fully.
Carl nodded hesitantly, and placed his palm against hers.
Instantly, the system interface governing his spatial storage went into absolute chaos. A cascade of silent notifications flooded his mind as high-tier weapons glowing with elemental aura, rare skill scrolls, legendary monster cards, stacks of high-grade healing potions, and concentrated Spirit energy restoration potions forcefully appeared in his storage, relentlessly pouring in until his inventory capacity was completely filled up to its maximum limit.
"....?!!"
Carl was frozen completely stiff on his horse. Even when Mirabella smoothly removed her hand, severing the connection, he stood perfectly still. His hand remained stretched out in the air, his mind completely blank as his brain short-circuited trying to process the sheer, astronomical value of all the loots now sitting in his storage.
"Elizabeth, Grace, come forward." Mirabella looked over her shoulder at the two trailing behind.
"Yes, Miss?" Elizabeth asked, swiftly moving her sleek black horse towards Mirabella, stopping flawlessly beside her.
While Grace fearfully tapped the side of her own horse: "Move forward." She said, her voice trembling, her grip on the reins entirely wrong.
"....?!"
Mirabella and Elizabeth both stopped and stared at her, both momentarily speechless, as Grace’s horse stubbornly came to a dead halt, sensing its rider’s utter lack of confidence.
"Hey! Move, why are you stopping!" Grace yelled in frustration, but the massive animal completely ignored her, merely swishing its tail.
Mirabella sighed softly, shaking her head at the display, and stretched her palm to Elizabeth. The attendant didn’t wait for another word and obediently placed her palm flat on Mirabella’s.
Just like Carl, Elizabeth froze instantly. Her eyes widened to the size of saucers as her own meticulously organized storage instantly got filled up with a mountain of priceless, glowing treasures.
"This?" Elizabeth was dumbfounded, her usual composed facade shattering.
Mirabella simply nodded at her, acknowledging the unspoken shock, and gently tapped Cupcake. The massive white tiger, easily the size of a warhorse, turned around gracefully and walked towards the struggling Grace.
Elizabeth blinked rapidly, trying to regain her bearings. She turned and stared at Carl: "Did yours?"
"Yes... My storage is completely filled up." Carl answered in a hollow voice of profound shock. He finally stopped his horse, and both he and Elizabeth waited in stunned silence. Their eyes were fixed on Mirabella’s back with one singular, terrifying thought echoing in their minds:
’How huge is her spatial storage?!’
Mirabella stopped in front of Grace, the shadow of her massive beast falling over the younger girl.
"Seems you’re not so good at riding." Mirabella said, staring at the struggling 17-year-old girl with a soft expression. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"Yeah... I only know how to ride cars, not animals." Grace answered with a frustrated pout, finally leaving the reins on the horse’s neck in defeat, clearly missing the mechanical simplicity of Earth’s technology.
Mirabella chuckled lightly. From the bloody, chaotic time she came out of the abyssal hell gate dungeon, this was the very first time she laughed genuinely. The cold, calculating aura of ’Spectral’ momentarily vanished.
She smiled warmly, and reached out to pat Grace’s head affectionately: "Don’t worry, once I get a chance, I will teach you how to ride a horse." She said, her voice carrying a protective, sisterly promise.
"Really." Grace’s dark black eyes instantly lighten up with hope and relief: "Thank you, senior Sister."
She lowered her gaze nervously to Cupcake, the beast Mirabella was sitting on. The majestic white tiger was just as big as her horse, radiating a terrifying, innate predator aura. Even Grace’s stubborn horse was visibly trembling just standing beside such a high-tier beast.
"Ok, Grace. Place your palm on mine." Mirabella said, stretching her hand out at Grace, ready to bestow the final share of the wealth.
